Fixtures

Blank Gameweek 31 fixtures confirmed after FA Cup ties

The full schedule for Blank Gameweek 31 is now known after the completion of Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth round ties.

Victories for Leicester City and Norwich City meant that two more Premier League fixtures fell by the wayside and will now need to be rearranged due to the clash with the FA Cup quarter-finals later this month.

Manchester City also progressed after a win over Sheffield Wednesday but Pep Guardiola’s side were already assured of a Blank Gameweek 31 after Chelsea‘s victory over Liverpool on Tuesday.

Arsenal, Newcastle United and Sheffield United made it through to the last eight of the FA Cup earlier in the week.

Manchester United face Derby County on Thursday evening but the result of that match will be immaterial to the Gameweek 31 picture.

The confirmed line-up for Blank Gameweek 31 is as follows:

Burnley v Watford
Liverpool
v Crystal Palace
Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United
Wolverhampton Wanderers
v Bournemouth

Gameweek 34

The FA Cup results also have implications further down the road.

The semi-finals of that competition clash with Gameweek 34, so a maximum of four Premier League matches will be postponed on the weekend of April 18/19.

Manchester City v Newcastle United is one of those fixtures, as the pair meet in the FA Cup quarter-finals and one of the two clubs will make it through to the semis, thus necessitating a rescheduling of their Gameweek 34 match.

However, a free midweek follows that round of league fixtures, so the games in question could simply be moved to the Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday afterwards.

Aston Villa v Sheffield United, originally earmarked for Gameweek 28, and the six postponed Gameweek 31 fixtures also have to be rescheduled, however, so it remains to be seen how the Premier League will go about setting new dates for those matches and whether Double Gameweek 34 will absorb some of them.

A Double Gameweek 37 looks fairly assured, given the lack of available midweeks elsewhere.

We currently have only four Premier League fixtures definitely going ahead on their original dates in Blank Gameweek 34:

Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur
Brighton and Hove Albion v Liverpool
Everton
v Southampton
West Ham United v Burnley

OUTSTANDING FIXTURES

The following games still have to be rearranged:

Aston Villa v Sheffield United (originally scheduled for Gameweek 28)
Chelsea v Manchester City (originally scheduled for Gameweek 31)
Leicester City v Brighton and Hove Albion (originally scheduled for Gameweek 31)
Manchester United v Sheffield United (originally scheduled for Gameweek 31)
Newcastle United v Aston Villa (originally scheduled for Gameweek 31)
Norwich City v Everton (originally scheduled for Gameweek 31)
Southampton v Arsenal (originally scheduled for Gameweek 31)
Manchester City v Newcastle United (originally scheduled for Gameweek 34)

It probably won’t be until just after Gameweek 31 that we will know when some, possibly all, of the outstanding Premier League fixtures will take place, as the results of the FA Cup quarter-finals will have a huge bearing on the season run-in.

No clue what to do now as an owner of no City or Arsenal & no way to get to Auba for free.

Am I gonna just *ignore* a DGW?

Same. I can do Firmino to Auba for free but Firmino plays in GW 31

Need 0.2 for Vardy -> Auba.

Could just do Traore -> Noble (bench fodder + GW31 fix).

      Possibly just ignore
Can't see Arsenal getting anything at City, last 5 results have been:

      Lost 0-3
      Lost 1-3
      Lost 0-2
      Lost 0-3
      Lost 0-3

      So 5 games = 1 goal scored, 14 conceded
So ultimately comes down to whether you think Arsenal smash West Ham - however this is a West Ham that just beat Soton, pushed Liverpool very closely and and disappointed Aguero captainers

Citywise - not sure who you go for given no-one is really nailed
Man Utd derby is always unpredictable
KDB potential injury in unfortunate, but if true hardly makes other City assets appealing if they are missing their main creator of chances

I currently have four BGW31 players. Surely it’s a FH and focus on building a team for DGW34 (WC and BB) still in hand?

I've got a starting lineup of 11 players with decent home fixtures, but no Arsenal or City-players.. FML.

    Pope
    TAA - Soyuncu -Stephens
    Salah - Mane - Maddison - Mount
    Ings - Vardy - Jimenez

    Stekelenburg, Cantwell, Rico, Reid.

    1FT and 1.2M ITB.

Thinking Vardy and Mount to Aubameyang and Doucoure for a hit.. Other thoughts or should I just go with that?

