Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout can now get their own Transfer Planner to help with their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) preparations for the 2021/22 season.

In a laboratory nestled deep under Scout Towers for the last few months, our very own Az has been joined by Rob and James, the brains behind the Championship Manager FPL game, in concocting a Transfer Planner exclusively for Fantasy Football Scout subscribers.

FPL pre-season: Trossard hits hat-trick from wing-back role 1

The Planner allows you to enter your FPL team as it currently is and then to set to work on what you would like it to become over the next few weeks, taking account of transfers, captaincies, chips and formation preferences.

The road ahead is kept up to date for you via a link to the Fantasy Football Scout Season Ticker and, if you think we’ve been a little too harsh on the Burnley attack or not given the Southampton defence enough credit, you can tweak the ratings to your satisfaction (or wildest dreams, as appropriate).

HOW TO USE IT

To get started, you fill in your player selections in the dropdown at the top of each player box on the Planner tab. Typing in the first few letters of a player name, or even “4.5” or “MUN” brings up a relevant shortlist to choose from.

Those same dropdown boxes are used to select your potential transfer targets in the columns for coming Gameweeks and your proposed starting XIs are indicated by tick boxes. Your transfer plans will be neatly summarised via In and Out sections at the foot of each Gameweek column.

If you want to narrow your focus to the next couple of unusual Gameweeks or jump ahead to consider the consequences of a hit there are “+” and “-” options for hiding and re-showing columns at the top of the Planner and Fixture Ticker tabs.

If your chosen FPL device doesn’t have an attached keyboard then downloading Google’s “Sheets” tab provides full functionality for mobiles and tablets.

HOW TO GET ONE

You’ll need to be an FFS Member to request your Transfer Planner. A link to the request form is available at the left-hand side of the Premium Members area. Fill that out and your sheet will be on its way, though please be patient during this initial release as each one must currently be despatched manually.

Once your Transfer Planner arrives, it may take 20-30 seconds to load when you first use it. The Transfer Planner needs an internet connection to stay active and may sometimes need to be refreshed to re-establish the link.

We genuinely think we’ve created something that’s simple, clean and that Fantasy managers will really benefit from using. Fill in the form now to start sorting your Jotas from your Willocks and paving the way for that pre-planned early Wildcard.

    (bottomed)

I've ran a couple of drafts, one with more premium players and this with a more balanced side and strong bench. I hate having bench fodder, in the past it's shafted me when I have had players benched or needed to make a transfer and have no funds to do so. Anyway, thoughts on this side and thoughts on the lack of premiums, Salah and I guess VVD aside:

    Martinez - Sanchez

    Shaw - Stones - VVD - Coufal - Tsimikas

    Barnes - Salah (c) - Grealish - Greenwood - Saka

    Ings - Antonio - Toney

I like it and get the idea and agree flodding the bench with 4.5, 4.0, 4.0 is going to backfire at some point but think your bench is too strong.

I'd probably look at ESR instead of Saka, to save 1.0m then one of the multiple 4.5 defs instead of Coufal,

You could then spend that 1.5m on Greenwood or Stones to get players who are likely to play every game for more than a few weeks/rotation risks.

I think it lacks another premium yes. And you wouldnt wanna bench any of your front 8 imo, so downgrading one to upgrade another to a premium could be an option.

Me personally wanna have at least 2 of Kane, Bruno, Salah and kdb

    Thoughts on this? No TAA.

    Sanchez
    Shaw Coufal Targett Tsimikas Amartey
    Salah Fernandes Mahrez Jota Barnes
    Ings Antonio 4.5

    1. UnluckyXI

Amartey a risk from week 2 with Vestergaard joining so you'll likely have 2 non playing defs by week 4 and city players coming back to compete with Mahrez.

This with possible Jota rotation and a 4.5 fwd means an early wildcard.

Good point. I'll downgrade Targett and get Ayling and White for security.

With Mahrez and Jota, I'll transfer them out.

Drop overpriced Mahrez all day, but you'll regret dropping Jota. Teams practically there now, you'll hardly be wild carding just to sort bench fodder

      In the last 4 seasons:

Points per game per mil so adjusted for their price and when they actually play as Salah has a lot more minutes.

      Salah 0.61, Mane 0.54

      Points per 90:
      Salah 7.6, Mane 6.45

So for the extra 0.5 you get a lot more

Ziyech was my GW1 punt 2.1% ownership before last night's match, he was having a great pre season and I'm sure he would be under 3%. I was annoyed (but happy at the same time :-)) that he scored because it would undoubtedly grow is ownership %, but furious to know he got injured. My edge out the window. Thanks FPL God's.

