A week of international football gets underway on Wednesday and, as ever, there will be plenty of Premier League representation across the world over the coming seven days.

We’ve put together our usual club-by-club guide to which players will be away with their nations, detailing the countries they are representing and when their matches are scheduled for.

There are a few notable omissions from the list below, with several well-owned Fantasy Premier League assets having a welcome fortnight off.

Jamie Vardy (£9.6m) called time on his England career last year, while David Silva (£7.6m) has also retired from international duty with Spain.

Anthony Martial (£7.7m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.3m) have been overlooked by Didier Deschamps, while right-backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.4m) and Kyle Walker (£5.9m) aren’t part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Mohamed Salah (£12.3m) and Andrew Robertson (£7.0m) weren’t meant to have a two-week recuperation period, of course, but both Liverpool assets have withdrawn from their respective countries’ squads over the last few days.

Salah’s bothersome ankle has seen him ruled out of Egypt’s forthcoming internationals but only after the premium midfielder had travelled to Africa for a consultation with the national team doctor and head coach.

Salah had been pictured with ice on his ankle after the Gameweek 12 win over Manchester City and was spotted wearing a protective boot when joining up with his country on Tuesday.

A statement from the Egyptian FA said:

After medical tests, Mohamed Salah will not play against Kenya and The Comoros. The injury needs a period of treatment to recover.

Robertson, along with Ryan Fraser (£7.0m) and Scott McTominay (£5.1m), withdrew from the Scotland squad on Tuesday.

The Liverpool left-back himself said:

For the last two and a half weeks, I’ve not trained at all for Liverpool. I’ve trained the day before a game, could only play the last 15 minutes against Genk in the Champions League and missed the Arsenal game in the League Cup.

It’s a niggling injury which won’t go away unless I give it time. My ankle was already injured when a tackle from Rodri on me late in the game against Manchester City on Sunday opened it up again.

I was already a doubt for Scotland but, unfortunately, that made it even worse. I don’t want to pick up more injuries and ruin my season because of it. The call has been made and it has been taken out of my hands. It hurts as captain to miss out. I know a lot has been said about these two games being meaningless but we don’t believe that.

The in-form Christian Pulisic (£7.4m) won’t be part of the USA’s squad for their CONCACAF Nations League games over the next week, meanwhile.

Pulisic picked up a hip injury in the win over Crystal Palace and USA head coach Gregg Berhalter said:

This was a collaborative decision with the club looking after the best interest of the player. These decisions are always difficult because this group and the coaching staff want nothing more than to have Christian here, but it was a risk we weren’t willing to take at this time.

At the time of writing, Raul Jimenez (£7.3m) is still on course to be representing Mexico in their own CONCACAF Nations League ties.

Jimenez picked up a leg injury in the dying stages of Sunday’s win over Aston Villa but has reported for international duty, with a decision still to be made on his involvement in games against Panama and Bermuda.

The last of those games takes place in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Mexico so, if he is involved, a late flight back to England awaits Jimenez ahead of Wolves’ Gameweek 13 meeting with Bournemouth the following Saturday.

Looking on the positive side for his owners, on just one occasion has Jimenez been benched by Nuno Espirito Santo after international duty (March 2019).

Elsewhere on the long-haul flight watch, DeAndre Yedlin (£4.4m), Steven Alzate (£4.5m), Yerry Mina (£5.4m), Davinson Sanchez (£5.3m) and Jefferson Lerma (£4.8m) are all due to feature for their respective countries just after midnight on Wednesday.

Brazil and Argentina are in international friendly action in the Middle East, rather than the Americas, so the Premier League players in action for those two countries at least have a little longer to recover from their exertions given the time difference.

Sergio Aguero (£12.0m), recalled by Argentina, will face teammate Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) in Riyadh this Friday.

Son Heung-min‘s (£9.6m) South Korea side will encounter Brazil next Tuesday afternoon in Abu Dhabi, having played Lebanon in a World Cup qualifier five days beforehand.

Sadio Mane (£12.1m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s (£11.0m) international duty will be done by Sunday, with both premium FPL assets representing their countries in 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 22 Premier League-based players in England’s squad will also be packed up early, with the Three Lions taking on Montenegro and Kosovo on Thursday and Sunday.

Raheem Sterling (£12.0m), of course, won’t be featuring for Gareth Southgate’s side in the first of those games, having clashed with Joe Gomez (£5.1m) in training.

Vardy on his own is fine imo. Maddison not a prolific point scorer...yet

Luxury transfer of Mount to Pulisic maybe

Yes i'll probably save if no injuries.
Do you really think Pulisic is a better option? Of course, he's on fire right now but it won't last forever and I feel like Mount is more nailed.

Pulisic could just as easily move to CAM to accodmate Hudson, or Mount himself could be at threat when Jorginho comes back as Kovacic has been so good as well.

I’m keeping Mount but can see why others would make the switch as I don’t think one is more nailed than the other currently

When i am lurking here using my phone and reading posts i can not see if someone has replied to a reply if that makes since.

Is there some way i can fix this as i find it a bit confusing sometimes trying to figure out who is talking to who?

        No that is not it.

I can see the reply but when someone replies to a reply i have no idea who they are talking to sometimes.

As in when i hover my mouse arrow over a reply using my pc i can see how many people replied but have no idea using the phone.

Sorry for the tongue twister btw.

Ahhhh I see what you mean now. I mostly use on my phone so have gotten used to it being this way. Sadly the only way round it is to think about who would be replying to what but no sure way of knowing lol. As the convos go on it stacks them more appropriately if people are having different conversations on the same threat but it is very confusing. Not sure what the solution could be tho

Possibly Sterling to Mane if you fancy the double Liverpool midfield. Otherwise you could easily burn that transfer, nothing really required (unless anything changes during IB)

    Any transfer advice here?

