We take our regular look back at the Premier League line-ups from the weekend just gone, analysing the systems and personnel used by the 20 top-flight clubs and seeing what lessons could be learned ahead of Gameweek 7.

As was the case last week, we are harnessing the use of the average position maps in our Members’ Area and highlighting some of the key stats from each game.

The figures in brackets given after each player name in the article below correspond to the numbered shirts in the position maps.

Members can read on for further analysis, while those wishing to subscribe can still do so by clicking here – memberships cost the equivalent of £2.19 a month for the remainder of 2019/20 and a video of the benefits can be accessed here.

Would normally say A, but if Greenwood is likely to start it's tempting to start him over Barnes, given Arsenal's inability to keep a clean sheet and Utd's desperate need for a win.

Anyone notice that Fernandinho was only allocated 3 points from Watford fixture. Do not own him but is it a glitch or have owners of him been done in with points?

FPL price mangers are silly clowns

Greenwood just lost 0.1 as he oscillated 50,000 owners from peak ownership. He started at 958K owners now at 908K owners

    Meanwhile

Martial oscillated from 1,173k to 320K owners. Lost 75% ownership and also just went down 0.1

    That is all

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 14 days ago

I got rid of Greenwood this week. Every 0.1 is so valuable. I beat that price drop thank goodness.

      Greenwood dropping bit unexpected.

      Martials price situation is rigged.

No reason to drop Greenwood. He is just a store of value. Nobody expected him to haul goals. This is pure stealing of my 0.1

And why should I waste a precious free trade on a 4.5 store of value player. That’s like FPL goons dropping Button because he got a cramp in practice

I’m going to call these dorks and raise hell. I’ve been wronged and they need to give me my 0.1 back.

I would never waste a FT on bench fodder. I agree, theres not explanation to it when you compare it to Martial, we have definitely been robbed. The good part is, it's not just you, its 900K managers.

Martial’s situation wasn’t rigged. Bandwagons don’t drop easily in price. The same happened with TAA when he was injured last year.

For instance, if Mount gets injured, he won’t fall in price easily too.

      1. Murder On Zidanesfloor
        • 8 Years

I guess you're right. The difference is that Martial went from low ownership to high after the season started, and then dropped to low again. Greenwood only dropped in ownership

Digne to Otamendi for a free, then G2G? Leaves me with this

Digne will get hot at some point, but without clean sheets, waiting for his free kick goals will be brutal.

          BUT

Compare 17/18 Otamendi (156 points/4 goals/15 clean sheets) before he lost his job to Laporte to 18/19 Digne (158 points/4 goals/4 assists/12 clean sheets)....Otamendi compares rather favorably for 0.6 less price.

In fact, Otamendi is a beast in the box. He generated significant offensive returns as a starter.

      Great transfer, G2G.

Personally, I expect Azpi/Alonso to pick up CS + assists before Digne. But you have the option of downgrading VVD to get on that train early in case you het any FOMO.

Everton offense is not finding the target while their defense scored an own goal last GW, so I am not sticking with that, either.

So this is where im at on my WC team:

    Pope (Button)
    Tomori, Ota, Diop, (Soy, Lundstram)
    Sterling, KDB, Mount, Son, (Cantwell)
    Pukki, Abraham, Firmino

    1.7 ITB

Diop and Soy will rotate well, giving me home games against Newcastle, CP, Burnley, SHU and Newcastle again.

Chelsea have there best set of fixtures coming up over this half of the season. Son has 3 great fixtures ahead and is in good form.

    Thoughts

Very nice I'm tempted to do similar and try get Bobby instead of mane or salah as cash means great things just wrd about sterling over kun at the moment

Also no TAA think he's a must

    2. FPLCEO
      • 17 Years
      7 years, 14 days ago

No TAA or Aguero just would not feel right on a WC right now. They will be two of the highest scorers in the game.

    3. Karhumies
      • 14 Years
      7 years, 14 days ago

I think this is a very solid team overall. I guess the obvious alternative is Sterling, Firmino to Mane, Aguero with less ITB to get Mane in as an extra captain choice. Mane injury status makes that a question mark for this GW, though. If there's any change remaining, I'd consider Diop -> Aurier.

Since you can't afford TAA or Robertson anyhow, one alternative is to upgrade Tomori to Azpi/Alonso and hope they become "this year's Digne" instead of leaving 1.7 ITB.

