We round up the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points of the day in FPL Daily, a weekday series that serves non-Premier League matchdays and days when we don’t bring you a team news/press conference round-up.

BLANK GAMEWEEK 30 LATEST

We have three more confirmed blanks in Gameweek 30 of Fantasy Premier League after Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth-round ties, bringing the current total to five.

Burnley v Southampton, Norwich City v Chelsea (more on that game in a bit) and Liverpool v Manchester United are all postponed, along with Manchester City v Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace v Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United will go ahead in Gameweek 30, however, along with Arsenal v Aston Villa, Leicester City v Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leeds United.

We’re likely to have six fixtures off in Gameweek 30, as Everton would have to lose to non-league Boreham Wood on Thursday in order for their fixture against Watford to go ahead:

GAMEWEEK 28: NORWICH v CHELSEA SET TO BE ADDED

More FPL Gameweek 30 blanks confirmed as Chelsea get Double Gameweek 28 1

Double Gameweek 28 will now be one match bigger as a result of Chelsea progressing in the FA Cup tonight.

Norwich City v Chelsea – originally scheduled for Gameweek 30 – will now move to Thursday 10 March and the two clubs will now ‘double’ in Gameweek 28 as a consequence.

The Blues will be away at Burnley and Norwich, while the Canaries will host Brentford before welcoming Thomas Tuchel’s side to Carrow Road.

We’ve reset the ‘best captain’ poll results on the sidebar, with Chelsea assets now added.

Watford are not easy breakdown, dont score much alright. Bowen away a Liverpool. I think that bench gets 10 points max, just my opinion. I have a bench of Sanchez, Cancelo, Son and Toney, not even keen on BB that.

Is it mad that I want Thiago Silva over Rudiger even though I could afford either? Just dont like the idea of going with a CB who only gets bonus when he gets a very occasional attacking return. If Bur-Che ends 0-0, its a pretty safe bet to say bonus goes to Thiago Silva & Pope, right?

    1. TopBinFC
      • 3 Years

Yeah good point, but I dont see Silva playing both games whereas Rudi probably will. I dont see Silva playing 3 games in a week (Burnley Sat, Norwich Thurs, Newcastle Sunday)

Sat & Thurs sounds doable after a rest last night though. Its the Newcastle game I'd be more worried about but have bench cover then & not so annoying if be misses SGW fixture

          • 3 Years
          3 years, 9 months ago

Yeah maybe, no one knows. Silva is a class player and they will spare him for the run in. I feel Newcastle is a tougher fixture than Norwich hence why I think he will play that one and rest v Norwich but who knows, all guesswork.

    Considering a -8 this week for DdG + Bowen + Roberts > Foster + Havertz + Coady.

This leaves me with 0.1 ITB:-
    Foster*
    TAA - Cancelo - Coady* - Digne*
    Saka - Salah - JWP* - Havertz*
    Kane - Jimenez*

    Ramsdale - Dias - Ramsey* - Broja*

Would you bench boost this? On an optimistic side, I see about 20 points on this bench

Think I like C. If you're doing A anyway, might as well get the extra doubler for Gallagher (bad fixtures) to complete the BB. Only downside I see is dealing with triple Villa after this week but Ramsey is the one I'd most likely keep anyway

I was all set on the non-Reece route for the FHDGW28 following Tuchel comments on him having 20 min in the engine according to the medical staff but eventualy had to play 65 during the EFL final.

But seeing him entering the field yesterday at the 76 mark while Chelsea was drawing at that time and again with a potential extra time to be played was quite surprising wasni't it? it meant Tuchel was ready do play him again for 45 minutes..

I think after the blank gw30 James will be a season keeper. It’s either gamble for 28/29 and hope he gets game time/returns or play it safe with Rudiger and then bring in James from 31 either replacing or alongside Rudiger.

Listen, we've all bought some crap players with or without double gameweeks. So I'm not afraid to buy Chelsea players who need to start performing better if they want to finish third. I don't know how else will you make up ground against 10k/100k template if you have exact same players as them and regularly/always identical "safe" captain on top of that. FPL is about taking risks and looking for opportunities. But yeah, there's many ways to play the game and we think differently.

Good point mate, I'm only having banter by the way. As I've said before on here its only a game and a bit of fun. I'm thinking of punting on Wood this GW so that tells you everything!

I have a horrible feeling James starts the first game and hauls and starts the second….and hauls and then every man and his dog bring in James.

Hauls the first. Hauls the second.
Then everyone buys him for next gameweek and he’s benched for the CL LOL

    A) Ronaldo & Cornet to Kane & Willock
    B) Ronaldo & Mee to Kane & Digne/Cash (this has GW30 in mind)

-4 to do either of the above

    or something else?

    Hey guys,

I am considering changing formation to 4-3-3 to fit in chelsea defenders for their appealing run in. I'm thinking if Chelsea clean once, I break even on the hit. What do you think?

Bowen, Dawson, Emerson > Alonso/James, Rüdiger, Gordon (to use with the bench boost chip in his 29 double).

My reluctance to commit to double Chelsea defence now is mainly because James is the stand out option but isnt quite match fit. Thinking of Rudi/TS this week, James in 31.

Yeah, it's a consideration for sure. Better to be a week late than 3 weeks early, and all that...

Morning guys, what would you do here, obvious choice is Dalot > Chelsea defender? I can only afford Thiago Silva without taking a hit. Would you do Dalot > Thiago Silva, or would you do Dalot > Rudiger & Weghourst > Someone like ASM/Hwang?

    Ramsdale
Taa - Cancelo - Robbo - Ait Nouri
    Salah - Son - JWP - Coutinho
    Broja - Maupay

    DDG - Weghourst - Dalot - Bowen

    Rate the wc:

    Ramsdale (Foster)
    TAA Cancelo Rudiger Kilman (Amartey)
    Salah Son Saka Raph (Gordon)
    Kane Broja (Dennis)

Would you bench Taa for Saiss this GW or is this madness?

Most will play TAA, however Saiss could easily outscore him.

Dont like the idea of benching Trent ever really, but Saiss has to play

Trent has to play. Goal and assist last time vs Hammers
