Everton’s popular attacking assets have underwhelmed Fantasy Premier League managers so far this season.

After two matches, they have scored just once, only Crystal Palace finding the net fewer times than the Toffees at this stage.

Perhaps we should not be too surprised to see Marco Silva’s men struggle in front of goal at this stage.

During their pre-season campaign, they scored just three goals in seven matches, with Richarlison (£8.0m) the only key figure missing for most of it.

One was registered against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks, while Monaco and Mainz were the only other teams to concede against Everton.

The Toffees drew blanks in four of their summer friendlies, against FC Sion, Wigan Athletic, Sevilla and Werder Bremen.

Of those who found the back of the net, Joe Williams and Lewis Gibson are not first-team regulars, the former now a permanent Wigan player, while Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) is the only summer goal-scorer to have played in either Premier League match so far this season.

Accordingly, ahead of a Gameweek 3 trip to Aston Villa, Fantasy managers might be looking to move on their Everton attackers.

We have assessed the underlying statistics from their first two matches of the campaign to find out if the Toffees have simply been unlucky not to score more often, or if there are some tangible reasons for concern.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Interesting - why did you prefer King?

I personally think Jota is a much better pick than King (I have both though) - King basically has penalties and that’s it

Fixs, Bou seem a little more creative. Was disappointed in Wolves start and as said above EL games for them. Jota seemed knackered previous gw. Well maybe not knackered but I’ve seen him play a lot better.
The fact is I really wanted Pukki and kinda went with my gut against s fair few advice here.

Anyone got any thoughts on the optimal number of hits per season?

    1. TheDragon
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 1 day ago

      0

The number of hits is irrelevant - it’s the quality of the decision for each hit taken that determines that

There is no such thing as an optimal number

      1. KDB4PREZ
        • 7 Years

      2. The Legend Squad
        • 12 Years
        7 years, 1 day ago

There probably is an optimal. Too little and you don’t take advantage of the “form and fixtures” effect. Too many and you become a trader which, unless you have a crystal ball, means the -4s offset any gains you have made.

I wonder if those who have been doing this a while have seen any trends emerge?

        1. TheDragon
          • 8 Years
          7 years, 1 day ago

There can’t be an optimal - it will be completely different season in season and it will be completely dependant on your team.

No way you can go into a season saying X hits is optimal for
          This year

          Every decision on its merits

          1. Pooodle
            • 17 Years
            7 years, 1 day ago

This is good advice. If you manage to pick an excellent team then you really shouldn't be taking hits. But if you make some mistakes, then being willing to take hits to fix them can be really important. It always depends on who the transfer is for and who you're removing, nothing more or less.

keeps both of the attacking Liv backs + Bobby.
Got the template midfield + Pulisic and a nice punt in Kean.

He has quite a good game this week. Since you have missed most of the rises I would just watch this week, see how it goes, and get some more data on Pukki, Kean, Haller, and maybe Jota if Wolves get eliminated.

Thinking of starting with Zinchenko on wildcard even though he might lose his spot after a couple of weeks.
Could start with Laporte also but I'm left with no money in the bank which reduces flexibility.

Keeping 1.3m in the bank incase I need to get Laporte or jump on other bandwagons like Ceballos, Haller, Kean etc.

    Thoughts?

    1. MTPockets
      7 years, 1 day ago

If you think he might lose his spot, thus can't spend the 1.3m next week either, is it worth having him?

With the exception of the strikers as had planned on maybe a Chelsea one and Kean before the start of the season. But seeing how it’s worked out, my team now looks a lot like I was hoping it would. Oh and sterling as I was just going to stick with Kdb but don’t think I can.

    Pope / button
Vvd, Digne, dunk / Lund 1st sub, Söyüncü.

Sterling, mane, Kdb, son and Ceballos

    Pukki, Barnes / greenwood

    Thoughts?
