We have chosen our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 31 ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

We line up in a 4-4-2 formation and are limited to £83.5m for our first XI.

Our four substitutes, meanwhile, are always picked from the budget/cheaper crop of players, not to serve as bench fodder but to give some alternative options who don’t cost as much as some of the names in our line-up.

GOALKEEPER AND DEFENDERS

The best FPL goalkeepers for a Double Gameweek 26 Free Hit 7

Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) and Nick Pope (£5.4m) were both in the goalkeeper conversation this week: they are third and second respectively for projected points in the upcoming Gameweek. Everton’s league-worst away form gave Pope the edge in our eyes, with the Toffees to come to Turf Moor after the reigning champions hand the England international the opportunity to rack up the save points on Saturday.

With question marks over whether Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.4m) and Reece James (£6.1m) will be rushed back into Premier League action given the double-headers against Benfica and Real Madrid that await, Andrew Robertson (£7.3m) and Joao Cancelo (£6.9m) are the stand-out premium defenders this week – although it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that one of these two pricy picks gets a benching, with one eye on Tuesday. Third and fourth behind only a certain Egyptian and Alexander-Arnold for FPL returns this season, Robertson and Cancelo will also be up against the two teams who have scored the fewest number of goals in 2022.

I like it, Coutinho is the one to watch. Villa don't currently perform well against the top 6 teams but you're gtg!!

Was sort of wanting to do Coutinho to Gordon maybe but dont really fancy Everton much, also wanted Ramsdale to Pope but cant afford that on it's own

Villa have a blank, 6 fixtures against lower league teams and 3 against top 6 where you can bench him.

I'm going to be wildcarding and FH soon so I only need someone for the next 2 gws, is it worth keeping coutinho and ramsdale?

              I'd keep Ramsdale.

I'd sell Jiménez unless you have transfers and funds to improve in midfield.

Coutinho could do well against club Portugal this weekend.

Would you recommend any final changes to this wildcard?

    Ramsdale Guaita
    Cancelo Matip White Chalobah Doherty
    Salah KDB Saka Kulusevski Barnes
    Kane Mateta Cucho

    Thanks

I personally would still go big at the back, no TAA, Robbo, James and less in the front three. What other chips do you have to play still?

I have purposely traded off on Liverpool premium in defence to punt on upsides in midfield along with Kane. A bit of a differential including captain on KDB. I'm currently on VC Kane and betting against Salah for some rank gain or risk this week.

I may swap KDB and Barnes to Mahrez and Havertz in a few weeks and refine defence for a BB36 or 37 as the fixtures fall. I think both of those may be protected for the Champions League games.

Will FH33 so not building towards that.

Like the team. Love squeezing KDB in. I think Matip, Barnes, and Cucho to Robbo, Martinelli, and Gelhart improves the team. That third forward is last on your bench anyway. Robbo is huge upgrade to Matip and Barnes/Martinelli pretty even.

I'm 0.7m off that, Robbo is too expensive and it would be 4 Arsenal so I'd have to have fodder in midfield to afford it anyway.

Looks decent, i think Bowen is struggling so you'll likely get Broja first sub.

Ramsey could be a good option too.

Really wanna get some City assets but right now not feasible. I did have Cancelo until GW29 when I did Cancelo & Jimi > Doherty & Kane but right now I'd have to do Ziyech/Maddi & Doherty > 5.1/4.6(Gordon?) & Cancelo.

Ramsdale to any of the below keepers for a -4? Will be using for 2 GWs as I'm gonna FH33 then WC34.

    1) Fabianski (EVE, bre)

That could work if Havertz is held back for Real Madrid.

Did they play much international football? I think Havertz played and scored in the first Germany match.

If it wasn't for the double you'd play Lacazette over Gordon i guess.

Could work away at Burnley. Is it 2 away games? Everton need to sort it out quick.

I think Arsenal could win 3-2 at Palace with Lacazette involvement.

            Thanks!
Yeah Gordon is the easy bench normal weeks, but with two games he edges it.

Can bench TAA because risk of a cameo so big.

Or Kulu because Newcastle has really sorted their defence, and Spurs normally dont score alot in games like this?

If I bench an arsenal guy I bench Saka cause I feel Laca is due..

            Not easy!

Trent could just as easily start and get points.

Saka and Lacazette could do well.

Are Everton away at West Ham? They'll probably struggle there so essentially it's Gordon away at Burnley plus a potential bonus at the London stadium.

              Dgw Everton bites again?

Gordon two away games, but they got alot to play for and always fun with doublers!

    Current squad : -8

Anyone else think it could be a great gw for a free hit? I've only 1 free transfer left but I'm miles behind in my league and need to make ground soon. How about this for a team?

    Pope

    James Robertson Doherty Laporte Cancelo

    Mane(c) Sterling Mount Son

    Richarlison

    Heaton Gordon Gelhardt Greenwood

If cashing in Trent it needs to be for the season, otherwise Son to Kane is the trade off i think.

Been shifting those two. I have a feeling Gelhardt will get good minutes in this game.

Depends on you backup keeper and tactics regarding GW33. B looks good but in GW33 will Weghorst still be an option?
