Leeds come under the spotlight as we begin our look at the clubs with two fixtures in Double Gameweek 25.

The Elland Road outfit are coming off the back of a mixed run of results to face Wolves and Southampton in the coming Gameweek.

With a number of well-owned assets who are still receiving a lot of attention, Fantasy Premier League managers are backing Leeds players to deliver.

But are their high owned assets worth having? And are there Leeds players still flying under the radar? We assess their credentials in this Premium Members article below.

THE FORM

Bamford and Raphinha star in audition for Double Gameweek 25 2

Coming up from the Championship, Leeds have been a revelation this season, with their gung-ho style earning plaudits far and wide.

Their 40 goals this season can only be bettered by teams in the top six.

Unfortunately, this has come at the expense of having a solid defence, with Leeds also shipping 42 goals. Only West Brom have conceded more.

Their up-and-down season can be summed up perfectly from results in their last six Gameweeks.

A fantastic away win at Leicester along with confident wins over Crystal Palace and Newcastle are sandwiched between losses to Brighton, Everton and a battering by Arsenal.

Their 4-2 defeat at Arsenal also showed just how vulnerable they can be at the back without club captain Kalvin Phillips (£4.9m), who missed out through injury.

So, going forward, Leeds are one of the best attacking outfits in the league, just don’t expect them to keep many clean sheets.

I think it's 50/50 for a Sterling benching. It makes a lot of sense to rest for this game, then play the first team vs Arsenal and Gladbach back to back.

Depends if Pep feels that Sterling's pace in behind is particularly important in this game.

Thoughts on these moves. Budget is tight and leaves me with 0.1 leeway for these moves.

GW25 - Holding and Antonio to Struijk and Kane
    GW26 - Soucek to Barnes

    Plan to TC26, WC30/31, FH33

    2FT 5.7itb
    Pope
    Cancelo Stones Digne
    Salah Bruno Gundo Raphinha
    Bamford Antonio DCL
    (Martinez Soucek Cresswell Holding)

Only ever rolled once in last 100 game weeks! Time to extend my conservative record?

    Pope
    Stones Shaw Dallas
    Bruno Son Gundo Sterling Raph
    Bamford Vardy

    Martinez Tark Lowton Watkins

    A Roll
    B Vardy to Ings
    C Sterling to Mo
    D Vardy to Kane
    E other

General intention was Sterling to Mo in 26 and possibly Pope Tark to Areola Cancelo though that might wait to 27

Prefer security of Mo minutes in DGW. Intend to switch back to double City defence in 27

Happy enough to roll with Vardy over Kane. Chasing of course but Vardy is also an amazing differential among active players. 1% in top 10K for instance

I was planning on BB in GW26, but am now considering BB25 and WC26 (still have FH left to play). What do you think?

Current team (2 FT £0.3m ITB)

    Mccarthy Martinez
    Cancelo AWB Digne Coufal C.Taylor
    Sterling Salah Bruno Gundo Raphina
    Bamford DCL Antonio

Could do Antonio & Digne to Ings & Struijk (and then maybe Coufal to Vestergaard on a -4 if I wanted).

Would leave a BB of Martinez (LEI), C.Taylor (WBA), DCL (liv) and Gundo (ars)

Mean I can attack Southamtpon & Leeds for 25 and then bring in Spurs etc on WC for 26. Or is BB in 26 the way forward?

Nice team, mate. Personally I'd be wary of BBing with two players who aren't certain to play (DCL and Gundo), but that's just me. Not the most alluring fixtures for a BB either imo.

I don't have a grand strategy as of now myself (see post below), but when I'm unsure about these things, I'd rather hold the chips for when it feels dead-on right.

What are the main viable chip strategies out there going forward?

Really appreciate the help, guys. I'm usually very aware of these things, but have had so much on my plate this last month and so much is up in the air with loads of DGWs and not all of them confirmed.

WC this week and BB gw26 seems popular, but I really like my team for this week... anyways, thank you if you bother helping a fellow out.

Hold WC if team is good. Pretty sure you will get better opportunities in future GWs.

As far as BB is concern, if you can get a decent bench for GW26 with FTs and couple of hits, go for it.

Many are considering Kane/Son TC in GW26, so that's an alternative option if BB is not possible. FH will be handy in GW29/33.

