Kostas Tsimikas (£4.0m) is handed a first-ever Premier League start as Norwich City v Liverpool brings a busy Saturday of top-flight football to a close.

Kick-off at Carrow Road is at 17:30 BST.

An ankle injury picked up by Andrew Robertson (£7.0m) in pre-season has opened up a spot at left-back for Tsimikas, with the budget Fantasy Premier League (FPL) defender’s ownership soaring to over 23% as a result.

There are no real shocks in the Liverpool line-up, with Diogo Jota (£7.5m) getting the nod over Roberto Firmino (£9.0m) to lead the visitors’ attack.

Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), FPL’s most-owned midfielder, and Sadio Mane (£12.0m) flank Jota up top.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m) is part of a back four that includes Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m), who makes his first Liverpool appearance since suffering a knee ligament injury last October.

Jordan Henderson (£5.0m) and Thiago Alcantara (£5.5m) are both absent after late returns to pre-season training.

Budget FPL defender Andrew Omobamidele (£4.0m), who played every single minute of Norwich’s pre-season friendlies, misses out with tonsillitis tonight.

Daniel Farke has opted for a back four after a late dalliance with a wing-back system in pre-season.

Chelsea loanee and bargain-bin FPL midfielder Billy Gilmour (£4.5m) is handed his competitive Norwich debut.

LINE-UPS

Norwich City XI: Krul, Aarons, Gibson, Hanley, Giannoulis, Rupp, Gilmour, Cantwell, Lees-Melou, Rashica, Pukki,

Subs: Gunn, Zimmermann, Dowell, Tzolis, Sorensen, McLean, Sargent, Mumba, Idah

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Keita, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Jota, Mane

Subs: Kelleher, Fabinho, Konate, Firmino, Gomez, Minamino, Origi, Woodburn, Elliot

All about the long term and your picks from here mate. So many people pick the same players for GW1 so tough to end up with a high OR. Great foundation to build on.

same score here with 3 to go

11 points from bench boost saved me. Albeit should have been 16 points but switched out Amartey almost last minute.

          Charlie Taylor of Burnley

82 and I'm on 573,000, always best to get a template 1st GW in, then start looking for the differentials after that
If you lose out in the first week trying to be smart it's very difficult playing catch up

Dont forget some of these people near the top have dead teams - so will quickly disappear. Also, lots of high up teams will have had triple captain on Bruno - over the season that's only 20 points to make up.

Evening guys, just looking a bit of advice about the draft league

This morning I requested a transaction of DCL to Lukaku before anyone else

Will I get Lukaku or will it go to the lowest points scorer in my mini league or something?

    1. JabariParkersEyelid
      • 6 Years
      4 years, 8 months ago

The lowest point scorer will have first priority.

    2. The Legend Squad
      • 11 Years
      4 years, 8 months ago

Priority is based on reverse of league standings, not on timing I’m afraid.

Some talk in my draft league of throwing week 1 to bag Lukaku. I may have done that, though not purposefully!

I agree. But much of that 1.25 probably came from the Alisson ping pong when the score was already 3 0. So also shows the importance of Alisson for clean sheets !

No penalty yet? Shocking, where is VAR? 😛 Early last season best FPL team was 'penalty takers' team ...

Several incidents that would’ve been penalties. But the Villa still got one

Was that Ings goal a pen? Apols did not watch.

14th in the FantasyFootball members league and 1st in the Top 10k league.

      Not a bad start.

Amartey & Jota 2 pts up vs. Tsimikas & Greenwood for now. We'll see next week.

Salah imo. Home advantage. Went from Bruno this week because of the same.

It is. Glad I don't own both of them. Would hate to pick the wrong one.

        Easy. Bruno.

United are playing arguably the worst defence in the league, and Salah doesn't have a good record against Burnley.

I swapped Jota out for tsimikas (nervous about amartey playing)

      Feels a justified swap ATM.
I can say at the moment that other than this, none of my other punts I'd had in my team at various points have punished me! Yet...

until Tsi gets sick during the week then it's a wasted transfer...

Buendia and Barnes over Sarr/Benhrama and Greenwood (saw Pog mentioned but never considered)/Gundog is potentially looking like a bit of a regret.

Having said that, NEW and BRE with nor for Barnes

Graham Potter says that Joel Veltman was absent today because had come into close contact with a person who had tested positive for Covid-19.

It looked to me like Rafa changed to 442 in the second half. Even though DCL scored he didn’t do a lot. Unsurprisingly didn’t look match fit. Last season 442 hampered DCL when he wasn’t the focal point. I’d prefer Rich for the price short term then see how it goes.
