It’s not quite last-chance saloon territory for Aston Villa but, seven points adrift of safety and with only four matches remaining, a victory over Crystal Palace is surely a must this afternoon if they want to keep their slim chances of avoiding relegation alive.

Kick-off at Villa Park is at 14:15 BST.

Both managers originally made one change apiece from the sides they sent out in Gameweek 34+ but an injury to Kortney Hause (£4.4m) in the warm-up has seen Ahmed Elmohamady (£4.1m) replace him.

Dean Smith has also recalled Conor Hourihane (£5.7m) to the Villa midfield, with Anwar El Ghazi (£5.3m) dropping to the bench.

That should see Jack Grealish (£6.0m) move to a more advanced position down the left of the hosts’ attack.

Keinan Davis (£4.3m) is only among the substitutes, as is the fit-again Matt Targett (£4.3m).

Pepe Reina (£4.2m) recovers from a hamstring strain to start.

Roy Hodgson’s one alteration is an enforced one.

Gary Cahill (£4.4m) looks set to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, so Mamadou Sakho (£5.0m) gets the nod to replace him at centre-half.

Budget FPL defender Martin Kelly (£4.1m) is back on the bench after recovering from a calf problem.

It’s fair to say interest is limited in this one from a Fantasy perspective.

Grealish is the only player in either starting XI who has a double-digit ownership in Fantasy Premier League.

‘Ghost teams’ will account for some of that ownership and, if we instead look at the top 10,000 in FPL, not a single player from either Villa or Palace is owned by more than 3%.

Grealish’s ownership within this elite group is only at 2.13%.

Nine of Palace’s ten clean sheets this season have come against sides in the bottom half.

The Villans have scored just twice in their last eight Premier League matches.

Aston Villa XI: Reina, Elmohamady, Konsa, Mings, Taylor, McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Hourihane, Trezeguet, Samatta, Grealish.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Ward, Dann, Sakho, van Aanholt, Zaha, Kouyate, Milivojevic, McArthur, Ayew, Benteke.

Can they just stop this game and deduct 3points from both teams?
And ban this referee team for next 10 games at the same time

Maybe time to look to play in a league that does add bonus or has any captains. Perhaps only allow a chip to be played in a single GW. Try and make the game as pure as possible.

Need to close ML gap. (Already did TAA & Nketiah to VVD & Jesus for -4 hit)

    DDG (Martin)
    VVD, Saiss, Holgate (Kiko, Lascelles)
    Kdb, Willian, MANE, Bruno (Saka)
    Kane, Greenwood, Jesus (c)

Big risk time. for - 8 hit, Mane to bring in one of these TC options:

    A) Sterling
    B) Pulisic
    C) Salah

Had kdb, foden and mahrez since gw34 WC, before which I had kdb and foden. Do you just stick with it and count yourself unlucky or -4/8 to get the ones generating the returns - i.e. jesus, da silva and sterling. Can’t tell if I’ve made a bad call or just been unlucky.

Good to hear. Frustrating! If I do nothing (which I know I should do as my WC was well thought through) then I might save up 2 FTs and some money so I can at least bring in any midfield combo in the last GW (assuming we find out who is playing).

        Always difficult to predict...

I would say both should get minutes - either start and get 60 min, or be benched and get 20 / 30.

I do not feel very comfortable selling KDB or Sterling before BOU tbh

TAA has now been my only LFC for two gameweeks. Won't sell him as I have more important transfers to do, but I don't think it will be a huge mistake if you sell him, especially if you use the funds right.

I removed him. Also on FH. No Pool. Difficult, but juicier fixtures.
But either way, everton doesnt look good atm and nothing to play for. I would go for more attacking team at least.

Who do you think is more likely to start for City vs. BOU, Sterling or Jesus?

Doesn't look like either will start but can see both off the bench

Question is who plays upfront if there is no Jesus or Sterling false 9?

      Jesus. He came off early.

It's Pep, he can put anyone up there probably Gundogan

Pep has been managing their minutes well lately - Sterl only just had the last game off and Jesus always comes off early.

No way! KDB started the last two matches and they have a much more important FA Cup semi-final this weekend! Guardiola will rest him.

KDB only played 63 mins and only 31 vs Saints - would be really shocked to see him get less than 60 vs BOU personally

I’m a little surprised so many know ManC lineups. Instead of stating Sterling, KdB, Mahrez or Jesus won’t start, perhaps a little reasoning why you think so.

My only way to get Pulisic is to gamble on Peps rotation and sell KdB. Don’t know if it is worth it. What do you think?

If I were to guess, KDB and Jesus get another 60 because they were rested.

I have no clue about Sterling and Mahrez...

KdB with 60 min against Bournemouth would be amazing. I think I will just have to pray Pulisic don’t haul.

    3. @persecuted_by_mods
      6 years, 14 days ago

What do you want people to say, everyone's guessing based on minutes and cup competitions. The one constant is it doesn't matter if they're benched as they'll still get decent minutes.

I think KDB doesn't start Vs Bournemouth and comes on for 25-30 you decide whether he's worth keeping or getting puli

It's exactly what you said - a gamble

One that could work, or that could fail

Anyone who tells you they know for sure is mental... Personally id find it very difficult to sell KDB - not necessarily because I think he's going to do unbelievably well over the last 3 (although I do think he's got returns left in him yet)...

But more because the frustration of selling him before a haul would DWARF the frustration of keeping him for 3 Blanks

Sometimes it's a frustration mitigation game we have to play 🙂

But it could work, no doubt

From the restart I've mostly guessed the MCI lineup correctly up to now (Foden this week was a notable exception). I've got no clue for GW36+ though. None.
