Everton’s popular attacking assets have underwhelmed Fantasy Premier League managers so far this season.

After two matches, they have scored just once, only Crystal Palace finding the net fewer times than the Toffees at this stage.

Perhaps we should not be too surprised to see Marco Silva’s men struggle in front of goal at this stage.

During their pre-season campaign, they scored just three goals in seven matches, with Richarlison (£8.0m) the only key figure missing for most of it.

One was registered against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks, while Monaco and Mainz were the only other teams to concede against Everton.

The Toffees drew blanks in four of their summer friendlies, against FC Sion, Wigan Athletic, Sevilla and Werder Bremen.

Of those who found the back of the net, Joe Williams and Lewis Gibson are not first-team regulars, the former now a permanent Wigan player, while Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) is the only summer goal-scorer to have played in either Premier League match so far this season.

Accordingly, ahead of a Gameweek 3 trip to Aston Villa, Fantasy managers might be looking to move on their Everton attackers.

We have assessed the underlying statistics from their first two matches of the campaign to find out if the Toffees have simply been unlucky not to score more often, or if there are some tangible reasons for concern.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

I have a feeling Kane could be a trap and Kane (C) a grave.

Why do you guys think he'll do well? Because Pukki did?

Arsenal were only able to score 1. Who says Spurs will score 2, 3, 4? They don't look very good.

Newcastle were awful against Norwich and gave them so much space and time. Would fancy most strikers against them and Kane looks good to me this season. Makes sense as the logical choice.

I only watched them against Arsenal and they looked decent enough in defence. Probably a different story away from home or they opened up because "it's a Championship team". They'll sit back vs Tottenham again.

          Agree

Think Newcastle will sit in mostly. Expect a similar game to Villa in some ways. Spurs attack is in so much flux I don’t really fancy it that much

I don't disagree bit would still fancy spurs to get something and if they do i think kane has a good chance to be involved, sterling the obvious alternative but for me i will be capping kane. Fancy him to get close to 30 goals this season and if one or more is at the weekend that will do nicely.

My plan for GW3 is to Captain Sterling against Bournemouth using the triple captain boost and keep Auba against Liverpool without even switching to Kane on FT while benching Robertson, so we'll see how that plays out between our strategies.

This. Newcastle offence sucks and Joelington has been an absolute waste of money this season so far, but if they decide not to go on the offence too much theur defence is actually pretty solid. At least better than Bournemouth, Aston Villa, West Ham, Norwich, Watford or Southampton. Possibly roughly on par with Brighton.

Probably not, but I doubt many people would be surprised if he did.

Kane always gets a lot of stick on this forum, but he's the favourite to finish top goalscorer this season. He's a proven great finisher, but people seem to remember his blanks more. Aguero is remembered more for his hauls.

I have been stung by Kane several times. Gave him the triple captaincy 2 years ago in a DGW and he returned less than 5 points.

So here I am, into the fray once more, exposing myself to more potential misery.

      Gotta have faith.

Not sure if I'm the only one but can't stand the term "trap"

In any case, he could be but then again he might not be. Same can be said for every option. Can't say I'm massively confident in Kane but he's a good shout considering the situation of Newcastle and how he did last game at home points wise

Think you have to play the odds...

Decent chance of him scoring 2-3 goals...don't have to captain him if you have Sterling....maybe if he does return well, then he becomes more of a trusted captaincy option...

KDB might drop deep against BOU like he played vs WHAM..I'd prefer Kane to KDB at this stage / game, if you already have Sterling

Yeah exactly - I still think Norwich will struggle due to number conceded but I think they'll score goals with Pukki highly involved. I certainly see double figures + some assists so good value (if he stays fit ofc).

You need Spurs cover - if not Kane then some other way

Doesn’t NEED spurs cover, wise to avoid them altogether, better options elsewhere

Hmmm I have to disagree, Kane is needed.

Salah and Mane? Save the money in midfield and get Kane in.

I know some people are keeping Perez , but losing value isn't good this early in season and I want to be aggressive, so Mount is in for -4

I'm trying to resist the same, thinking Perez to mount or lanzini for a punt

I dont blame you, he looked lost on the wing, he's obviously going to score now we've all ditched him haha

Guys on my WC, contemplating late decisions:

    A) Salah, Ceballos, Kiko/Diop
    B) Mane, Ceballos, Zinchenko
    C) Salah, Dendoncker, Zinchenko

I know B is easy but I've always been riding w Salah since day 1. Plus I really want Ceballos as he could be a gem this year.

Means I don't have any premium defenders (rotating door of 4. 5) cos I went big up top.

I have Adrian as Liverpool cover, wanted Zinchenko for City defensive cover.
