The latest episode of the Scoutcast is about to start on our YouTube channel.

You can watch the show from 8pm to 9pm BST.

This week, Joe is joined by Az and David to discuss the key Fantasy Premier League talking points ahead of Gameweek 3.

The next round of action is an important one for Fantasy managers as many will be wielding their two free transfers.

Already bandwagons have begun to form, so our Scoutcasters will be discussing how best to approach these.

Naturally, Teemu Pukki (£6.7m) is a prime example after he scored a hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

However, we will also be examining Liverpool assets after a lacklustre start to the season at both ends of the pitch.

The Pukki and Mane bandwagons astonish me. Can understand KDB, although it often leads to topheavy midfields, but Pukki is overperforming and Salah is worth the extra £1m.

      Mane is not a bandwagon.

It's Sadio Mane ffs. In a perfect world I'd have both all season long.

          Yes he's garbage. Utterly crap.

231 points last year playing next to Salah and Firmino for the champions of Europe and 2nd best team in England.

He'll probably outscore Salah this year and may be top scoring mid.

          I don't know anything though.

          Shake your heads people ffs

Players have purple patches. Mané is streaky. Salah is far better technically, imo.

Have you ever watched Mané before lol? Isn’t all that? Always has been a fantastic fantasy asset. If it wasn’t for injuries in the past he would of probably had 200 point seasons at Southampton lol.

Hearing that he isn’t all that is quite funny

Personally I’m on salah. But that was just an outrageously silly comment.

Pukki isnt over performing. Got loads last season for a reason. He's a class finisher and will continue to do so. Mane is better than Salah imo and will probs show why, if I was on a WC I'd go Mane over Salah. Only thing is pens

    5. Dirtymeercat666
      • 6 Years

Nothing wrong with going for Mané.

Pukki is a different story - ideally, I’d wait a few more weeks for him but with price rises and the fact that he knows where the onion bag is, he’s worth going for now, imo

    6. Regin

Really don't understand why Salah is considered better than mane? It's like Messi and Ronaldo. Both are equally good.

Mane much much better finisher and goal threat than kdb. Kdb great footballer, but fpl wise mane better.

    Captain query

I'm getting slightly cold feet about Kane this week. Spurs attack seems dysfunctional not least because no one has a clue what it is. I'm also wary that Newcastle showed pretty well against Arsenal in defence and will be treating this as a cs exercise. Is the Arsenal match a better barometer than the Norwich one?

Does Mane make sense? Arsenal will be going to Liverpool to attack and can't defend anyway and it's one of those games where goals generally happen. He looks great to me.

Downside is Kane hauling but I still have him and the loss is 17 points at most. Upside Mane is still differential territory and I can easily see him getting a brace.

        Have him too of course.

City could absolutely rip through Bournemouth. I'm only not going there because of what happened last season in that match. I assume Howe will be going for a repeat

Of course Mane makes sense, he has scored against arsenal at home every time since signing for Liverpool.

So has salah & firmino, haha

I am captaining mane. I regret captaining Salah last week. Kane seems to haul in unexpected fixtures than at home to easy opponents historically.

      1. Moderately content penguin
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

        Ah

I'm not quite alone then. The way I'm looking at it is that Mane is likely to make up any deficit on Kane hauling given that I get Kane base points anyway.

Not completely sold on this but certainly tipping that way.

Ceb in a week or two but he could do well. McGinn cheap option and Man U assets look ok with fixtures!

For less than 7.5 I like Trossard and Cebellos

Alright guys, am I too worried here? Very tempted to WC... Perez dropping, Pool defence unconvincing...

    Heaton
    Lundstram /VVD / TAA /Coleman
    Salah / KDB / Sterling / Perez / Siggy
    Pukki

    Kelly, Greenwood, Nketiah

Wouldn't wildcard yet. Depending on your FT, you could do 2 to 3 transfers and take just a -4.

Difficult to argue against any single pick individually with too much strength of passion, it's a great side. Obv both Laporte and VVD are naturally left-sided CBs, but struggle to see it being a weak pair-up. It's a calibre of teammates across the board that would see the very best out of Pogba surely? Very best of Pogba I agree gets him in the team. I might go Salah, Aguero, Sterling across the front line, but if I did I'd deffo have Mane & Auba champing at the bit to get on at the 60 min mark.

Bit of a meta question: do people like wcing when podcast hosts do? People doing it now are getting a bit of chat but I imagine around weeks 4-8 there will be tonnes. I like to use it to set up for Christmas and new year but there's rarely much wc chat on pods then. Thoughts?

no, because most of these podcasts don't have a clue what they are talking about

I waited for Christmas last year and turned out awful tbh. Was 2k and finished 50k which isn't bad but probs do a lot earlier this year. Tempted this week tbh but probs hold off

Prefer the opposite. More likely to catch price rises when less wildcards active, and less likely to be swayed by the pods into a template team.

You'd have to bench one of the mid or attackers anyways. Just downgrade Mount to 4.5, upgrade Hanley and Kelly to 5.0 and 4.5 and its slightly better

Not for Digne for a week.

Personal thing - I got shot of players far too quickly last time out rather than use my bench. TAA hurt me lots that way.

Palace defence is fairly handy still imo and Kelly should at least get 2 points which is what Robbo has got me twice so far ðŸ™