    Pope - Button
    TAA - Tomori - Soyuncu - Lundstram - Rico
    Sterling - Mane - KDB - Maddison - Dendonker
    Vardy - Abraham - Connolly

    1FT, £0.0 ITB

Transfer targets are going to be Liverpool assets, but cant bring in Robertson or Salah without taking a hit. Cheers!

      I’d go bold:
      Sterling to Pulisic (4.6 gain)
      Tomori to Robbo (2.3 spent)

You then have 2.3 in the bank for next week (I do it this week though) - i d be upgrading Connolly for a c7m forward.

Bernardo ban probably correct IMO. You just can't post that sort of stuff on social media these days, even if the person who it is aimed at is not offended. You would have got away with it in 2000, but not twenty years later.

He's been shadowing Abraham a bit less (sort of like Alli used to do with Kane) of late.

Mount still presses like a madman (again, like the old Tottenham squad) - but given the left wingers are doing their job now (Pulisic wasn't ready at start of season, CHO was injured) - he doesn't attack in the same sense, as he did originally.

If you look at his vs. Pulisic's heatmap, they actually occupy very similar areas - but you'll see since Pulisic has come in, he's in the penalty box far more.

Mount will still get chances but for sure, he's a bit less involved in the final moves of late.

Can’t help but feel like the TAA + Robbo double up has been a mistake. Feel like salah + Mane would be a better use of funds. Not like liverpool have been unlucky to concede as their xGc is nearly exactly their actual Gc.
With this in mind, and KDB being a DM with a Christmas rotation risk what would you think of a TAA/Robbo + KDB > PVA + Mane move? Palace’s fixtures are insane from next week

TAA Robbo double up with Salah/Mane and Sterling in midfield is the way to go still. Even though Sterling has underperformed.

      1. Ask Yourself
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 8 months ago

I would like sterling actually. Working a route for KDB > Sterling is an option. Thanks for the alternative, I just know Mane is certain to play whilst sterling gets thrown out of routine whenever he looks in a groove. Pool defence is killing me at that price man, as is KDB

        1. Brosstan
          • 11 Years
          6 years, 8 months ago

Yea I dont own Mane/Salah either and its probably KDB that has to give way... But he will have a few more chances. Not too concerned about being "too late" for Mane because Salah will always be a good differential alternative.

    4. AndyCook
      6 years, 8 months ago

De Bruyne played more advanced against Liverpool, I think it would be a mistake to think he won’t score points but he will surely slow down a bit versus the start of the season. My personal opinion is 12M players only represent value if you captain them, with two from different teams you can at least play the fixtures but two from the same team doesn’t offer this so unless you have lots of money spare I normally would suggest not doubling up in attack to the tune of 24 million

      1. Ask Yourself
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 8 months ago

Only because Dilva was out though mate, he filled the Dilva role. Some weeks when he the magician gets rotated then he will be advanced. Not worth holding for the odd game he gets the chance to play in the final third.
The key isn’t captaincy anymore. Tammy, Vardy and even Martial are captaincy options for me now alongside salah and mane. Certain games will suit one or the other so nice to have the choice. Performing premiums has been the key. Not many captain mane but those who own him have flown up the rankings vs all of us losers with salah/Sterling, KDB and Auba/Aguero.

        1. AndyCook
          6 years, 8 months ago

That’s an interesting point, I will have to have a look into it. I’m actually not sure how much difference in rank Mane over Sterling would be if not captaining.. the points difference is small. I am a firm believer that half the game is the right captain and the right time and the other half is finding value. At 12M you can rarely find value (unless another 300 point season for someone)

    5. Brosstan
      • 11 Years

Liverpool havent been unlucky to concede per se, but from an FPL perspective they have been very unlucky to concede 1 goal consistently instead of getting a clean sheet one game and then concede 2 another.

Yeah it’s just something that’s caught in my mind. Got some money ITB and going to hold it for two GWs in case they keep underperforming and mane keeps scoring. Really frustrating Holding KDB through this period for me when I know he’s a dead asset and there’s nowhere for him to go. This gives me an out

Which formation is best after the IB?

    A) 4-4-2 (So no VAJ)
    B) 3-4-3 (Playing both TAA and Robertson in defence becomes more of a risk)
    C) 4-3-3 (Good Mid-field assets will miss out if have both Salah and Mane)
    D) 3-5-2 (No VAJ but more choice of mids, but both TAA and Robertson in defence still risky if go Liverpool defence)

    What's your choice thinking?

3-5-2 is always my preferred choice. Prefer the extra points from goals and CS from midfielders though Vardy-Abraham-Jimmy is looking good

      Choose 2 from Salah/Mané/Sterling/KDB/Son and 3 from Maddison/Martial/Pulisic/Mount/David Silva/Tielemans
      Vardy Abraham pick themselves
So many value defenders that I'm unsure if both TAA/Robbo will be worth it over them

That’s a benching headache anyway. I’d get Son and Robertson if fit

Or in fact Vardy and someone..

    Pope
    TAA / Lundstram / Rico
    Maddison / Salah / Mane / Mount
    Jimenez / Vardy / Abraham

    Button / Dendoncker / Fredricks / Tomori

    1ft 0.8itb

Think I should save ft or get rid of Fredricks for max 5.3 defender? Eyeing up Palace defence after this gw but thinking Guaita is the pick as PVA is out of budget and my defence well set fixture wise, although quite template. Or I could lose Mount, would have max 7.5 for a replacement. David Silva looks the pick of that bunch but very wary of City's drop in form and awkward schedule. Any thoughts guys / gals?

Mount to Pulisic? Fredricks for Söyüncü?