    4. Shineonme

Which would you have obviously Kelly or Greenwood are third on the bench

    A. TAA and Greenwood 442
    B. Pukki and Kelly 343
I have exact cash to move from B to A right now after the Greenwood drop.
Could hold til next week to move but TAA will probably rise before start of next GW at 91% now with 2 days to go.

Yeah thanks. I think Pukki might fade some and bit of a fixture turn soon.
Problem is I already did Digne to Ota for free this week.
So -8 ain't feasible so hope TAA doesnt rise and make these moves for -4 on Saturday after seeing both play again.

Robertson/VVD are not THAT much worse than TAA if you are slightly short on cash. The important thing is having at least one of them and if you get any change by going for a cheaper one, spending that extra well elsewhere in the XI.

I'm sure this must have been covered before, and it's by no means a criticism, but why is the pitch view in the members area arranged with the defence on top? Does nobody get confused now and then with having to invert left and right stats to correspond with the pitch layout?

I've got him in this week as a punt. Great fixtures and looks like he wants to score/assist. But you're right, dont know what to expect from spurs at the moment, prepared to take the risk and switch him out later if required. Soyuncu was the safe and boring alternative 😀

Yeah might have to go. But I think he will Haul, so best to leave the discussion on this future scenario to the future.

I'll probably end keeping him for that good run of fixtures.

Kept Hazard for 31 gameweeks last season and the patience paid off.

We have 2 season to suggest he will come good. Hold.

      Just hold
      I won’t be selling.

Only viable alternative is Son. But I’m staying well away from him and Spurs at the moment.

I pulled the trigger on Digne. Sterling and Greenwood to Ota Son(c) and Abraham and it feels good

Surprised that son isn’t higher in captaincy discussion. On form, and expecting response from spurs at home this weekend ...

You couldn't have pulled the trigger any better. Now sit back & enjoy the Raz haul

Ota, Son & Tammy Abraham are great picks tbh... I expect a raz blank actually

Could pay off and I like the Son C that's what I am on.
But I rather having son and Sterling

Yeah I’m just not sure of Sterling though. Increased completion for playing time this year, real focus is to win CL, Mahrez doing well, playing 70mins midweek etc. Got KdB and will shift funds up front to get Aguero from Gw 10 all being well.

Then have a front 3 of Tammy Aguero and Pukki.

I had Son from GW3 or 4 whenever he was available and I am as confident on Sterling that he turns it around. Many ways to play the game and it's not like you have spent the money unwisely. GL

Still own him, he needs Lanzini back though for the assist. I think he is still a good pick. Attacking side, sole striker in the team. So I would say keep for now...

I got rid as soon as he played a dummy to feed Fornals in the 92nd minute when he had a clear chance to score, in GW5. Looks like hes not selfish at all

He might not be selfish and I sure wish his team mates were the same as he would have a few more goals already. I like his movement and positions he gets into. Think he stil canl be very good.

For me it was a the choice between a striker in red hot form who seemed like he was getting service from his entire team and scored a hatty,VS the guy who dropped deep, was good at hold up play and linking up with the mids, tried to assist the assister alot and played a dummy in the 92nd minute when he could have picked it up and scored the winner. Easy choice there

I did not watch the last game in full only highlights so I can't talk about his position in that game what I saw in the 2 previous games watched on full was a good hold up link player and an out and out poacher.

Is Fraser no longer first choice?

Would you drop him for Yarmolenko in a draft game?

    1. Tomas_brolin

Bit more competition in the Bournemouth midfield but he’s still first choice.

      I’d keep him over Yarmolenko

So it seems like it's him and Harry Wilson sharing minutes but surely both can play?
Anyone have an opinion on this?

    Ryan
    Digne Zinchenko Maguire VVD
    Salah (c) Sterling KDB Cantwell
    Tammy Haller

    Rico Greenwood Dendonker

Any chance Digne gets attacking returns?
    Any chance Zinchenko plays?
Any chance Maguire can keep a clean sheet!
Any chance Haller will do something at Bournemouth?!

Any ft? Things change quickly Zinch and Digne looked great a week or 2 ago.
But Zinch could start this week.
Based on FYs available I would look at Zinch and Digne
      To Ota and someone else

Is Alonso worth a 2 week punt?

Thinking of downgrading Digne to upgrade cantwell to Maddison after liverpool. But for now happy to have Alonso for the next two weeks

I was thinking this but he played tonight and don’t want triple Chelsea with mount and Tammy when i would be buying him for attacking returns really as I don’t fancy him to keep CS even against upcoming opposition
