As the 2020/21 campaign rolls towards its conclusion, Fantasy Football Scout are looking to make another new signing.

Hot on the heels of the full-time arrival of Charles ‘Az’ Phillips, we are looking for a full and/or part-time back-end developer to come and assist our development plans for 2021 and beyond.

While ‘full-stack’ skills are always welcome, we are really looking for a back-end developer with a few years experience capturing requirements and delivering projects with experience of PHP, WordPress and MySQL.

Main Duties Include:

  • Supporting the existing site and tools
  • Developing new features

Back-End Skills (Needed)

  • API design and development
  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • Apache
  • WordPress
  • Ubuntu
  • Ansible

Front-End Skills (Useful, but not essential)

  • HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • Query
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

Experience

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

Setup

Full-time role desired, but we can also consider part-time (two to five days per week).

We do work remotely but, ideally, we would like to get together in person on occasion, so if you are based in/around London (or able to get there relatively easily), that is an advantage.

However, those that work outside of London should still feel like they can apply. Talent is ultimately more important to us than Postcode.

If you are interested, then please APPLY HERE: jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

If you can include samples of your work as well as your CV that would be most helpful.

Don't mind this rotation tbh. May just end up coming down to whether one wants rotating keepers for the run home or just have one playing and take advantage of 3.9m 2nd choice. Just worry also about Arsenal defense

Yeah, just couldn't find a single GK who I would be happy to play till end. Pretty much every GK has tricky end of the season.

        Patricio has tot, eve, MUN
        Kasper has mun, che, TOT
        Martinez has crp, tot, CHE

Just noticed that Meslier has bur, sou, WBA. Patricio and Meslier might also work.

Good point. Do you trust Patricio/Wolves for points even with the fixtures.

I do trust them, still a top half defense in my opinion but that could just be due to previous season performance.

Checked their last 10 PL games.

            Clean Sheets : 4
Goals Conceded : 9 (but 4 were conceded to Man City, so 5 in remaining 9 games)

Not sure about their underlying stats but that looks fine to me.

All good information. For me it is Sais or a punt on Alonso with bench back up. If I get Alonso I will captain him and have Kane VC. I have FH but no WC so I might look at things differently.

Looking myself. Mendy and Forster is probably the alternative and can be planned from this week.

Mendy and Forster looks decent as well. Do you think Forster is nailed or you dont plan to use him whatsoever?

I don't rate him but McCarthy is not trusted. With DGW's it is worth taking a calculated risk IMO.

With no WC left, looking to set up my team for the run in. Is it worth it to take a -12 hit over two weeks(-4 this week and -8 the next) if all these players, bar injuries, will probably be staying in my team till the end?

    1. Holmes
      • 12 Years

Depending on outgoing players, maybe you can do that over 3 weeks to reduce the hits to -8pts. If not possible, then its fine.

Chelsea have too many fixtures to keep up the clean sheets for much longer. Forget Mendy, Leno and Patricio look good going forward.

      1. MJF
          5 years, 14 days ago

Have to disagree there. Chelsea have the best defence in the league right now based on form. Arsenal certainly don’t, and often look shaky, while Wolves have nothing to play for despite having good fixtures.

I’d favour Mendy over Leno and Pat all day.

          Game of opinions I suppose.

            Bale and Alonso for me.
Newcastle are so poor atm that even a cameo could see points for bale.
Alonso has great attacking threat but a bit of a rotation risk, who is on your bench?

Assume you mean 30 ; has to be A but its an almighty punt. Bale played quite a bit over the break, if Son is fit he may well be benched.

Who to have on WC as 5th midfielder?

Raphinha has some tough fixtures but Leeds are Leeds. Who knows what will transpire. Neto on my watchlist but he seems to rely on counter attacks without backup.

