Fantasy Football Scout Members can now access all the data recorded in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Norwich City.

The Members Area already has a section dedicated to the match, which you can get to by CLICKING HERE.

The Reds thrashed the newly promoted side thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) and Divock Origi (£5.5m).

However, as long-time users on site will know, there is more to a game than just who got the goals.

That’s why it is important to go through the data and assess which players excelled, or didn’t, in each area.

For example, not only can you see which players had the most shots in the match, you can filter these both by location and by quality.

The same goes for assist potential. Perhaps you are wondering if you picked the correct Liverpool full-back for your team in 2019/20?

Go to the Members Area and have a look at the data from the Friday night opener to see which one created the most chances, and which one fashioned

Perhaps you were frustrated with the fact that Liverpool were unable to keep a clean sheet against newly-promoted opposition?

The Fantasy Football Scout Members Area can help you assess whether or not this was a fluke or if Liverpool deserved to concede.

To do this, you can look at how many shots Norwich had in the game, where they took them from and whether they were of high quality or not.

Putting Origi to one side, it's probably owners of Salah and VVD that are the happiest right now. TAA's 5 pts for 7m should be matched for 2m less spent, and they have the option of getting another Liverpool defender for 4.5m.

What a dramatic start to the FPL season 🙂

That's unlucky... he'd made 2 saves before getting injured too. At least you can do a straight swap and free up 1.5m. No rush though as Adrian's price is likely to be locked for 8 days.

Good place to be, you suddenly have 1.5MM you didn't expect to have, and only 1 pt less than if you had Robbo.

If Allisson is out for a serious amount of time then anyone on triple Liverpool is effectively down a transfer or 2 mill overspent. Also anyone on Ederson is potentially overspent.

very good point regarding the impact on other goalkeepers.

I was looking forward to rotating Pope + Heaton, but surely a 4.5m Liverpool keeper with maybe Matip alongside VVD, is worth having.

Likely starter, yes, but Liverpool look vulnerable down their right... Salah doesn't track back, and TAA + Gomez have struggled.

Salah isn't really supposed to track back down the right in his role, the midfield should cover. I agree with you, Matip should start at CB moving forward IMO

Yep, which makes the RB and RCB positions even more critical. I think Henderson was over on that side to provide the leg work, but he was getting forward a lot too.

Really really cursing eleventh hour switch from VVZd to Robbo as I had 0.5 spare - empty 4.0 spot and only double Liverpool

Oh well. Next time I’ll stick to plan A 🙂 beginner of course

It's a 50/50 call, don't beat yourself up over it. I only went with VVD and Digne because I wanted nailed defenders with a decent attacking threat. With unlimited funds, I'd have probably gone with TAA + Robertson.

Only the first game. Plenty of points to go around those Liverpool defenders.

I know. Truthfully like everyone else I imagine there’s been so many drafts that sonething lke this had to happen.

Alisson out though does put a bird a dampener on TAA Robbo defensively. But it was always a long term call

They could still keep plenty of cleanies with Adrian looking at their fixtures. Those will robbo and Trent (who already has 1 attacking return) will expect more points going forward and players with vvd already have a goal!

Watched Norwich closely pre-season. Buendia has an Eriksen/Anderson type to him.

Pukki needs 3/4 chances a game but looks good and Norwich capable of giving him that.

Not sure what to make of tonight. I felt that last season the two Liverpool picks that under performed for pts were VVD and Firmino...Last minute changes had me ditching VVD for Robbo and putting Firmino in. Mmmmm.

Won't be ditching Firmino any time soon....I thought he played really well....unlucky to only get an assist.

    1. Athletic Nasherbo

Missed a sitter. Looks a good differential. VVD looks mega dangerous though. Robbo could have got something on another night but TAA looked far better offensively

      1. Dr Dream
        • 13 Years
        7 years, 15 days ago

Yes he did. I noticed Robertson was left further back more often as help for VVD and Gomez....probably because he's significantly better at defending than TAA. One if the reasons for me going Robbo over TAA is that I can see TAA taking his down time against the better attacking teams with Gomez stepping in.

