Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester City is the last of six Premier League matches being contested on Saturday.

Kick-off at the Amex is at 17:30 BST.

There are a couple of high-profile benchings on the south coast in the form of Shane Duffy (£4.4m) and Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m) but no real shocks aside from that, with the other main players from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective all involved from kick-off.

Solly March‘s (£5.3m) recall and Duffy’s demotion to the bench is the one change that Graham Potter has made from the side that drew at Norwich last weekend, so Yves Bissouma (£4.5m) once again has to content himself with a place among the substitutes.

Pep Guardiola’s two changes from the midweek Champions League win at Club Bruges sees Gabriel Jesus (£8.6m) and Ilkay Gundogan (£7.2m) come in for De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez (£8.7m).

Raheem Sterling (£10.7m) misses out as a precaution.

All three of the Manchester City players who can boast a double-digit ownership, Ruben Dias (£6.2m), Joao Cancelo (£6.3m) and Jack Grealish (£7.9m), start this evening.

Cancelo is by some distance the most-owned City asset in the top 10k, with Phil Foden (£8.0m) a distance second:

GAMEWEEK 9 LINE-UPS

Brighton XI: Sanchez, Dunk, Burn, Veltman, Gross, March, Lallana, Moder, Cucurella,Trossard, Maupay.

Subs: Steele, Lamptey, Webster, Connolly, Bissouma, Mac Allister, Mwepu, Duffy, Richards.

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, Gundogan, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Grealish, Foden Jesus.

Subs: Steffen, Stones, Ake, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Edozie, Palmer.

So I’ve hit the WC and punted on Havertz while getting rid of Foden…should quit playing FPL, my moves make no sense

Why sell foden. You must be bought him a week or 2 before. He was delivering too.

Thought WC is good for some punt and was intended to even get Foden back for next week but this week ehhh…

Leeds play Tuesday night. The first question in his pre-match presser will be about Raphinha.

Hold them trannies till then at least.

I’m pretty sure this is my worst GW in 12 years. Started bad having sold ESR this week.

Then Captain Hunvertz draws a quite remarkable blank.

Chilwell starting over Alonso AND scoring compounding my misery.

Then that Brighton goal doing my double City defence in.

    Raphinha being GBH’d

    What joys will tomorrow bring?

    1. Crunchie
      5 years, 16 days ago

      Yep same here.

4 left Salah captain, Trent, Antonio, Vardy, Livra at least to come off the bench for Azpi. No Havertz but a Saka scare almost made me plunge for Mount but never mind. I did not gamble on hits

Going big in defence worked early and seemed the right thing to do at the time

    2. Wrong Captain Choice - Ag i…
      5 years, 16 days ago

The only one's out of that list that was unlucky is the loss of the City clean sheet and Raphinha been injured. The rest is not that much of a shock and self inflicted damage. I brought ESR in two gws ago as I could see the flashes he has in games. Plus was great value.

Raphinha looked very lively for Leeds by the way. Everytime he got the ball there was danger. I got him in for a -4. And will be keeping. Even 30 mins v Norwich he could do well.

No point, hours of time invested each week for a game that’s 95% luck in order to get it to the top 10k of a game you’ll never ever win that even if you do win has a pathetic first prize

      See you next week

      1. Salah’s Sonnet

      1. Qaiss
        5 years, 16 days ago

It is yeah, next season I’ll just look at my team once a week and not have expectations. When you get very into this game, it becomes less fun because it’s 50% skill and 50% luck.

        1. PartyTime
          5 years, 16 days ago

Yes but It’s 70% luck 30% skill imo

          1. Qaiss
            5 years, 16 days ago

I’d even agree with that tbh

        2. Cok3y5murf
          5 years, 16 days ago

Research has shown that it is around 65% skill...

            What research?

            1. Cok3y5murf
              5 years, 16 days ago

A Twitter thread from some analyst. Either way, it's always been more skill than luck. I can tell you've had a bad gameweek/season and being salty. FYI, I'm having a bad gameweek too

              1. Qaiss
                5 years, 16 days ago

Why is everything you say on this site just out of pure spite? You and that Ginkapo dude are something else. I had a very good season last season and the one before.

