It is back to basics for Fantasy Premier League managers in Gameweek 28 as we face the first round without Doubles since Gameweek 23.

However, it must be said that the captaincy conversation has been thrown wide open by this week’s fixtures.

Manchester City face a Fulham defence that has improved in recent months, Liverpool are out of form, Manchester United face a West Ham side gunning for Europe while Spurs prepare for a north London derby.

CAPTAIN POLL

Harry Kane (£11.3m, 26.5% of votes) and Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m, 24.2%) are the leaders in this week’s poll, combining for over 50.0% of our users’ votes.

Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m, 8.5%) has been voted third this week, although with the Belgian international now having started in each of City’s previous five league games, this number could drop by Saturday morning due to rotation fears.

Ilkay Gungodan (£6.2m, 4.9%) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m, 4.2%) close out the top five.

      I’ve been looking at this. I think a FH is wasted in 29 due to the lack of opportunities to spread the resources. If you are picking the best FPL assets of that week you could conceivably end up with Kane, Son and Bale in your team along with Martinez, Targett, Grealish as well. But obviously they are not All Going to come out with points so the guy who has 6 of the ‘right’ players could come out with the same score (more or less) as you with 11 FH players.

      I am keeping it for FA cup week when my team will be missing 5-6 first teasers instead. Can get a much bigger score differential using it that week.

      33 more upside as there are plum fixtures. 29 you could get away with about 7-8 core players.

      Im attacking 33 with my FH after initially going for 29.

    Guys, I'm quite happy with my team but got two FT already (which "forces" me a transfer now), and seven playing GW29 players as of now. What would you do?

    Martínez / Pope
    Dias / Stones / Cresswell / Digne /  Dallas
    Salah / Bruno / Gündogan / Raphinha / Soucek
    Kane / DCL / Watkins

    A playing defender, e.g. Dunk, instead of Stones/Digne would be an option, but I fancy their GW28 fixtures.

    Salah to Bale would be an option as well, but I don't have the b*lls to ditch Mo, especially now with Fab back in midfield.

    What do you suggest? Might as well downgrade Pope for funds...

    Just seen the DFS advert. It's bad enough hearing famous people you respect endorsing random or bum products and services. It reminds you that everything is just about money.

    But seeing Wallace and Gromit being used for advertising is just so lame. Getting a little excited about the possibility of a new Wallace and Gromit short, knowing the effort that goes into making them, the institution that they are, it was such a shame to realise that it was all for the sake of serving a corporation with enough money to buy them. Damn it Wallace, you sellout!