I think there's no FPL category that rewards Firmino for his workrate and teamwork. He's a les prolific scorer and assister than other 9.5m forwards but he's essential for Pool's attack.

Leitner @ 4.5 looks a prospect. Came on and played number 10 behind Pukki and was quite dynamic. Stiepermann was awful and got hooked after 60.

3 as one was offside but yes looks like defenders can’t keep track of his movement and he looks really nice on the ball. Amazing how he hasn’t blown up sooner but in his prime now will make the most of it, 1st PL goal nerves out the way, 30 goal season incoming if they play like that every week

As above. The only problem with TAA is that he's not actually a very good defender at times...in fact quite poor sometimes. I can see Klopp managing him at certain points of the season with Gomez taking his spot against the better teams.Going forward he's fantastic.

It's a great position to be in for Klopp. "Should I play my most attacking full back or my defensive one"...

    4. stuarto
      • 16 Years
      7 years, 15 days ago

TAA is big reward but big risk too. Will get double digits multiple times but will also have defensive lapses and youthful indiscretions leading to suspension or rotation. Fun to watch and a great free kick taker so it’s a tough call. Left him out of my team in the end cause I try to avoid 3 from a team but will inevitably regret it

Same boat. I've picked Vdv and Trent and I'm pretty concerned over Trent's defensive capability.

I prefer Matip with VDV as Matip works better with VdV and covers Trent better. Fabinho slots in nicer too.

However, Trent offensively and deadball wise, he's brilliant but not surprised if he gets subbed or benched at any point, especially if Gomez starts starting more games

Klopp seems to just accept that he's worth being on the pitch for his attacking attributes and hopefully he can get his defensive end up a bit and develop a bit

His positioning was awful today imo. Crosses and fks however were pretty decent

I'm sure me and my backend dev would do a much much better job with a database that has 7.000.000 teams and some 600 players, 200 of which are highly owned. The amount of time this database takes to "update" is plain awful. It's obvious they're taking the wrong approach in something.

It's one game, and they're updating the DB for hours. Should take minutes tops.

I work with Ab Initio and when you can extract 1m records in under a minute, it's frustrating to wait this long for a DB update. That said, it's a free game and we don't know what architecture they're having to use.

You have deliberately taken my pount out of context but actually have highlighted the behaviour of poor casual gamblers. Well played . Couldn't have explained it better myself.

I'm happy for the guy, but yeah after timing is bad

Thank you for the support. I actually think that it is a pretty sad thing that someone has to attempt to big themselves up to others in this manner just for some congratulation. I post on other forums where we all put our selections up beforehand . That's a true reflection of overall success/failure.

not sure he was bigging himself up, just happy and wanted to tell someone - people after timing bets on horse racing is the worst though

'you must be fun at parties' is the nut low of insults. Reddit tier when someone gets called out.

I have plenty of comeback but feel that it is rather wasted with respect to the unintelligent nonsense posted above. Sometimes it's just best to back out when logical dialogue fails .

Ok, it’s a new season, so let’s cover this off quickly so we can all move on:

No, picking VVD instead of Robertson doesn’t make you a genius with great foresight just because Virgil scored and Andy didn’t.

No, Origi doesn’t become a great option just because he scored well in the one game of the season he was likely to play in. No, you’re not as smart as you think you are because you picked him, since we all knew it could pay off and you still have to transfer him out.

No, you’ve not won your mini league tonight; neither have you lost it.

No, TAA isn’t “nailed on” just because he played today.

Anything else? No? Ok, carry on.

I'm no Mystic Meg, but I'm guessing you don't have VVD or Origi.

I picked VVD because he finished of last season with several goals and attempts, cheaper, most nailed, most likely to not get yellows. Also because in pre season we could see he was the main aim in corners...

I love having VVD, Origi and Salah (c) v Norwich (won league last year but couldn’t defend)

I won’t own Origi for very long, saw him v Napoli- so awful!
But tonight it was Norwich and Mane only returned to the building 3-4 days ago. I admit it was a lucky pick, but some sense behind it, so worth the gamble and it paid off. I think he’s a one pointer per match from now. So hits my bench and chambers will come in.

Planning, gambling, fluke, thought... it’s all part and parcel.

      Welcome to 2019/20