        Don't overrate the DGW.
Auba is just WHU game + 2 points vs City.
Villa are awful at the back. Leicester need that win and they can put 3-4 past them.

But City are very vulnerable at the back, especially with the counter speed of Arsenal and Auba..

Vardy might not be fully fit for Villa, and Leicester have looked awful since Christmas..

Arsenal's last 5 results have been:

              Lost 0-3
              Lost 1-3
              Lost 0-2
              Lost 0-3
              Lost 0-3

              So 5 games = 1 goal scored, 14 conceded

In the last 4 matches Man City have conceded the least big chances (less than half that of Liverpool), the least goal attempts in the box (14, next best is 25), just 2 headed goal attempts and have an xG conceded of 2. Can't see goals for Arsenal.

Sell asap. He's a physical player and the 2 dislications are pretty much going to force him to change his style of play as his shoulder will always be susceptible to another dislocation. Pretty worrying considering how soon the 2nd one was after his recovery.

I think people that aren't using a FH in 31 should really look at Watford. Deeney, Sarr and Doucoure all good options. Even Foster and a cheap defender are up there. Good fixture in gw31 as well as the 3 or 4 following

If City beat Newcastle in the FAC, they'll have another 'separate' DGW further down the line or a TGW.

Not making it to the UCL SFs will open up a free midweek along the way for the separate DGW but if they progress to the UCL SFs - a TGW is all but guaranteed.

Don't think so mate, after they play Arsenal next week they can have two games postponed due to the FA cup and can play them in 34 and 37.

Really a TGW would be guaranteed? Don't City just have two missing games (Chelsea and Newcastle, once Arsenal is played this week) and they can make them up in the midweeks of 34 and 37?

Ok so climbing ranks now, not afraid of hits this week with only 1FT. Any suggestions what to do, trying to avoid FH 31 but feel auba os essential:

            VVD - TAA - Dohert - Soy
            Fernandes - Salah (C) - KDB - Martial

Not really. Just get solid players like always and focus on those who have doubles. Take a few more calculated hits than usual and its pretty easy. Most people wont have more than 8-9 players in gw31

Think there's a decent chance it is mind games
Hoping that Ole gets fooled, plays Phil Jones because he is expecting a weaker team and then BOOM, KDB starts

Contemplating this myself, no good having Traore for 31 if he's injured.

Repost from old article any help appreciated.
Those of us with all chips still intact What’s your plan?

            34 & 37 will be T/C and B/B

Wildcard hopefully around 35/36 if we can cover 34 with free transfers

Therefore leaving just this week or 31 to use FH. I’ve currently got 8 players for 31 (not all nailed) plus a couple of transfers therefore making this week the logical answer for FH.

Have I read this right? Any suggestions appreciated thanks.

Trying to get 8 players for GW31 by using FTs. At the same time I'd like to get in players like Pepe. Might just get Jota or Jimi instead as I have no Wolves atm.

              What do you think?

8 players for 31 should b more than adequate, I’d probably go Jota for now he’s flying and the savings will help elsewhere.

Mourinho has also told @emma_saund on @BBCSport that He will tell the board that they have to choose to focus on either Saturday (Burnley away) or Tuesday (Leipzig away) but they can’t do both

If there's ever a time to make a demand like that, it's probably not right after losing to the bottom team in the league...

What to with this team. 1 FT and 3.3 ITB. Dont have any DGW players

            Pope
            Stevens-TAA-Bertrand
            Salah(C)-Bergwijn-Bruno-Perez
            Firmino-Ings-Jimenez

            Button-Fleck-Lascelles-Tanganga

I can do Firmino to Auba for free but he plays in GW 31.

Also can do Ings and Bergwijn/Bruno to Auba and Sarr for hit but dont fancy imo

            Henderson
            TAA VVD Soyuncu
            Salah KDB Traore Grealish
            Ings Jimenez Vardy

            Pope Lundstram Dunk Dendoncker

            1 FT, 1.5 ITB

            1. Grealish (or Traore) >> Sarr (then get Doherty 30/31)
            2. Vardy >> Aubameyang (means likely using FH31)
            3. Traore Lundstram >> Doucoure (or Saka) Doherty [-4]
            4. Dendoncker >> Saka (allows bringing WOL def next week)
            5. Save

            Thanks

Ngakia. Worth getting him instead of Hanley due possibility of a gw31 fixture? Could he have secured a place in the west ham team?
