Should we now be looking at Fulham’s defence in FPL rather than targeting it?

Fulham’s strong recent performances, especially in defence, have seen the Cottagers climb to one point off safety.

After losing their first six games at the beginning of the season and conceding 14 goals in the process, many classed the west London outfit as the top-flight whipping boys.

But manager Scott Parker has completely turned their fortunes around, and no club has conceded fewer Premier League goals than Fulham in their last six matches.

Their improvements at the back have not resulted in any kind of Fantasy bandwagon, however, with their highest-owned defensive player being goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (£4.5m).

Instead of targeting the Fulham defence, should we now be looking to add their defenders to our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams?

I have 2 free transfers, and I want to have to for BGW29. Which imposes me one now.

A. Pope to Forster (just so I don't lose FT, funds)
B. DCL to Bamford (downside: good fixture for DCL)
C. Digne to Targett (downside: good fixture for Digne, double up on Villa defence)
D. Salah to Bale/Son (downside: ditch Salah)
E. Something else?

  I’m regretting my KDB (c) decision too but after that performance at the weekend I can see him in there today. And Saints don’t look convincing at all defensively (a clean sheet vs. Sheff Utd doesn’t count!) so chin up!

    Fearing the same. I've been a loyal Gundogan-Dias-Stones owner for a while now, in hindsight seemed a daft move. The silver lining is I brought Cresswell in for Stones, so could be worse.

    I know what you mean, I think it's too early to write off. It just seems City have been the only team to consistently score goals give Uniteds recent patch, so on paper having two attacking assets made sense. And basically preferred KDB to Sterling.

  Hmm, tricky position to be in with 2FT as you're already pretty well set up for 29. You could do the Cancelo move but seems odd to lose a City asset against a relatively goal-shy Fulham. Considering Salah -> Bale at all? I'm probably looking at losing Shaw or Keane in 29, best to save the other FT for next week I guess.

A fixture against the potent attack of Leeds?

One game fewer but they've scored the same as Fulham in the last 4 game weeks. 3 of the 5 they have scored came against Southampton close to their worst. Perhaps they've been a touch unlucky - Bamford in particular - but here's the thing

26 goals in 7 fixtures
20 goals in the other 20 fixtures

They're a feast or famine attack really. Admittedly one of their hauls was against Fulham but that was way back when when Fulham were an entirely different side.
