Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to be partnering with Sky Sports Fantasy Football this season and bringing you even more content on the popular, free-to-enter game itself.

The site is already open for registration for 2020/21, so you can head over there now and begin picking your team – or teams plural, as Sky allows you to manage a second XI.

A whopping £50,000 is on offer to the game’s winner next season, with cash prizes of £5,000 and £1,000 dished out to those managers finishing in the other two podium places.

How Do I Play?

Just like in Fantasy Premier League, managers select a team of players that will either earn attacking, defensive or bonus points in an attempt to score more than friends, colleagues and/or the rest of the world.

However, this is not a squad-based game: you simply choose a starting XI and do not have a bench.

We have already produced a beginner’s guide which delves deeper into the rules and scoring system – this can be accessed by clicking below.

https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2020/08/23/how-to-play-sky-sports-fantasy-football-a-beginners-guide/

Join Our FFScout Mini-League

There are a number of different ways to compete against others in the Sky Sports game, one of which is a Free League.

We have already set up our annual, free-to-enter Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, which you can enter by heading to the ‘Leagues’ tab and clicking ‘Join+’.

The full details are below:

League Name: FFScout
League Pin: 8482750

If you want to set up a money league with your friends, family and/or colleagues, Sky Sports can actually administer that for you to avoid any post-season awkwardness.

You can choose the entry fee (either £2, £5, £10 or £20 per person) and the prize structure beforehand, with Sky Sports taking care of the rest.

WATCH LUKE AND JOE’S GUIDE TO THE PLAYER PRICES

Our very own Luke and Joe have already gone through the player price list on a team-by-team basis in a YouTube video, which can be viewed below:

Subscribe to our YouTube channel for more Sky videos throughout the season.

What’s To Come

We’ll have more articles to come before the season starts, with one focusing on the stand-out defensive picks and another on the attacking assets up for consideration.

We’ll also continue to provide features and tips throughout 2020/21 once the action gets underway.

In the meantime, head over to our Premium Members Area to see which players will potentially benefit from the Sky Sports bonus on offer for saves, tackles, passes and shots on target.

You can also read our interview with last year’s Sky Sports Fantasy Football champion, Liam Dorrian, who offers insight into his success.

Doherty will go for double that, no chance they’ll sell him that cheap - KWP was valued at £12m, AMN far superior and will go for £20m minimum (I actually think he’ll end up staying at Arsenal though)

Your team is very similar to mine:

      Mccarthy
      Taa, Vinagre, Saliba
      Salah, Auba, Son, Soucek
      Jimenez, Mitrovic, Werner

      Button, Stephens, Mitchell, Taylor

GW3 to bring in Kdb and Martial by swapping out Auba and Werner.

    Kane | Ings | Jimenez

Fixture-wise it looks excellent and they are all class players.

However the price point and flexibility makes me feel awkward.

Surprised not to see Jiminez in more teams tbh. One of the most reliable strikers out there. He's almost guaranteed to just tick over with goals. A nice non-captain option that will get points. Probably the best opening fixtures too

shu and MCY a bit off-putting to begin with? Granted, after that their fixtures are brilliant.

Id expect him to score vs Sheffield Utd? And yeah Man City not the best fixture but it's at home and they are beatable these days. Then it's plain sailing

Trent should've been 8.5m imo. Although I think the probably is unless he was an astronomical price like 10m+ he'd still be in most teams. You've gotta spend the money in your team somewhere and he competes with a lot of high end attackers and mids...

Once he starts GW1 at CB I would say so. Mourinho for all his faults is quite predictable when it comes to team selections and has had a history of core 'untouchable' players. Probably not too helpful an answer for you though...

This Messi transfer won't happen unless he massively drops his wages. Besides that, I can't see anyone paying £200 million for a 33 year old, can't see him leaving for free.

The other problem with a player like Messi is he rules the roost. Barca are running around like headless chickens with him calling the shots. He will end up owning everyone at City 😀

I am not going to use my WC just to bring in KDB. Plus there are loads of midfield option to go without.

Mostly everyone wants to bring in KDB. At this point I am not on that boat.

