Ashley Barnes (£6.6m) has now gone four consecutive matches without an attacking return.

With so many blanks in a row, his owners are likely looking at whether they should be offloading the Burnley forward ahead Gameweek 8.

That said, the Clarets do face another favourable fixture this weekend as Everton come to Turf Moor. The Toffees have conceded at least twice in each of their last five matches.

However, the complicating factor in assessing Barnes’ potential is the recent form of Chris Wood (£6.2m).

Since the former Brighton and Plymouth Argyle striker last found the net, Wood has scored three times.

Is that a trend that will continue in Gameweek 8? We’ve assessed some of the most recent matches to find out whether Barnes is worth holding or if his colleague Wood is hogging the spoils at Burnley.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Has Barnes been unfortunate not to score recently?

Lessons Learned from Gameweek 7

    Seems to be a lot of love for Mahrez but I can't help thinking its his turn for pep roulette, back to back 90mins. I'd hate to lose KDB for a one week punt for Mahrez to be benched. KDB > Son seems a lot safer.

    1. chilli con kone
      7 years, 1 month ago

      It’s a risk but he’s in form and eased in this season so is probably still pretty fresh

      Obviously goes without saying that there’s no point applying logic to Pep

        7 years, 1 month ago

        Currently debating losing KDB for 1 or 2 weeks as I won't lose any value if he drops at least once. Id hate to do it to then see Mahrez on the bench Vs Wolves though. Might just keep hold of him

    Hi all,

    1 FT - 1.6 ITB

    If I am wildcarding next week in GW 9. Should I do:

    A) Jota --> Abraham
    B) Jota --> Auba + KDB --> 6.6 (Yarmo)
    C) Other suggestions with this lot?

    Pope - Heaton
    Robbo - Dunk - Lowton - Zinch - Soy
    Salah - Sterling - KDB - Cantwell - Mount
    Greenwood - Pukki - Jota

    Thanks

    I may end up with egg on my face, and maybe there is a real injury n will be out for a bit, but surely, surely the kdb injury is a calculated international break ploy... Just wait for him to narrowly miss out on the weekend so need the break to recover and be ready for first game back. Feels almost inevitable!

    I have both KDB and Aurier and 2FTs.

    Would it be foolish to switch Mané to Sterling and Kun to Aubameyang instead?

    Liked the look of Razza when he came on last night and Kun has been rather wasteful recently plus he might not start at the weekend.
