Captain Poll

Liverpool options dominate the captain poll once again as Blank Gameweek 28 rolls around.

You can now cast your vote below or on the sidebar of the website.

Fresh from scoring in the 3-2 win over West Ham, Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) has raced into another early lead, already earning the support of 44.6%.

Upcoming opponents Watford have let their guard down a little since the new-manager-bounce of Nigel Pearson wore off.

In their last four matches, the Hornets have conceded at least two goals on three occasions, while Liverpool and Salah are in the scoring mood.

The Egyptian has found the net four times since Gameweek 24, more than any of his colleagues.

However, Sadio Mané (£12.3m), who netted against West Ham and could have scored a double-figure haul were it not for VAR, is also in the armband discussion.

The Senegalese international has more away goals in the league than Salah this season and has registered back-to-back strikes since returning from injury in Gameweek 26.

That has earned Mané 12.1% backing in the captain poll, good enough for third place so far.

However, Jamie Vardy (£9.7m) is the man to take up second place so far, as Leicester prepare to face Norwich.

Admittedly, the centre-forward has now blanked in each of his last five matches, but his backers appear to be encouraged by the prospect of the Canaries’ defence.

Despite some recent improvements Daniel Farke’s men were brushed aside 3-0 by Wolves in Gameweek 27, suggesting they could be just as obliging against Leicester.

Interesting differentials at this point include Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m), who still hasn’t blanked in a league match he started since Gameweek 13, while Harvey Barnes (£6.0m), despite his Gameweek 27 benching, could be the most likely to score for Leicester at Carrow Road.

    1FT 0.3ITB
    McCarthy (Button)
    TAA Soyuncu Boly Tangaga* (Egan)
    Salah Mane Hayden* (KDB Grealish*)
    Vardy Jimenez Ings

Tempted to do Tangaga > Taylor even tho i reckon tangaga might start this week since he usually starts the difficult fixtures. It'll help keep my options open for the blank coming up since burnley have a guaranteed fixture.
I'm guessing Hayden may get some minutes this gw but theres rly no one else in my budget i could upgrade him to so i think i'll just leave him in.

    Thoughts?

Wouldnt do the tanganga move mate to be honest mate.

Would roll the FT if it was me. Having 2 FT next game week would be a great advantage.

Thoughts on my lot below would be appreciated

Thing is i'm very content with my starting 11 for gw29 so I don't know if i'll want to make a transfer then. Ik things can come up but still

You’ll have to free hit in 31 or take a lot of hits to field a side, provided all the teams we expect to win in the Facup win their games.

    Best move for this bunch?

    1FT 2.3itb

    A) Grealish >> Barnes / Fernandes

    B) Lundstram >> Pererria / Doherty

    C) Something else

    Pope
    TAA • Soy • Rico
    Salah • Mane • Cantwell
    DCL • Ings • Jimenez

    Button / KDB / Grealish / Kelly

I did exactly Grealish & Lundstrum to Barnes & Boly.

I would have preferred to try and get in Fernandes in all honestly.

          Next level strategy that.
I'd be tempted by Barnes in for Grealish considering u don't own vardy. Fernandes could be great tho just the fixtures look quite ugly.

    1FT with 4.1 itb
    Guaita (Stekelenburg)
    TAA, Stephens, Soyuncu, Rico (Lundstram)
    Salah, Mane, Cantwell (KDB, Fleck)
    Aguero, Ings, DCL

    Thinking of doing:
    GW28: Lundstram > Saiss
    GW29: Ings > Aubameyang

    Thoughts? Any better moves?

I would do Aguero To Auba to be honest. He is going to see a fair bit of bench time in weeks ahead. Whereas Arsenal need Aubama on in every game chasing down that 5th spot.

Got Henderson as main keeper, worth doing for this week:

    McGovern -> Pope (-4)?

You would probably get 2 points back from pope playing 90 minutes plus there's also chance of CS and save bonuses. I'd do it 🙂

Will Fleck be more useful as a 5th midfielder than Hayden given Sheffield United should have a couple of DGWs? Spent WC a few GWs ago so need to be cute with my remaining FTs with one eye on a BB later on

Well when I got Boly I just went for naildness really since Saiss seemed to be competing with dendonker. Now tho its different, Saiss seems nailed, cheaper and probably with slightly better attacking potential

lol did you watch the game? The attacking potential you talk about was a bit of a fluke assist, that missed Bolys outstretched leg by cms and would have resulted in a 14 pointer for him...

No i'm not only looking at one game tho am I, maybe on this one occasion boly was unlucky but thats very short sighted. Over the season Saiss does seem to edge it based on the stats. The main reason I'd choose Saiss tho is the slight saving he gives

if you can only field 11 doing those 3 transfers then you should view the hit as a -2.

You could have 8 players + 3 blanks
or 11 players and if those extra 3 get you 2 points each that means you are only down 2 points vs your 8 point hit.

I found Dunkirk hugely disappointing. Probably Nolan's worst.

Both were ok without being blown away - I'd probably only want to watch B again though.

Didn't like Dunkirk tbh. Never felt realistic enough with soldiers just standing there on the beach doing nothing except waiting for that one German plane to throw bombs at them.

Don't think they could afford enough extras. Crap film. The original 1950s Dunkirk much better. available to stream free if you google.

They should've casted someone cheaper than Tom Hardy (whose face was never seen anyway) and invested that money in a more realistic setting.

Empty beaches ffs. .Couple of hundred troops.. Not realistic and hardly any planes. Pathetic. Tom Hardy very good in Peaky Blinders though

And the movie made it seem like there were only 5 planes in total during the whole battle haha. Yeah Tom Hardy is great, as is Cillian Murphy, but their potential was hugely underused in this movie.

2 more Vardy points. Horrible transfer as tired Vardy owner , looking to get rid for Auba next week

I don't have a free hit so bear this in mind when looking at my squad.

        Laporte TAA VVD Robbo Perreira
        Bruno Richa KDB Mahrez (Saka)

I have 1.1 ITB and happy to C KDB or a Pool back. KDB Laporte Mahrez and Saka not in GW 28. Hoping for a DGW 29 with 3 expected double ups. What should I do for a starting 11?

          WC available, right?

Laporte to Doherty or Boly can work. Alternatively, you can also do Mahrez to Barnes.

Something like Mahrez, Laporte, Ings to Barnes, Boly, Aubameyang over 2 weeks is also an option.

Tnks Holmes. Yes a WC available. Mahrez my special man who has paid me well. Laporte can move but I see him improving Citeh defense. Easy to get back though as no money invested.
