Everton’s popular attacking assets have underwhelmed Fantasy Premier League managers so far this season.

After two matches, they have scored just once, only Crystal Palace finding the net fewer times than the Toffees at this stage.

Perhaps we should not be too surprised to see Marco Silva’s men struggle in front of goal at this stage.

During their pre-season campaign, they scored just three goals in seven matches, with Richarlison (£8.0m) the only key figure missing for most of it.

One was registered against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks, while Monaco and Mainz were the only other teams to concede against Everton.

The Toffees drew blanks in four of their summer friendlies, against FC Sion, Wigan Athletic, Sevilla and Werder Bremen.

Of those who found the back of the net, Joe Williams and Lewis Gibson are not first-team regulars, the former now a permanent Wigan player, while Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) is the only summer goal-scorer to have played in either Premier League match so far this season.

Accordingly, ahead of a Gameweek 3 trip to Aston Villa, Fantasy managers might be looking to move on their Everton attackers.

We have assessed the underlying statistics from their first two matches of the campaign to find out if the Toffees have simply been unlucky not to score more often, or if there are some tangible reasons for concern.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

On a wildcard. Can you help me choose the best 11m defensive pair to go alongside VVD, Montoya, Lundstram?

    A) Digne & Walker-Peters
    B) Keane & Wan-Bissaka
    C) Other pair up to 11m

Note: I bought Wan-Bissaka before his rise, just in case I want him.

Don't have him myself but he's prob the best 5m option - arguably best 5m defender in a 'Top eight' team.

Probably a couple of good options for those who play their WCs in 3 or 4 GWs. Right now I'd say any Chelsea assets are too punty. I don't think Frank has settled on his first-choice striker or midfield combo, and their defence isn't solid enough - yet.

Hey peeps, With the exception of the strikers below as I had planned on maybe a Chelsea one and Kean before the start of the season. But seeing how it’s worked out, my team now looks a lot like I was hoping it would. Oh and sterling as I was just going to stick with Kdb but don’t think I can.

    Pope / button
Vvd, Digne, dunk / Lund 1st sub, Söyüncü.

Sterling, mane, Kdb, son and Ceballos

    Pukki, Barnes / greenwood

    Thoughts?

    I'm still pondering....
A - auba to kane swap
B - king to pukki swap
    C - both for a hit

    Salah sterling mount trossard
    Auba jota king

Good article by David on Everton's woes.

I'd also suggest looking at Siggy's positioning v Watford. We spent most of the match in a 442 with Siggy more advanced than DCL in attempt to keep Watford pinned back and give Gomes and Gbamin a bit more space.

That changed when Kean came on. His focus wasn't to hold the ball up and develop play, he was keen on spinning the defender to get a shot away.

Silva said this week that Kean has to understand our values re defending from the front. Therefore, I'm expecting more of the same tonight; tight game, few chances, Kean on for 30 minutes to try and snatch something. Could be too late by then.

I don't think we're massive underdogs like many are making out. I'd take a score draw right now with Wesley getting on scoresheet for confidence

        Score draw wouldn't surprise me.
Everton are brilliant at ending awful runs for players so Grealish may end on a winning side in the premiership tonight.

I think 0 - 0 though personally. We've been very solid but uninspiring.

          GW 3:

          Henderson
          Maguire, Digne, Boly
          Sterling(c), Mané, Martial, Mount

It looks good, however I would pick AWB instead of Maguire.

Last Manu set piece goal scored by Newcastle coach.

Early days. I don't agree with the assessment of AWB's baps potential, or his attacking threat. And if United don't sort out their set pieces, they will finish 6th or worse, again. And Ashley Young is still there. 🙂

Baseline baps favour AWB. Is it the goal threat that sways you towards Slabhead?

Hmm I swear the player comparison showed me the opposite when I looked earlier this week. Maybe I misread.

Regarding fixtures, Burnley only have two red fixtures in the coming ten weeks. It’s a sea of blue!

Because we have had two weeks, and Wan-Boussaka has only had 7 recoveries. He will never keep it up. In my opinion.

"BaselineBaps" is somebody's guesstimate, by the way.

On Wild Card. Going no Mane or Salah, I know it’s a risk but I want Sterling,KDB,Kane and Martial plus a decent defence.
Won’t be captaining any Liverpool Attack with Sterling and Kane in.

    Pope
    VVD,Digne,AWB,Lundstrum
    Sterling(vc),KDB,Martial
    Kane(c),Firmino,Pukki

    Button,Cantwell,Dendonker,Kelly

I really don't get all this Martial love. I'm a United fan so no accusations of being biased here! I understand he is OOP and cheap, but when has he ever been prolific? Except for when he first burst onto the scene 4 seasons ago. Yes Palace are not the best defensively but we won't exactly steam roll them. We have Lingard/James as our main creators that says it all!

I would much rather go with Ceballos and use the 2m to upgrade my defence to 2 x 5.5 and take a punt on Kean upfront!

I'd say he's been pretty prolific if you think about goals per minutes, and he's also played in some very turgid defensive utd sides too, on top of that people forget his age too.

No need to overthink this, cheap, plays oop for a team expected to challenge for top 4. It won't always be sunshine and rainbows but at that price it's fine
