The 2014/15 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) champion, Simon March, discusses his Gameweek 1 draft in our latest team reveal video on YouTube.

Simon chats to Joe about his 3-4-3 set-up for the opening weekend, including his slightly leftfield pick of a £5.0m goalkeeper when so many of us are plumping for a £4.5m option between the sticks.

Burnley’s defence is represented, while the former FPL winner has eschewed attacking full-back options in the form of Lucas Digne (£5.5m) and Luke Shaw (£5.5m) and opted for the steady drip-feed of points from Ruben Dias (£6.0m).

Leicester City’s fit-again Harvey Barnes (£7.0m) – who scored on Wednesday – also makes an appearance alongside some more ‘template’ midfielders.

Up top, Simon discusses his thoughts on Danny Ings‘ (£8.0m) move to Aston Villa and what it might mean for his initial Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) pick.

Ivan Toney (£6.5m) also makes an appearance in the three-man frontline.

You can watch Simon and Joe in the embedded video below, while you can see all previous YouTube team reveals via this link.

And if you missed it, you can read Simon’s first Pro Pundits column of the season below:

You’ll be able to read Simon’s articles throughout the season with a Fantasy Football Scout subscription, which also gives you access to our new Premium Members Area.

Not gonna let Pep troll me for yet another season - not a single Man City ålayer for me this tear.

At the start of the season, they were excellent picks. It was later on that they became too open to rotation

Cancelo, Dias, Gundogan and Mahrez should be good for the first three GWs

Might get short minutes as others are introduced to get the blood running.

£23million is a big spend for Leicester and he scored 27 goals and 7 assists in 28 league games last season. I am sure Daka will be given a chance will it be at the expense of Vardy or Nacho? Most likely Nacho I would think

Not unwise. It's incredibly frustrating to have £8-12m benched. Forcing knee jerk. Then next game week the jerk scores with his knee. It's a kick in the teeth/knee. Spin the wheel pep you B&$@£RD!

Pep on where Grealish will play: "He can play up front of course, mainly on the left, but as a winger, an attacking midfielder or as a striker. Many positions with his quality. I don't have any doubts he will suit the way we play and his desire to be an exceptional player." #MCFC

I'm glad he's narrowed it down

Other than Bernardo, do we have a sense of the other players who want 'out' of Man City? - I was surprised to see that Zinchenko was only on about £20k a week? Is Cancelo really earning less than Nathan Ake?!

      - Other than players themselves being fed up with Pep roulette, I am sure there will be a few who are likely to be p!ssed off by Jack's wages...? Who else do we need to keep an eye on / angling for a move...?

Hard to know. Sterling maybe? But he's had such a good Euros and only really dropped out of the City squad at the end of last season. But Grealish could be direct competition for him as well as Foden. Jesus you'd imagine should be wanting out, even with Aguero hardly available at all last season Pep still seemed to prefer playing KDB, Foden and Torres in Jesus' position over him

Iheanacho. What are peoples thoughts on his early season prospects? He was in lethal form at the back end of last season and Leicester's early fixtures aren't too bad. Not seeing him in many teams though..

This. I was set on Iheanacho as one of my first picks in my first draft that wouldn't move but it looks like he will play deeper or be rotated more than I thought

Really want him but settled for Antonio for the first 4 games instead and then a switch if he's getting minutes.
If he plays the whole game tomorrow then I will probably get him straight away.

Debating whether to downgrade Bruno to upgrade 3rd striker? Thoughts on this....

    Sanchez, Foster
    TAA, Digne, Shaw, Cresswell, 4.0
    Salah, Bruno, Buendia, Raphinha, Barnes
    Toney, DCL, 4.5

    A) Bruno and 4.5
    B) Havertz and Ings
    C) Havertz and Antonio

    Bachmann

I think you have to think about the position and price:

Position: there are lots of good alternatives to Robbo in defence. Presumably, your alternative to Antonio is going to be 4.5 fodder, which means basically 0 value from them.

Price: I think FPL have priced Roberston according to his potential, based on history. Antonio seems to be priced in case he gets injured or West Ham gets competition. While he's fit, with no competition, I think he is the winner of the two options.

Robbo becomes a 4m defender, the 2nd player doesn't matter , it is just Robbo v Antonio v Greenwood

One of the main things (rightly or wrongly) putting me off Son over Bruno is seeing that City fixture in my starting 11.

That said, Son could be starting upfront and on pens. Yes he loses the partnership with Kane but becomes the main man in his absence. If Kane stays he regains the benefits of playing alongside him. No bad situation really.

Bruno on the other hand likely will play slightly deeper and surely United’s penalty record can’t continue, especially with rule changes?

Who are people on at the moment alongside Salah… Fernandes, Son, or someone else?

Son. The best time to play City is GW1 when teams are a bit rusty. GW1 is a bit of a leveller.

Bruno = possibly overperformed last season and the podcast from this article suggests he will be playing deeper and get less pens. Late back from the Euros and Man Utds preseason ruined due to Covid... expect a slow start.
Son = OOP + possibly on all set pieces.

Son has an excellent record against City, Spurs haven't a bad record against them and first week City might still have a few players not ready after the Euros, I wouldn't let that put you off

Cheers guys. I like the mane choice as it allows me to get to kdb/Bruno easily.
But it is a better option.
Then need to choose between jota, greenwood and barnes...

We just need Willock to go there now. He did well when Wilson was out of the side last season

Seen Pep comments on Foden and KDB injuries on twitter. Also Bernarso wanting to leave apparently.

Good case / good framework to believe Mahrez and Grealish could have decent gametime over the first GWs?

We all know it’s a roulette but seems a good context to have Mahrez or Grealish

Wow, well I think that cements Mahrez in my team then. Grealish might very well start the season too then, and Gundogan could still be an option
