Holly from Fantasy Football Community looks at some of the key numbers from our Members Area over the last four Gameweeks.

The final Gameweek of the season is here and I’m taking a look at the underlying statistics from the last four Gameweeks, in a bid to sort out those transfer and Free Hit dilemmas going into Gameweek 38.

Note that some players will have seen more minutes than others over this period.

Holly, the founder of FPL Community, has two top 10k finishes in five FPL seasons, is a regular guest on the FPL Show and recent addition to the Scoutcast line-up.

How does this look? (for free)
    Antonio, Jesus -> Sterling, Nketiah

Salah, De Bruyne, Sterling (c), Pulisic, Fernandes
    Ings, Greenwood (Nketiah)

Personally, wouldn't want to lose Antonio. I'd probably prefer KDB->Sterling, downgrade Jesus if you need to.

Possibly, however rival just behind me in ML has Salah, De Bruyne and Fernandes
So thinking of it as a blocking move as well.

    A)

    Wood rashford ings

    Rival 7 points behind
    B)

Close, but B may have it. Sterling (C) scaring me and I tink Vardy/Greenwood has it over Rashford/Wood. I'm wary of captaining Dilva, though I have him.

Birmingham retiring Bellingham's shirt number after one season has to be the most embarrassing thing I've read in 2020. And I was following Boris and Trump's daily corona briefings every day for a couple of months

Money doesn't matter. MCI are most likely to be the highest scorers this week. It's very hard to pick who will get the points for them (or even who will play!), but having 3 likely scorers is a good thing. Best guess of who will score most (in order) is probably Sterling, D.Silva (we love a good story), Mahrez/KDB/Jesus, but it could be any of them or Bernardo or Laporte or Foden. On a FH make sure you have 3 and you should get good points from someone; all 3 if you're lucky.

No this is wrong. As it stands, they qualify for the Europa League qualifying rounds. A win against Chelsea will seal it. If Spurs cross them then they will be hoping Chelsea win the FA Cup.

Who to captain from this lot? Chasing a 30-pt lead, set up my team so 11/16 (including BB + Captain) are different from rivals 13 players (he's playing TC), figured that's the only way with such a big gap.

    1) Mane (Rival doesn't own)
    2) Silva (Rival doesn't own)
    3) Salah (owns)

    Henderson McCarthy
    TAA Aurier Pieters Doherty Stephens
    Salah Mane Silva Foden Soucek

Silva, even though me catching up on the leader (Sterling, Foden, KDB) essentially relies on City not smashing / points being spread out?

I was leaning towards a Pool man in that sense, that if they can smash Newcastle and City fails of some sort, that it might be the only scenario where I can catch him.

True. Alright then Salah. He's gonna captain Sterling surely.

I will say if opponent has Sterling, Foden, KdB you're very unfavored with a 30 point deficit.

    Afternoon guys.
Congrats to all that got green arrows since the restart, and all the others that tried hard but couldnt lololol

Last moves with nothing to give a f.. Lost ML and bad OR. only thing for last gw is fun vs frustration
    A) fun (Sterling C and Kane points after hit to bring)
    B) frustration (sell kdb and Jesus and see them haul)

Good luck to all that have ML for grabs and also to Chris, joshua, Aleksander and Magnus for that #1

It's not ideal, given that all 4 of these should start, so if your replacement gets a clean sheet and the one you remove doesn;t, you have still only broken even on the hit.

I'd advise against hits for defenders if only for one week

Maybe this is because we've not seen such a case for thinking about the mentality of specific players and their goals / the records they've been chasing, but has it been overdone this year? Specifically...

    - Sterling 20 goals
    - Salah 20 goals (not talked about as much)
    - Antonio 10 goals
    - KDB assist record
    - Gold boot for seemingly everyone with 19 goals or more

Perhaps these things incentivize players more to shoot, etc. but are we considering that some of these players don't necessary produce quality when they're in their heads - i.e. Salah the last few games.

    1. how now brown cow
      • 11 Years

If you think antonio will shoot more because he happens to have score 9 goals, I think that's overthinking it.

        • 12 Years

Antonio apparently has a big bonus built in for 10 goals, granted he's already shooting like a mad man.

On BB, worth a -16 or madness?

    Button to Reina
    Lascelles to Thomas (Leicester)
    El Mohamady to Branthwaite
    Bruno to Antonio
    Connolly to Ings

    Would leave me with:

    McCarthy | Reina
    Saiss | Kiko | Pieters | Thomas | Branthwaite
    Salah | Sterling | KdB | Martial | Antonio
    Kane | Ings | Greenwood

Chasing an 18 deficit (minimum 34 if I do this) and Antonio and Ings would be a differential.

    Thanks

The Reina and Thomas transfers are completely pointless for -4’s

Everton has keeping clean sheets so that rules Branthwaite our for a -4

Connolly -> Ings might be worth it

you are only 18 behind - takiing a -16 gives you no chance

Thanks for you feedback, much appreciated.

          Funnily enough I have 1.6ITB and Bruno/Connolly to Antonio/Ings leaves exactly 0.
So that’s one hit potentially worth it and with 0ITB it’s then whether or not it’s worth Lascelles and/or Elmo to other defenders

Realistically GW38 isn’t going to have many clean sheets as usually high scoring

I 100% get that ‘wasting’ bench spots with players scoring 0 is annoying but taking a -4 for defenders this week can’t be a good idea in most cases. Attacking defender or Burnley defender maybe

            Lascelles -> Bardsley / Tarkowski/ Aurier/ Gomez
Connolly -> Nketiah (if team news) or even Wood

Losing Fernandes as part of a hit has so much potential downside

There must be a better way 🙂

How much ITB do you have at the moment?

Yes agreed but you should have planned for it before.

Can’t change the past so need to maximise based on current position.

I kind of did have it planned, but the Elmo and Lascelles injuries plus Connolly lack of recent gametime has now hindered me

Poor planning I'm afraid, how did you end up with that team with BB still in place.

I know, the Elmo/Lascelles injuries and Connolly being out of favour are the main reasons

Look at the transfers individually, compare your bench then and now.

      Basically...

      1) Lascelles (0), Elmohamady (1-2), Connoly (1-2), Reina (2)
      vs...
      2) the new bench.

When you view it like that, don't you think your transfers are getting off being used for high impact moves? I think Bruno > Antonio is a fine move if chasing, which would potentially free up a Lascelles > whoever move. How about Mendy/Digne?

Thanks, I think the best bet is Bruno/Connolly to Antonio/Ings so taking an hit to play 8 attackers essentially.

That leaves 0ITB for maybe sorting out Lascelles

          that sounds better.
          Lascelles to Pieters could work.

Yes, so maybe just the -4 for Antonio and Ings.
Can’t see anyone worth replacing Lascelles for at 4.2, even if said replacement keeps a clean sheet I’d only be 2 points up

I'm surprised to see Auba has only scored in 2 games since the restart, I'm beginning to think Ings is a better bet against shu who nothing to fight for

Auba might also be rested (coming from bench / subbed early) as FA cup final is important to Arsenal.

Jesus owners talk to me? (those not on FH).

You keeping and hoping he plays or gets something off the bench?
Would need a major restructure for me to lose him now and still have 3 city attackers!

In limbo atm mate is my honest answer, at the moment I’m going to leave him in my team and pray for some early team news to see if he’s starting or benched, if he’s benched i plan to get in Sterling -4 and TC him!!!
