All eyes will be on St James’ Park this afternoon as Newcastle United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the first game since the Saudi-led takeover.

Kick-off is at 16:30 BST.

The Magpies’ are given a boost by the return of talisman Callum Wilson (£7.3m), who has been out since Gameweek 3 with a thigh injury.

Jamaal Lascelles (£4.4m) also comes back into the starting XI, with Federico Fernandez (£4.4m) dropping to the bench.

As for Tottenham, they are unchanged from the side that beat Aston Villa in Gameweek 7.

That means another start for Son Heung-min (£10.1m), despite suggestions that he wouldn’t be involved due to a positive Covid-19 test.

GAMEWEEK 8 LINE-UPS

Newcastle XI: Darlow, Manquillo, Lascelles, Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, Longstaff, Willock, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin, Wilson

Subs: Gillespie, Schar, Shelvey, Lewis, Hendrick, Fernandez, Fraser, Murphy, Gayle

Spurs XI: Lloris, Royal, Romero, Dier, Reguillon, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Moura, Son, Kane

Subs: Gollini, Sanchez, Tanganga, Davies, Winks, Alli, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Gil

Brought in Kane as a one week punt because didn’t rate Lukaku’s fixture. If he scores again it’ll be hard to drop him for Lukaku, even with Rom’s fixture next

That’s what I worry, might just keep Kane and captain Salah. Will see how the rest of the game plays out but have a feeling now he’s off the mark…

He's been absolutely shocking so far

Only 3 goals in 5 games vs City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Villa... next game vs. Southampton goal marginally disallowed, shot comes back off post for Chilwell's goal, and Werner steals his tap in for Chelsea's second goal. Goal disallowed in a quiet/bad game vs Brentford yesterday.

160 goal involvements in 260 premier league appearances

He is so shocking it's not even funny

Norwich, Burnley, Newcastle next three too, absolutely zero chance of returns - sell, sell, sell

Personally I'd definitely give him the next three

His fixtures start cooling when Utd's start warming up - and I'm not honestly sure Ole will still be there around GW14 so a move to Bruno or CR7 might be good timing around then

But the way things are going, a Salah-only big hitter team with a lot of mid-price dudes might be the way to go anyways

Lukaku is lucky he has this fixture run. If he didn’t who would pay so much for a guy likely not on pens, might be rotated and plays for a relatively low scoring side

        1. Quan MisTaka

Hes a trap for sure. Wont massively (or at all) outscore other players at lower price point.

          Vardy
          Wilson
          Antonio
          DCL

Will be around the same amount of points come the end

          1. Thomas Magnum
            5 years, 7 days ago

Definitely agree. The key will be jumping on the guys price between 7-8.6 at the right times (Wilson whilst fit, DCL when he goes on his signature goal runs) theres already a case for Salah perma captain anyways so that’ll be one less headache. The question will be whether to bring in United players when they go on their nice fixture run or if that’ll be a congested fixture trap

I know it’s said every year, but there may soon be a case for a front 3 of players priced between 7-8.5. Or maybe 2 of those plus Vardy

          I’m going cheap myself

Lukaku can score v Norwich but Chelsea are not free scoring and Kane tends to drop deep too often

Ronaldo fixtures are bad. Only one possibly I’d consider is vardy but again he’s hot and cold

Much better value in midfield with the likes of kdb and mane

            5 years, 7 days ago

I like that idea a lot also. As I said above there’s the case for Salah perma captain so no real need for the expensive attack if you’re unlikely to C them. KDB/Mane still very nice differentials (albeit expensive) Lukaku just felt like a follow the crowd pick and the high ownership made him hard to ignore for a lot of people

Brentford and everton are diffcult games. I'd give antonio one more game. Hes a proven asset. Moving to wilson seems sideways and point chasing.

But if your game is to move and gamble, then you do you

Neither. Wilson seems a downgrade on Toney / Antonio, and Mount should do well the next few games so I’d find another way to get Raph