Trying to get somewhat away from the pack, am I crazy?

    Sanchez | Foster
    Shaw | Veltman | Ayling | Tsimikas | Amartey
    Salah | Bruno | Son | Mahrez | Raphinha
    Ings | Toney | 4.5

0.0 ITB. I do like the $ tied to Son & Mahrez and the ability this provides to move easily to other big-hitters. What are your thoughts?
TAA and Benrahma over Mahrez and Veltman is possibly a safer choice but maybe that's because it is more popular. Undecided.

Anyone considering Tanganga as their 4/5th def? 4.5M and looked great vs Arsenal (grabbed an assist and played rb). Could be preferred to doherty and aurier. I know its a risky pick, but wanted some thoughts on it..

Salah (c), Bruno, Mahrez, Benrahama, Raphinha

    Which is better:

    B) Ings Wilson (Gilmour)

A way more fun but B probably safer

    2. Dr. Rog
      • 16 Years

I have asked this earlier and got 5 B's, no A's.

For what its worth, it wasnt the answer I wanted to hear though (we all love a bit of confirmation bias), so Im leaning towards A.

      A few reasons:
      1) City vs Norwich! If that were a GW1 fixture Mahrez would be in EVERY draft.
      2) Mahrez looks pretty nailed with all these injuries and his pre season, so less concerned about pep.
      3) As a cash cow Mahrez can become pretty much anyone, including Son for GW3 if funds permit.
      4) Villa have a new lineup - it is reasonable to think they wont hit the ground running.

      Reasons against:
      1) The 3-4-3 structure is the best by test. Gilmour > Obefemi, although as 3rd sub this is unlikely to be relevant.
      2) Its slightly easier to get to Kane/Lukaku from 343 structure (also 7.5-8m forwards).
      3) If Toney flops, I dont see many appealing options to escape to.

      1. Dr. Rog
        • 16 Years
        4 years, 4 months ago

I also checked both FFS and Fix expected scores and A comes out a bit better on both, and over all time frames up to 6 weeks.

      2. Zladan
        • 8 Years
        4 years, 4 months ago

Wow, I am shocked! But great that we are on the same wavelength at least. I was certainly expecting people to back Mahrez.

My reasoning is pretty much aligned with yours.

If Toney flops then we are stuck with 1 up top and expect Toney to fall in price drastically. Very hard to move him up to Ings...

As has become the trend though, we have seen a shift from 3-4-3 to 3-5-2 over the last few years. I’d like as much money in that midfield as I can get.

Neither Lukaku nor Kane (Chelsea/Spurs) actually interest me until GW7, and without them really it’s a case of juggling the 7-8m forwards. Just how many you want/need. So I wonder do we need money up top just yet.

I think the reason I’ve posed this question is I have a bit of Ings FOMO after seeing his ownership % and opening 3.

        1. Dr. Rog
          • 16 Years
          4 years, 4 months ago

one thing to realise as well is price wise ALL forwards have been increased whilst Def/Mids are either the same or lower (Liverpool the exception to this rule).

so if 352 vs 343 was becoming a marginal choice before, then all things being equal it should be clearly in favour of 352 given the pricing. still i dont like Obefemi it just makes my team look ugly. hopefully someone like Eddie or Tammy gets a move and opens up the budget forwards a bit more.

    Sanchez 4.0
    TAA Shaw Tsimikas White Amartey
    Salah Bruno Mahrez Benrahma Brownhill

Only issue I have is GW3 because it looks like Amartey will lose his spot I’ll have to play double Liverpool defence vs Chelsea.

I don't get the logic behind Mahrez or any City mids right now. How do you know they start any of the next two/three games? Surely in GW1 you want guaranteed starters, and I've seen people saying that they're going to use an early transfer to swap them out for Son etc. but surely there will be other issues in your team by then? Is there an injury or something that I'm missing that makes them more appealing?

Mahrez has little competition in his position right now and played well in pre-season. No reason why he wouldn’t start given the injuries and absentees.

Why are people opting for Raphinha over Harrison? 20% v 5% ownership.

I’d back Harrison to outscore Raphinha again this season.

Opting for Bamford over the mids as there's so much choice in the mid price midfield bracket and can't see me finding space for Leeds mid

Harrison has great value at 6.0, the best one can find and will outscore anyone at 6.0 or under. Raphinha has fks and cks though and with similar PT he can outscore Harrison, 0.5 difference is fine and both will be excellent picks at their prices.

    Sanchez Foster
    TAA Shaw Coufal (Amartey White)
    Bruno Salah Barnes Jota Benrahma
    Ings Antonio (Obafemi)

Is TAA worth 3.5 over Tsikimas from the start?
