Ashley Barnes (£6.6m) has now gone four consecutive matches without an attacking return.

With so many blanks in a row, his owners are likely looking at whether they should be offloading the Burnley forward ahead Gameweek 8.

That said, the Clarets do face another favourable fixture this weekend as Everton come to Turf Moor. The Toffees have conceded at least twice in each of their last five matches.

However, the complicating factor in assessing Barnes’ potential is the recent form of Chris Wood (£6.2m).

Since the former Brighton and Plymouth Argyle striker last found the net, Wood has scored three times.

Is that a trend that will continue in Gameweek 8? We’ve assessed some of the most recent matches to find out whether Barnes is worth holding or if his colleague Wood is hogging the spoils at Burnley.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Has Barnes been unfortunate not to score recently?

Lessons Learned from Gameweek 7

Best move with 1FT & 0.1itb. Still got WC.

    A. KDB >> Son
    B. Greenwood+Salah >> Auba+Yarmolenko (-4) (Bench KDB)
    C. Save.

    Pope
    TAA • Zinch • Digne
    Salah • Sterling • KDB • Mount • Cantwell
    Pukki • Abraham
    (Heaton, Lunds, Greenwood, Rico)

I think B is wasteful if you are definitely wildcarding but then I'm tempted too. I'm now tempted to just do Cantwell to Yarmolenko for 1wk and wc next week. Not ideal but hey.

    Adrian

    Tomori /Lowton / Lundstram

    Pukki / Abraham / Auba

Now that Pep has said he should fit after IB he's definitely a hold.

FPL won't let his price fall as he was anyways under valued.

Pep is saving face. His comments about KDB are vague.

I hardly hold onto injured players. It costs you points like those who held on to Martial. Lol, there are still people hanging onto Martial...

Ole said: We hope to have him back after IB.

Pep said: He will be fit after IB.

I sold Martial that week but keeping KDB.

I have a real issue with transfers like this. How will you get KDB back if you have value tied up into him? I can understand a 1 week punt on Mahrez instead of KDB, but transferring him out without the option to get him back quickly is unwise, imo...

Kun + KDB owners, what are you doing this GW:

    a) Sticking with both
    b) Selling KDB. For whom?
    c) Selling Agüero. For whom?

I'm afraid neither starts this GW, might do Kun > Auba myself.

        His GW points so far 5, 1, 5 11, 2, 7, 6.

Only 2 cleanies in the above figures. Let's face it, you do not own TAA just for cleanies at over 7.0m.

I think this typically could be a CS for Liverpool. Leicester are tough to break down and dangerous on the counter. Klopp will be aware of this, so perhaps they will approach this game more cautiosly. 0-0 incoming!

          • 16 Years
          6 years, 10 months ago

However, Leicester’s great form actually stretches back to when Brendan Rodgers became their manager last season.

In fact, since Rodgers’ first game in charge in March, Leicester have won 31 points in the Premier League.

This total has only been eclipsed by Liverpool (49) and Manchester City (43) in the same period.

The gap between City & Liverpool with the rest is incredible. Leicester a genuine crack at the top 4. Spurs, Arsenal, Utd all struggling and Chelsea will also be inconsistent I reckon.

If I was to sell KDB for this week and buy him back after the IB I stand to make 0.2 on this endeavour. Question is - do I go for
    A. Mahrez or
    B. Dilva
as a 1 week replacement? I just know whichever one I pick will get rested by Pep and I would have wasted an FT on a bench warmer. Or just play Cantwell and save my FT?

Having said that, likelihood is KDB doesn't fall in price in 2 weeks to actually make any money on taking him out and bringing him back in. Probably will just end up holding and playing Cantwell.

    Team as it stands

    Pope (Button)
    TAA Otamendi Lundstram (Rico Soyuncu)
Sterling (C) Salah (vc) KDB* Mount (Cantwell)