I am on 27 points, the average.

                1. Cok3y5murf
                  5 years, 16 days ago

Then why the whole 50% skill 50% luck? You know that's nonsense. Over the long term, your skill shows. In a single gameweek, a lot of luck for sure. I'm on fewer points than you this week

                  1. Qaiss
                    5 years, 16 days ago

Say I went for a 3 week punt this GW, Havertz or Mount. Currently 21 point swing, when either option would have been great this week. Are you saying that’s luck or skill, for such a big point swing? It’s luck. That point swing could be the difference between top 10k and finishing outside the top 20k (think it’s usually 25 points or so?). I know skill wins over the season but these days, the skill is getting less and less with so much spoon feeding anyway.

Even 35% luck is still pretty high.

                    1. Cok3y5murf
                      5 years, 16 days ago

This gameweek, that's luck and a 21-point swing. Over the 3 weeks (which haven't happened yet), that swing will be different. Honestly, they are both unproven, "punty" picks.

And for every example where you got unlucky like this, there are examples where you would get lucky over the season too. It's not always unlucky outcomes. For instance, when I picked Benrahma in GW1, I really didn't expect him to do that well. That was hardly any skill and more of just luck. I could've easily picked a Buendia or Bowen instead.

                    2. Qaiss
                      5 years, 16 days ago

I didn’t pick Havertz btw, I just used that as an example.

          2. Salah’s Sonnet
            5 years, 16 days ago

            100% luck

        4. Edalock
          5 years, 16 days ago

More like 10% luck 90% skill... Else casuals will win after 38 GWs instead of 8.

Think it's mostly proper planning. Yet to take a hit this season and I just moved from 72k to 11k pending tomorrow's results. Bought and captained Chilwell cos I expended the CS and saw him retaining his spot.

          https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/196024/event/9

It's a marathon, you'll be fine if you're playing the long game

          1. PartyTime
            5 years, 16 days ago

What if a manager is a victim of PL refs making wrong decisions & never at the right end of it in the game

Would it still be 10% luck?

Other scenarios including roulette & injuries. Things that one can’t really use skill to solve when the gw is locked in.

            Imo, 10% luck is rubbish

    6. Qaiss
      5 years, 16 days ago

To not be so engaged with it. It’s meant to be something for fun, not to the point where you watch a football match to watch your 4.5 defender lose a clean sheet in the 90th minute.

Lukaku/Havertz will never be a good option because of the way Chelsea operate but people just get get sucked into picking "the bloke up top"

The overloads mean that Chilwell/James and to a lesser extent Mount/Kova will always be better options for FPL in Tuchel's system.

Just seen Mahrez scored. Mahrez to Havertz gone well. Who would’ve thought he’d outscore him in 4 minutes while Havertz comes away with nothing as the striker in a side who score 7. Raphinha has a “knock” according to Marcelo Bielsa but they don’t know the extent of the injury just yet.

It looked nastier than a knock in real time that’s for sure.

Ha, dude your Foden, Mount and James combo of 55 points alone is more than double the GW average..!

Can I be inside top 500 after the gw ends? 🙂

      No.

Most players have 5+ players to go. 3 guys won't cut it especially if you captained Salah with the herd.

Will be happy to be inside 1k tbh

It's never good when you've less points after subs come in. Shocking stuff. 19 with 4 to go.

Hate to do an early transfer, but I've got the exact money to sell Duffy for Chilwell and it ain't gonna be there tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

There must be some level of control. Beyond a point it makes the forum too negative for the rest.

Was Duffy rested? Benched and they were schooled so still a good option presumably.

    1. Andy_Social
      5 years, 16 days ago

Yes, and he is. Alas, he's my only way in for Chilwell, so he gets sacrificed now. Thanks for your 37 points Duff, 'preciate it.

I'll keep him. 4th defender. Got him for 4.0. Thankfully he's also playing great stuff for Ireland too.

He might be tonight, but officially he's just had a knock. Sell him when you know he'll definitely be out for next GW. Gonna be loads of hits taken before then, one or two less can help your Or.
