Captain Poll

Manchester City assets are expected to compete amongst each other for the Gameweek 4 captaincy in the coming days.

Pep Guardiola’s men host Brighton on Saturday afternoon, one of the most appealing fixtures for premium Fantasy assets.

The Seagulls have looked a little fragile at the back in their last two outings, against West Ham and Southampton, and conceded four times the last time they faced Manchester City, admittedly under a different manager.

However, the reigning champions are in scintillating attacking form, with Raheem Sterling (£12.2m) proving a reliable source of points in the first three Gameweeks.

In that time, he is joint-top in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, his five strikes level with Norwich forward Teemu Pukki (£6.9m).

However, those in possession of Sergio Aguero (£12.0m) will almost certainly be considerin the forward after he finished as the top-scoring player from Manchester City’s recent win over Bournemouth.

The Argentinian played 90 minutes for the first time this season at the Vitality Stadium, which coincided with Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) being ruled out with a hamstring problem.

That should keep the Brazilian out until after the international break, so Aguero’s route into the team against Brighton is unrivalled, and his chances of minute-management by Guardiola will be reduced too.

Also looking like a viable candidate is Kevin de Bruyne (£9.7m), who recorded his fourth assist of the campaign against Bournemouth.

While he is not quite as explosive as his colleagues further forward, the Belgian midfielder has a history of being a reliable source of points when he is a regular in the team.

Many of the other premium options face tougher tasks in Gameweek 4, although that’s not to suggest there won’t be attacking returns on offer.

Liverpool travel to Burnley this weekend, to face a Clarets defence that has got back to its best under Sean Dyche this season.

However, the Reds have scored an average of three goals per game in 2019/20, Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) involved in four of them so far.

Meanwhile, Sadio Mané (£11.5m) was the key man against Southampton, while Roberto Firmino (£9.5m) has been a constant threat for the Reds.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Spurs go head-to-head in the north London derby on Sunday afternoon.

Following a blank against Newcastle, interest in Harry Kane (£11.1m) may be low, but he does have a good record against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) has attacking returns in each Gameweek so far this season.

Alternatively, Pukki might garner some support for Gameweek 4 after an excellent start to the season.

With five goals in three matches, a match-up with the West Ham defence could reap rewards for the Norwich man.

You can vote in our latest poll below, or in the sidebar of our website.

Also, Joe and David will be discussing the Gameweek 4 captaincy in a live video on our YouTube channel at 12:30pm on Tuesday lunch-time.

Odd one. Assuming I do King to Haller...
    A. Play Lundstram
    B. Play Dendoncker
    C. Play Greenwood
    D. Dendoncker to Cantwell (-4). Long term move. Rotation with Lundstram and excellent fixture.

I also have to play one of those or get Cantwell for -8, lol. No idea which one yet, I'd probably do Cantwell for the hit in your position, great fixture so could make it back straight away and price rising.

Yup. Haller is the free move. Annoyingly King dropped and Cantwell rose already but wanted to see out EFL cup and Martial news.

Quite possibly. Perez doing nothing and Kun(c) could be huge with low ownership in the high ranks and no Jesus in a home fixture.

Stick with my last week's decision of Salah > Kane or take a hit to revert back to what i should have done last gw? so confused

    Pope -- Heaton
Taa Digne Zincheko Vvd -- Rico
Sterling Martial Kdb Perez -- Docker
    Kane King -- Wickham

    A) Perez + King >> Mcginn + Pukki (-4)...and go without Salah unless i WC
    B) Vvd + Wickham >> Lundy + Pukki (-4) with the possibility to do Perez + Kane >> Salah + Wickham (-4) in gw5.
    C) Vvd + Perez + Kane >> Lundy + Salah + Pukki (-8))

Well, I do agree with you and I am feeling the urge to get rid after just one week. I watched the game and Tottenham looked completely devoid of creativity and attacking intent. And Kane was completely out of the match.

BUT... It's Pochettino. And the Arsenal game will be completely different. Do we really think Tottenham will play like this for the next 35 games???

Is there one player at a value price point that you feel like will edplode soon but is not in many RMT? For me it's got to be Grealish who has great underlying assist and goal numbers with excellent fixtures upcoming. Shout out to che Adams too, just a matter of time for him.

    Any of these for free?

    A) Coleman to Digne
    B) Ceballos to Mount
    C) Jota to Barnes
    D) Save

Currently on D. A is obviously sideways but Coleman's got two yellows and easily the lowest points of Everton's back 4 so I'm a little concerned...

I have Cantwell as my 11th player and it doesn't feel great long term as I also have Pukki. Is there a decent rotation option with a 4.5m def or 5.5 mid/att which looks like it could work well. Is anyone else in the same position?

      Sterling.

The longer a game is 0-0, I rather have Salah captain though. First 20 mins always key with City.

You’re not chasing this early in the season, still hasn’t settled yet.

    Thoughts on this WC draft?

    Pope
    Digne, Mings, Kelly
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Cantwell
    Aguero, Pukki, Haller
    (Button, Lundstram, Rico, Elneny)

    1. AndyCook
      7 years, 1 month ago

I think Aguero is too expensive versus the output you can get from a cheaper striker or mid plus the added output you would get from and extra few million elsewhere

Def this season not getting many points not even cs and moreover want to utilise City fixtures to the fullest with their attacking options

    2. AndyCook
      7 years, 1 month ago

It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong but Aguero will have to score every game to cover the handful of points a week you will lose versus better defences

Purposely staying away from def until they start keeping cs

Kelly to Laporte, Rico to VVD, Aguero to someone cheap enough.

Aguero could easily score more than VVD and Laporte combined with just 1 goal

Downgrade Salah or Sterling then, your choice. The full trio compromises the rest of your team.

Salah + Sterling + KDB + Aguero is too expensive

Nah, dont like it, those four big hitters compromises the rest of the squad far too significantly.

Those four bug hitters could easily give more points considering their upcoming fixtures

I really like it. Not sure on elneny and kelly though. But pretty difficult to upgrade that. Maybe Digne to Coleman and Kelly to soyuncu

Not thinking too far ahead, just next 4-5 games and then will make changes as required

Wouldnt be getting rid of Robertson before bur and NEW, liverpool due a clean sheet and when they do, Robbo, TAA and VVD will be sniffing around the baps

surely there is another route to Pukki. Selling Robbo for a hit doesnt feel great

Is it worth doing Richarlison and Rashford to De Bruyne and Barnes? No hit needed.

WC think this is pretty solid

    Pope
    Zinchenko TAA Digne Van Aanholt
    Mount Salah Sterling DeBruyne
    Pukki Haller

    Cantwell Lundstram Greenwood

    Who do I bench??

    Cantwell or PVA??

      Like Van Aanholt. :).

    2. AndyCook

Cantwell, if you can’t play PVA in this fixture then you’d barely play him over Cantwell (only when Cantwell has tough fixtures) and you might as well go cheaper

    A) play Dendoncker
    B) Dendoncker > Cantwell (-4)

Play 2 out of this sorry lot:

    A - Cathcart
    B - Dendoncker
    C - Che Adams
    D - Haller & A or B (-4)
