Kalvin Phillips (£4.9m) is a surprise absentee for Leeds as they travel to Brighton in Gameweek 34.

The central midfield player has been a pivotal figure for Marcelo Bielsa’s men this season and a key cog in the defensive set-up that has conceded the second-fewest number of goals in the last six Premier League matches.

Phillips was not listed as an injury concern in this week’s media briefing although he was forced off against Manchester United last time out.

His absence means Pascal Struijk (£4.0m) could mean moves back into midfield after a string of centre-back outings deputising for suspended captain Liam Cooper (£4.3m).

With the skipper still missing, Robin Koch (£4.3m) makes his first start since Gameweek 11. While Diego Llorente (£4.4m), Ezgjan Alioski (£4.3m) and Luke Ayling (£4.4m) making up the rest of the back-four, Koch could also be used as a Phillips replacement – one to watch at the Amex Stadium.

Stuart Dallas‘ (£5.3m) role could be one to watch today with Mateusz Klich (£5.2m) start for the first time since Gameweek 27, when he was hooked at half-time against West Ham.

With Tyler Roberts (£4.6m) also involved and Hélder Costa (£5.0m) also missing, the Northern Ireland international could be on the right-hand side of midfield. Alternatively, Alioski could be used on the flanks of midfield with Jack Harrison (£5.4m) and Dallas at left-back…

Meanwhile, Brighton line up in a 3-4-1-2 formation with Danny Welbeck (£5.5m) and Neal Maupay (£6.0m) leading the attack in front of Leandro Trossard (£5.7m).

Dan Burn (£4.2m) comes back into the side at left wing-back after missing the Sheffield United game while Joel Veltman (£4.4m) leaves the three-man defence to play at right wing-back.

Brighton and Hove Albion XI (3-4-1-2): R Sánchez; White, Dunk, Webster; Burn, Bissouma, Groß, Veltman; Trossard; Welbeck, Maupay.

Leeds United XI (4-1-4-1): Meslier; Alioski, Koch, Llorente, Ayling; Struijk; Harrison, Roberts, Klich, Dallas; Bamford.

New features are fine but they should really be tested a bit better first rather than deployed & hoping for the best.

In the old days if an issue was continually being discussed like that Mark or someone senior would have jumped in to comment to explain the situation. Nowadays they don't care. Shame.

            Hi Daniel,

Generally sorry if that's how you feel, but I'd like to assure you that it really couldn't be further from the truth.

FFS have invested sizeable amounts in editorial content this year (the vast majority of which is free), have grown the tech team to try and address issues and add new features, plus brought in additional people on social, video and membership side all to try and improve the content and service we provide to the community we love.

I've been a part of this for more than a decade now and I can say with all honesty that we have never provided as much or invested as much back into the site and community.

Whilst other sites I could mention are entering the fantasy football space with a nakedly commercial vision (i.e. to monetise the space and sell out the company as soon as possible), we have continued to provide loads of tools and content for the wider fantasy community alongside premium services.

I am absolutely not going to say that we get it right all the time and there's 100s of things we want to do but haven't got round to (many of which we will do in coming season). However we are listening ALL the time to feedback, we are open to criticism and we do take it on board whenever we can.

Anyway, sorry for the soapbox, but I just wanted to let you know we are here and we do care.

I do see people on the site replying at times, e.g. Got explanations on the adverts recently.

However easily missed page by page. Hot Topic or article to explain wouldn't go amiss.

Hi guys, just to check in on this.

The liveblog feature was basically something to replace the fact we weren't posting on social this weekend.

It's a third party plug-in not something we developed ourselves. If it's causing problems, we can simply stop using it, we were just trying something out.

Also we did in no way 'hang on till the death' with Football Index, that's just a lie. We put the deal on hold the same evening they announced the changes that caused the issues and didn't post anything since.

Just to confirm that due to popular demand we are going to bin the 'live blog' update for the next games.
Sorry for the inconvenience, we thought it would be a useful addition but appreciate it's caused annoyance to some (if not all).

I think his confidence is in tatters, which doesn't help. He did very well in the Bundesliga - I think it's worth giving him another year before everyone gets over-cynical about him.

Anyone else think Spurs could do worse than get Potter in?

He has a whiff of early Rodgers to me. The league position is wretched of course but Brighton have played some very good stuff this season. He seems to have figured a really good defensive set up and the personnel are no better than Spurs really there and if you put Son and Kane up top the lack of goals might be sorted 🙂

That he's obviously not frightened to play youngsters might be a benefit too.

Way ahead of Eddie Howe in my book.

Howe spent loads and a good part of his success was based on 4/5 players and there is huge difference between how Brighton and Bournemouth set up and play against big boys. Howe was all at sea there.