      1. Holmes
        • 12 Years
        5 years, 4 months ago

In short, hold WC and FH for future GWs, use it if and when required.

Try to use atleast BB/TC in GW25/26 if you like the fixtures.

Also look at fixtures around DGWs and BGWs as they are also important.

Cheers mate! Yeah, these days I'm just living gameweek to gameweek, really, and try to do solid transfers that make sense for a longer period.

Yeah, Spurs DGW will hopefully be announced soon? Have a one-transfer route to Kane, so that's nice. FH sadly gone, so GW29 will be an interesting one...

Guess I'll think about Spurs, Villa and Leeds as primary transfer targets to play it safe, and just wing it from there. Thanks a lot!

    Still tussling with this one.

    Which BB26 setup is better?

    A) Kane, Raphinha, Struijk -8 (plus the additional Leeds fixtures in GW25)
    B) Ings, Grealish, White

I'd (c) Raphinha this week and maybe Kane in GW26.

I'm assuming these are for transfers for this GW.

If saints have 3 doubles I'd be tempted by B. -8 is a lot.

      Fixtures over the next 3:

      A) 4 + 4 + 4 = 12
      B) 6 + 4 + 3 = 13

Plus a chance Grealish gets another double in 27/28 too...

I can get Kane in now for free as I have 4ITB but that would mean I wouldn’t get Ings or Raphina for this week along with other DGW26 that I want. I can still prob get 10 DGWers but just not the ones I want. I just don’t see when will be a better time to use it? Maybe I’m wrong but I think going this way and trying to ahead of the curve is better than using post 29 which people seem to suggest?

It's gain now or gain later. If Kane is a core part of your plans. Get him early so youn don't have to worry about a plan to get him.

Remember all this extra planning you're effectively buying one extra game of LEE-SOU. Is that worth changing your core plan for?

When you put it like that that’s fair enough. I need Justin and Adams out of my team too though and if getting DGWs Kane son Martinez etc I don’t want to be taking big hits when I have a WC.

Depends on your team, the chips you have left and confirmed 26 fixtures. This should dictate whether to WC or not.

You could easily have a good team for 26 without having to WC and use FTs to get a number of players for 29

I agree with Adams and Justin. You need to transfer them out. I wouldn't be in any rush to transfer out Coufal as he has a game in 29 and can stay on your bench until then. How does your WC draft compare to your current team?

Im having a pretty bad season, sitting around 500k, i think WC25 BB26 set up to have 7-9 GW29 players is the way i want to play with no FH left.

Play Son over Lowton? Silly question right? I was actually considering playing Lowton.

Not sure how much already playing Cresswell was factored into this decision tho.

I would play Son and Lowton and bench Cresswell

Alioski to Dallas worth a -4 for the DGW? Getting fed up of Alioski being dragged before the 60 mark and Dallas is being played OOP.

Probably, if you intend to keep dallas longer term

Both Won’t keep a clean sheet prob but Dallas has the potential to score much bigger if ever was a time to do it it’s in a DGW

    Pope (Martinez)
    Cancelo, Stones, Dallas (Coufal, Douglas)
    Salah, Bruno, Son, Gundogan, Grealish
    DCL, Bamford (Antonio)

With 2FT + 3.6 itb and plans to bring in Kane for GW26 what should I do?

    A) Antonio > Ings (just for DGW25)
    B) Douglas > Veltman (deepens my bench and provides player for GW29)

Foden and Stones owner. What are the chances they both start? Seeing as I also have Gundo and Mee, nervous I might be without any players tonight..

The article wrote this "Their 4-2 defeat at Arsenal also showed just how vulnerable they can be at the back without club captain Kalvin Phillips (£4.9m), who missed out through injury."

Sorry, Phillips isn't our club captain. Liam Cooper is. But yes missing his presence does make it feel like he's our leader and captain

What's your thoughts on Struijk for the double? He has looked a decent threat at set pieces in recent games. Also has Phillips injury affected Dallas role in midfield?

    Dias or cancelo on wc?

Cancelo imo but a tough one. Definitely more upside with Cancelo but Dias more security of starts

Toss a coin - Cancelo's extra attacking threat will be offset by the times he misses a game/cameos and Dias picks up 6-9 points