Morning dzz, can't decide when to WC. Have both WC/FH available. My team for gw30 below

          Martinez -- Areola
Konsa Dallas Digne --- Stones Dunk
Raphinha Son Bale Bruno -- Gundogen
          Kane (c) Bamford DCL

          A: WC31 / FH33 as planned
B: WC31 with no city and 3 spurs who I can bench in 33. Save FH for future doubles/blanks
C: As I have 3 spurs already, play through dgw32 and WC33. Issue here is my defence isn't ideal for 31/32 but can do Konsa > Rudi for a hit

Agreed the popular choice will be Kane. But on that basis would it mean the chip will be less effective? If most people are standard captaining him you won't actually gain too much more but using the TC on him, no?

Only if you calculate on a week by week basis. If he hauls he’s still a great choice over the season. Any TC haul is great surely

Thank you for the response but forgive me as I don’t quite understand what you mean by that. Kane is a great choice over the season, granted. But I don’t get what you mean by a week by week basis. What I was meaning to say was for example if Kane scores 10 points over the this specific DGW alone, and everyone has him captain so they all get 20, all who have him TC will only be getting an extra 10 points more than the majority of people, as a lot of people will have him captain in some capacity, whether it be normal C or TC

It doesn't matter which week you play it over the season. What matters is your total points count.

                  33 in 32 does better than 30 in 35.

Thinking you're better off with a differential in 35, say, you also need to calculate that you would generally captain a differential that week too to make the comparison valid.

                  33 + 10 > 11+ 30

Past 2 seasons I've used it in GW38. Kane always delivers here. But I get tempted to use it on Auba this time around vs Brighton. Auba has a great scoring record on a Sunday.

Is the set up (including bench order) correct here we reckon?
Debating whether I should be starting Cresswell (over Stones or Watkins).

          Martinez.
          Shaw, Dallas, Stones.
          Fernandes, Lingard, Raphinha, Son.
          Bamford, Kane, Watkins.
          Steer, Cresswell, Odegaard, Burn.

I think you have it right. Cress first one bench is the way to go incase Son won't make it or Stones gets rotated etc. Would probably drop Watkins before I considered dropped Stones for Cress, I have no faith in him other than hoping Grealish returning can help him

I still holding to Salah and initially plan to get rid of him on my WC on GW31.
but Liverpool has a good run of fixtures and they still have to fight for a European place.

I haven't really tweaked the WC team much, but based on the consideration above, should I keep Salah or move to someone else like Jota?

Probably keep Salah unless you needs the funds, good fixtures like you said, on penalties and will be wanting the golden boot

Jota could easily match Salah for half the price, easy decision for me. Jota and TAA

Which of these 2 WC teams are more balanced?

          Team A
          =========
          Mendy / Forster
          TAA / Rudiger / Cancelo / Coady / Coufal
          Fernandes / Salah / Son / Gundo / Raphinha
          Kane / Antonio / Brewster

          Team B
          =========
          Mendy / Forster
          TAA / Rudiger / Dias / Coady / Lascelles
          Fernandes / Salah / Son / Gundo / Neto
          Kane / Antonio / Brewster

Ultimately what you’re asking is which is better combo for 5th mid and Defender. Raphinha and Coufal or Lascelles and Neto and for me I’d say Raphinha and Coufal. Makes the option of a 4-4-2 more appealing as well imo if you ever want to bench Raphinha over a bad fixture

As long as you have decent backup on the bench, he's a decent punt with those fixtures.

Seems to be starting the approx 2 out of 3 games.

People who plan to wildcard in 31 see it as a potentially explosive defensive option for a 1 week punt.

No international duties, Chilwell away and playing with England, Tuchel likes height against teams like West Brom. Seems likely to start.

If you have Bale surely you have to play him against Newcastle. Should get 20-30 mins even if he doesn't start.

            Watkins hasn't done much recently.

moved house, haven't been on for a couple of weeks. Can anyone simplify the general thoughts on when to use WC & why? I have seen a few comments saying GW31-33 would be best - thanks

WC 31 as thats when the fixtures have a big swing and you can also focus your new team around BGW and DGW in 32/33.

I like the sound of Dias, Rudiger and Shaw as a back 3, TAA could be good with the fixture swing but currently nowhere near his price tag!
