The last of four Premier League matches to take place on Sunday is the late kick-off at the King Power Stadium, with Burnley the visitors to Leicester.

Play gets underway at 19:00 BST.

Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) is the most-owned player on show in this game, with almost one in four Fantasy Premier League managers owning the Leicester City striker.

He is part of an unchanged starting XI, with James Maddison (£7.0m) again having to be content with a place on the bench.

After blanking in Gameweek 1, Burnley finally get their 2020/21 league campaign off and running.

As was the case at the end of last season, the Clarets are down to the bare bones.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.5m) picked up an injury in midweek, joining Ashley Barnes (£6.0m), Ben Mee (£5.0m) and Jack Cork (£5.0m) on the sidelines.

James Tarkowski (£5.5m) has also failed to recover from a “bruised toe”, so budget FPL defender Jimmy Dunne (£4.0m) is handed his first-ever Premier League start.

Robbie Brady (£5.0m), rather than an ‘out of position’ Erik Pieters (£4.5m), gets the nod in Gudmundsson’s absence.

Nick Pope (£5.5m), the leading FPL points-scorer among goalkeepers last season, is between the posts and is the only Burnley asset who boasts a double-digit ownership.

No goalkeeper kept more clean sheets away from home than Pope (seven) in 2019/20, although six of them came against clubs who finished in the bottom half.

Vardy registered 17 attacking returns at home last season, which no other FPL forward could top.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Castagne, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Justin, Mendy, Ayoze Pérez, Tielemans, Praet, Barnes, Vardy.

Burnley XI: Pope, Bardsley, Long, Dunne, Taylor, Brady, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil, Wood, Rodríguez.

    On a wildcard...

    A) Reece James & James Rodriguez

    Or

    B) Justin & Zaha

They've scored about 7 goals in 10 shots on target, i can't see it continuing.

Very different attacking performance vs Fulham than Liverpool, didn't have the same energy and intensity to swarm the box. Bamford is a good pick if Rodrigo isn't waiting in the wings but I think you're right.

    Should I wildcard this team?

    McCarthy
    Digne / Davies / KWP / Mitchell
    Salah / Aubameyang / Fernandes / ASM*
    Werner / Ings

    Steer // Brewster / Justin / Bissouma*

Southampton have Burnley, who didn't look great - but can score. Wener has West Brom. Digne & Davies have decent fixtures, but I'm not that confident in clean sheets (as with Mitchell)

Salah/Fernandes/Auba okay, but no City. ASM injured. Bissouma out. Brewster still hasn't signed and Justin has City...

No Everton attack, no Wolves, no City.

I would wildcard, Southy defence is a big miscalculation, ASM looks uncertain and others I have doubts about their value long-term (Ings). Sort your tinkers out now and less chance of taking "hits".

Tactically we have no style or patterns of play. Arteta has quickly implemented that. It’s clear at a City, Liverpool or even Leeds for example.

Whereas at United it seems to be off the cuff, freestyle football. They’re not well coached at all.

              1. @persecuted_by_mods
                5 years, 11 months ago

His tactic is one thing, I have a decent first 11 and they are better than most teams I will put it out every week and they will most likely get enough points to scrape into top 4

Injuries, subs, reacting, tactics etc and he's absolutely clueless

Just to not be biased he has done well gelling the team, getting the best out of certain players, but anything is a bounce from a negative Mourinho there

To add. When you have talented individuals like Martial, Rashford, Pogba, Bruno etc. You’ll have games where individual talent will get you over the line. But it’s not enough for us to kick on unfortunately.

2 years into Ole’s reign and we’ve no idea what his philosophy is. Not good enough.

        2. @persecuted_by_mods
          5 years, 11 months ago

He's not their main problem sure, however he is a woefully inept tactician

Ole is tactically clueless when the team is not doing well. I highly doubt he can motivate players when 1-0 down at the half time.

Moyes, Mourinho, Van Gaal and Solkjaer are also failed managers?
People thinking "we just need to change this one thing" as if that's gonna solve it. The problem is the club and expectations in general.

Glazers have crippled their finances, Woodward has crippled their recruitment and the results have crippled their image. All it will take is one smartly-run club/manager at a top 8 team to leapfrog them for CL and start the decline towards Arsenal status.

They've loaded the club with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of debt? Estimated £1 billion of interest payments and other "dead money" that they've cost the club since their takeover: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/oct/17/glazers-legacy-manchester-united-liverpool.

Your finances aren't crippled when you can can buy at the top of the market, among the top three in Europe.

The Glazers might be making/taking a lot of money out of the club but Man United's finances aren't 'crippled'.

They're completely reliant on Man U's revenue, which is in turn reliant on their image/sponsorship. If they miss out on CL for a couple of seasons that revenue will be majorly cut and that debt will become a lead balloon around the club's necks. Why would sponsors pay the money that keeps Man U going if there are better clubs in the Prem, let alone in the same city?

Imo yes. Auba can't keep Arsenal's attack going much longer playing on the LW and tracking back under Arteta's system at 31 for very long (same for Willian). More defensive solidity from 0 hasn't changed very much at all at Arsenal.

Ooh, ok just thinking in terms of Sterling vs KdB.
Though my gut is with Sterling

If Sterling gets the vast majority of minutes out of Torres, Mahrez, or even Foden/Silva it makes sense. Over-rated player but consistent FPL asset.

Just Rich to DCL and Alli to Son.
No point in Mane to Salah

Hard to stomach this GW, my three strikers blanking when all other highly owned strikers are hauling, and then Son ofc.
Already on a -4 (Auba + Barnes -> KDB + JRod) but might be forced to an early WC. Team as it stands:

    McCarthy Steer
    TAA Davies Keane Justin Mitchell
    Salah Fernandes Jrod Soucek Bissou,a*
    Werner Martial Wilson

Would you WC this, or can I scrape by a couple more GW's ?

can easily scrape. gotta weigh up what you'd get on WC

Thinking no Son, DCL, Richa will hurt me. And Davies on borrowed time probably. But still maybe too few changes I want to warrant WC. And I'd like to see how City's looking for a couple of GW's too.
        Fernandes should be KDB btw

I wouldn’t - there is a double break week coming up - ideal for WC

I'd keep the WC for now.
It takes a few more games for things to settle, and your team does not require major surgery.
My worry would be the GK, Spurs defense and the unsettled play of Chelsea and Man U.

      Where is KDB though?

        Fernandes should be KDB 😳
Davies is a worry, plan is to get Saïss, but looks like he's rising , so need to settle for Coady I guess.
McCarthy is a worry ofc but everyone has him, and the obvious replacement hasn't stepped forward, so can wait.
Martial and Werner have disappointed, but will give them a game or two, they should come good.

          Not too bad then.
WC should be kept I think.

Can’t remember a harder start to a season

I’m now set on a 343 for the season, well at least for a while

How does this look to you?

    Guaita
    TAA / Castagne / James
    Son / Rodríguez / KDB / Zaha
    Jiménez / Bamba / Jesus

    Forster / Mitchell / Lamptey / Anguissa

    1.5 ITB

Weirdest FPL week ever for me I think (not that I'm complaining). 15 FPL returns between my cheapest 8, nothing from my 3 most expensive- including captain.

Keep or sell Adams with 1 million in the bank and a couple of moves already planned? The expected decrease in value is affecting me.
