I’ve captained benzema and mbappe in my two fanteam entries.

A real chance to climb the cash rankings. Anyone think they can smash the Swiss 5-0 or something? I really need the points.

I have Ben vice in both my entries, went Depay as cap, doh!

What's your rank? I've slipped to 1332 and 7672 in last GW. Still both in the money slots though so can't complain.

James McNicholas (The Athletic): Ben White & Albert Sambi Lokonga deals nearly done. Rúben Neves under consideration, Arsenal enquired for Locatelli, player prefers move to Juventus. Tyler Adams an option for RB, Mert Müldür being monitored as well as Miguel Gutiérrez. Initial contact made for Aaron Ramsdale. Odegaard unlikely as he does not look inclined to push for an exit. Maddison probably too expensive.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this. Can these signings make Arsenal compete against the best teams in England within a year, two or three?

I think it all comes down to if whoever is coaching them is able to get the best out of whoever comes, if you bring in Ben White does that mean you've given up on Saliba or if he still a work in progress

seem like good signings to me, right age profile as well. for too long arsenal have been buying players that are too old / not good enough, and with the wrong attitude as well. not sure whats going on with Saliba there must be more to it than meets the eye.

Arsenals problems will take more than 1 window to fix!

Arsenal haven't had a backup keeper since selling Emi. I guess Rammy would rather sit on a Premier League bench than play for a mid-table Champo side on a third the wages.

Watkins is not a natural centre forward, they could easily play both together and likely would. You don't make a big money move to go from Chelsea's bench to Villa's, and with 14 Prem goals and 9 assists in your first season, there is no chance Watkins doesn't start.

Oh nice, didn't know Watkins used to be a winger. That would be a pretty nice attack if they kept Grealish too.

Tammy would be the better pick.in that scenario then, cheaper and more central.

Liverpool's home FDR went down to 3 sometime in the 2nd half of last season after they lost 6, I think, in a row at home. They couldn't keep a clean sheet to save their lives at Anfield and weren't scoring many goals there either.
The other only slightly related but interesting anomaly that happened last year -- due to the fact that home field advantage completely vanished last season -- is that a couple of teams currently have a lower FDR at home than they do on the road (Liverpool and Everton). I believe this is just statistical noise (I had only seen that one other time in the 5 seasons I've been tracking FDR as part of my statistical model), and we'll start to see the home field advantage return this year with fans back in seats. More than likely, Liverpool FDR will be back to 4+ by week 10.

Difficult to predict his style - he had to use the crap resources at his disposal at Newcastle. I don't see DCL being much affected but Digne could be less offensive. Also depends on James leaving and a creative midfielder coming in to supply chances.

Admittedly I am not trying particualty hard, but I am amazed how I managed to make a complete hames of my Euro Team after a great start matchday 1.

Matchday 2 wildcard would better off been done.

Knockouts unlimited did not go well I will have five plus players who will be eliminated. So it could be max 7 minimum 6.

Yet I went for the WC back in matchday 2 despite people logically telling me that unlimitless was the way to go. As wildcard could be better used later in case last 16 predictions to QF go wrong. I decided to go with the wildcard gameweek 2 for the craic still.

Lesson learnt do not vere too far from the sensible crowd I will start 'template as f**k' with my fpl team.

Bruno at £12m is brutal, because you really need him and Salah in MF, but that kills your budget, especially if you want TAA in defence.

      1. Qaiss
        • 10 Years
        5 years, 1 month ago

I don’t think Bruno is as essential as you might think. Salah sure, but if you look at Fernandes’ first 11 games or so, you’re probably only going to captain him once, maybe twice. For a 12m asset, that is not worth it.

I have him down for captaincy in GW4 and 7 in my draft.

Not owning him for that Newcastle fixture is the worry, when Salah is at Leeds and De Bruyne plays Leicester.

GW4 was the one I was thinking for Bruno. But apart from that, I’m not sure where else.

Kane also has Palace away that week which is decent. Salah has Chelsea GW3, Kane has Watford. Kane and Salah have very nice captaincy rotation and if Kane left, to go to City, you could captain him almost every week.

Will Maupay start every game? Welbs just signed new contract and is fit.

    Afternoon all

Just tinkering with my first draft, my main lessons from last year were

    - don’t try and be to clever
    - avoid to many tinkering defensive transfers
    - don’t try and be to clever

So I’ve made this draft, my plan is to pick as much ‘set and forget’ defence with 1 nailed bench defender in ailing

In mid going to take a couple of punts in the 6.5 range and focus most of my transfers there at the start hopefully if need be

    Sanchez
    Cresswell Robbo shaw
    Sarr buendia salah (c) Bruno
    Dcl Watkins Antonio

    4.0 ayling bissouma/Gilmore 4.0

    What do you think ?

perfectly reasonable... the only things im trying to make sure is that i can jump into Havertz (if #9) or Kane (if Man City) in 2 transfers if i need to, as they are the players Im actually wary of at the start of the season. which in many cases means not having too much stacked in defence

I like it. But it needs TAA!