You can only get him for free start of 2021. By the time he is 36 and run your wagebill dry, he does not have a resale value.

The contract states he can leave at he end of every season on a free. His lawyers have told him he can leave, hence why he isn't ever returning to Barca. Next.

No you have been miss informed as the clause that he can leave needs to be activated before the season ends. The season has ended so the buyout contract stands.

What option would you choose and whom. A bit confused , some suggestions could be useful.

        A) 6M midfielder
        B) 6M striker
        C) 4.5 striker, 4.5 mid, use the money elsewhere

Mitrovic - then possibly Adams and let's see what price Rodrigo comes in at

ASM - talisman for Newcastle, nice chap from what I see on social media and exciting player to watch... but not too much end product and the stats don't back up any major expectations of significant improvement next season.

Armstrong is potentially the best of the 5.5ers and I really fancy the Saints to break in to the top 8 this year.

That discussion actually made me laugh so I ran the numbers

Messi at 16m and Noble at 5.0 last season would have got you a combined 420 points (and this is being stingy on Messi's bonus I've given him KDB's bonus points but Messi would get a lot more)

Vs Rashford and KDB at the same price is 428 points

So only 8 points more and that's being stingy on Messi's bonus

With him as a perma cap option could he even be an option at 16m

*Subject to whether you're a person that thinks Tevez, Salah, Robben, Silva, Aguero etc can all tear the premier League a new one but Messi for some reason can't

Someone on here absolutely abused me for saying Messi is still a bargain at 16.0m. Thanks for crunching the stats and proving those bafoons wrong.

            1. @persecuted_by_mods
                5 years, 6 months ago

The perma cap option is the most compelling part of it, bargain is probably a bit far but that person was also wrong in terms of their value equation but there's caveats ofc like keeping a 5.0 in your team the whole year and hoping it's the highest scoring one (though Soucek looks solid for this) but caveats to the other side too as Messi would get more bonus than I gave him

PL is a demanding league, much more demanding then the divers and ballet dancers in La Liga.

He is also 33, not 25 anymore.

I am not saying Messi will not be a good player in the PL but whether he will be the best FPL asset to own, most expensive as well is not conclusive.

              1. @persecuted_by_mods
                  5 years, 6 months ago

Calculations are based off his last year scores so the age thing doesn't come into it that much, I didn't use his peak age scores as then he'd be value even above 16m! PL is tougher in general sure, would it be tough for Messi at city no way

Why is werner then 9.5? He shd at least be 12 going by that

Messi will surely do well at city but to expect him to match his 20+ goals AND assist in another team is wishful. Different team different system and a manager that likes tonrotate. He is also going away from his prime

I think 14m would be a fair price. He shd end up being the top scorer fpl wise. Would expect maybe 35-40 attacking returns

Peps rotation is the only thing in my eyes that could hurt his returns other than that yes he can easily match it

People keep thinking Barca are some amazing team when they've been awful for ages now, city are miles better than them and largely play a similar system

Rashford missed nearly a quarter of the season due to injury. I don't think you factored in the extra point for each CS and goal for Rashford either. That would take the points difference above 30.

On a related note, I don't necessarily think he would get a lot more bonus points than KdB did. Because of the way the BPS system is structured, if the striker gets a brace that's almost certainly 3 bonus even if Messi gets a brace too.

Also with the strengthening of the defence and more assists likely from the wingbacks (jammy pass to Messi and then solo wondergoal) they will steal bonus too. And Messi will have quite a few deductions from dispossessions and shots off target because of his playing style. There are flaws with the BPS system and I don't think it plays to Messi's strengths.

You are allowed to captain Messi every week and get his 320 points doubled though. Easily makes up for even a 30 point difference in pure points between the pairings, even when you take into account captaincy rotation with other players outside KDB/Rashford.

Messi missed 2 months of the season. There was nothing to factor in I just took his last year score as a striker but that's not the point

Jesus certainly ain't bracing much is he?

Have you even seen Messi play? He's hardly sterling or Salah losing the ball, he creates more than anyone
