Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce our partnership with FanTeam for the 2019/20 season.

This year they are offering €250,000 in prizes for their Premier League cash game for an entry fee of €25.

First place will take home €50,000 and finishing in the world’s top 20 will trigger a payout of at least €1,500 – and that’s not all.

FanTeam are also offering additional weekly and monthly prizes to sweeten the deal.

Experienced Fantasy managers should be very excited about this cash league as FanTeam‘s game is very similar to FPL.

That includes the pricing structure, with only minor differences between the cost of assets from FPL to FanTeam.

Prize Structure

The €250,000 prize pot is spread among the top 15%, which gives even non-professional players a good chance to recover their buy-in fee.

That first prize of €50,000 is hugely appealing and it is certainly a realistic aim for members of our community.

The entry for this competition is capped at 12,000 which greatly increases your chances of winning compared to FPL, for example.

This all translates into the following prize structure:

Prize Structure Main Event

Additional Side-Events

FanTeam also offers additional chances to win prizes on a weekly and monthly basis.

That means even if you fall behind on the overall tournament, you can still win big by putting in decent short-term performances.

A manager of the month award will earn the winner €1,000 and securing a manager of the Gameweek award will land you €250.

FanTeam’s 2019/20 PL Rules

As previously stated, the rules are very similar to what FPL managers will be used to, with only minor changes.

First, the scoring system has no bonus points built into it.

Instead, an ‘impact’ factor is applied, which awards players with a negative or positive point, depending on whether his team was winning or losing with him on the pitch.

Secondly, FanTeam has no chips. as they prefer to keep things simpler.

However, they do offer two Wildcards, which can be used to change the entire team.

Thirdly, price changes on FanTeam appear at more random times than we might be used to with FPL.

They will appear when a dramatic increase or decrease in demand occurs.

This is slightly different to the fixed time frames for price changes on the regular FPL.

Fourthly, unlike FPL, there is no tax applied on a price increase when you sell a player.

This means that if a player is worth 7.0m and increases to 7.5m, then 7.5m is the amount you would receive by selling this player.

In short, selling and buying prices are identical through the season.

If player A is worth 7.0m and increases to 7.3, then 7.3 is the amount both to sell and buy this player.

Looking ahead

If you enjoy official FPL, but want the chance to win a bit of money down the road, FanTeam is a game you should try out.

One of the best aspects of it is that you can largely copy your FPL team and play it on FanTeam, since the prices and the design of the game are so similar, meaning it does not take much management.

We at Scout are already enjoying FanTeam’s website and can’t wait for the season to start.

While are focus remains on the mainstream FPL game, we will have more FanTeam content between now and the start of Gameweek 1.

Assuming Hayden stays, does he start? How about Dendoncker?

In other words, do I have four points with these two on my bench?

I think it’s worth it if you get it right based in their ownership and number of people that will captain them:
        Ryan
        TAA/VVD/Coleman/Dunk
        Salah/Sterling/Tielemans
        Kane/Deoloufeu/Jota
        Bench: Button, Dendoncker, Hayden, 4.0

Double Brighton anything is hardly appealing, let alone defence

Fancy them to drop like a stone this season

But yeah, it can be done, non of them look all that great though, teams with 2 of the 3 all look way better

Could be in trouble in defence. Holebas loves a yellow card, Matip is not nailed and nor is Zinchenko for any longer than Mendy is out.

not a bad effort for a Kane/Salah/Sterling team but that bench is awful. Would need to be going into a gameweek without a single doubt/Yellow flag in your team which is never going to happen so your effectively playing only 10 for the first 2 gameweeks then.

Fab could be do well (Hammers fan here - waiting to see if we start well defensively after that first tough game). If he were 4.5 I would have him but at 5.0 I'm not sure this year.

First game is the reason I've gone for Leno over Fab.
Fabianski would be my first choice - dependability, but is he the best 5.0 option.

Getting the mid-price midfielder slot right is going to be important early doors this season. So many promising options!

    Ozil, Iwobi
    Fraser
    Martial

I'm struggling to create a starting 11 I'm happy with where the bench isn't just fodder. Because of that I'm considering a starting 11 + 6m/6.5m first bench player where the 6.5m rotates in on fixtures.

If you have Azpi, Digne, Perez/Tielemens, Haller, Fraser and GroB then the fixtures work pretty well (between GW1 - GW12 at least the first sub being the guy playing Liverpool, City or Spurs whilst the other 5 have a reasonable fixture).

It's heterodox, so that must count for something right?
The other benefit being transfers might not feel as pressured because you've got a decent playing sub.

Downsides, it would be extremely frustrating when the first sub gets decent points which is bound to happen at some point. You've also probs got to wildcard around GW12.

Has the idea got legs, or are mid-priced returns just too unpredictable?

      Perez

Want Barkley to nail down ex-Hazard role, but I don't think he will

Outside bet on Brooks, but taking Fraser at the moment (a downgrade looks possible if form and funds dictate)

Townsend? If Zaha goes he could become prime supplier at Palace (but his form is horribly patchy)

I think King has to stay in my team. That Bournemouth coverage you refer to might actually be key. I think he's still on pens too? That's incredible value for 6.5. It's Deulofeu I'm having doubts about. Has he done much during pre-season? Jota is scoring for fun.

Seems odd that you feel having 2 defenders from the best team in the league as overkill. 2 attacking city outfield players is unaffordable as per Liverpool, hence why most have just Sterling and Salah.

I feel Wilson is the best value forward in the game. May bring in another in 2-3 weeks once we know more.

Thoughts on this non Salah team? Tear it to pieces. I am set on triple Pool defence.

    Lloris
    Laporte Zinchenko TAA VVD Robbo
    Siggi Fraser Sterling
    Wilson Vardy

    Subs: Dendoncker, Greenwood, Hayden

I have been exploring something similar (but at the end of the day I will be starting the season w/ Salah in part b/c of the Norwich opening fixture). I think it's reasonable to go with only one of Salah / Sterling if you can stomach it (you get much more balance on the rest of the team).

If you're serious about going No-Salah, I would just consider two suggestions... first, not tripling up on Pool defense (so you can get Salah in one move if you have 0.5 in cash which enables a straight swap from Sterling). Then more generally having a plan to get him in with only taking one hit. So if Salah starts on fire you are not having to WC or take a -8 to bring him in. Right now that would be the Sterling swap approach... or if you keep Sterling you have to turn Vardy into a non-playing 4.5 striker to get Siggy upgraded to Salah for a hit. Which also means playing one of your 4.5 mids, but at least they start (I have Hayden and Dend in my lineup right now too)

His only rival is Otamendi who hasn’t been fancied by Pep for a long time and has not played a minute of preseason yet.

On the off-chance you check back and see this... Check laporte's xGI too. He underperformed, whereas VvD over-performed. Statistically, laporte should outscore VvD if last season is replicated.

      Good point.

Zinc fever has got to everyone. Is it because he’s out wide? Does he have any threat going forward? Dunno. He’s an interesting call but

Im not even that convinced City defence is 100% necessary early on. The fixtures aren’t that great defensively off the bat and teams may not sit off them quite as they did at the end of last season. Cs for sure but not 50% is my guess

Sane could easily become Son in GW3 but yeah there's a high probability that Dendo or the rest of the bench could be called upon in between then. With a view to monitoring the city situation when those beautiful fixtures appear.
