Gameweek 2 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is drawing ever nearer and while some of us are content to roll a transfer after the opening weekend, there are head-scratching decisions for other FPL managers to make as we approach the Saturday deadline.

So whether you’ve got a Harry Kane (£11.4m)/Erling Haaland (£11.6m) dilemma, are considering a Darwin Nunez (£9.1m) move or doing anything in between, five-time top 1k finisher and Scout’s Deputy Editor, Tom Freeman, will be here to answer some of your conundrums over the next 60 minutes.

He’ll be on hand to first reply to requests from Premium Members in the Hot Topic below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up.

If there’s time, Tom will also turn his attention to other requests in the comments section.

As ever, you can chip in with your own opinions on the raft of RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, feel free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

Don’t forget that, if it’s an algorithmic answer you’re after rather than an opinion-based one, we also have a ‘Rate My Team’ tool available in the Premium Members Area.

Because we created absolutely nothing against Bournemouth, and Gerrard has said before we look better offensively in a diamond. I reckon he starts this one, though, but he needs a big performance to stay in.

A nice easy one to get started then 🙂

... personally, yes, I think Gerrard's comments were quite positive earlier and he'll be given another opportunity.

However, local press suggested he'd be dropped for a second striker earlier this week, so there is always a chance.

If you were wildcarding, what would your midfield look like in a 3-5-2 IF you'd decided to drop Salah?

Will Perisic come into the starting XI Vs Chelsea? Does Conte trust him more in these big games

He probably does but not so fast yet. I reckon Sess deserves the start again

It would be a big leap from the bench to having his first start against Chelsea away.

Feel bad for Perisic and Kane owners. They're gonna drop in price even before their match starts. And then could drop more if they blank after their match which is likely since its Chelsea.

    1. Qaiss
      • 10 Years

Then they will haul against Wolves when people don't own them and Haaland blanks against Newcastle.

Haalands gonna haul against Newcastle since they don't play low block. More likely he blanks against Bournemouth. And I'll have Perisic anyways if Conte says he's ready for that match. So nonowners are winning

    Some more Perisic, Tom.

At this point, would you stick with him, or get in someone like Walker for him? I even have 0.5 ITB, so could get James (or Dias).

My alternative would be to suck up the price fall(s) and likely play Andreas. Thoughts on that?

At this point I don't see too much upside in owning Perisic, from gw4 when 2 games a week kicks in I can see him being rotated.
I don't see him starting gw2, so better off moving on imo

Salah having a great record vs Palace or him never scoring in GW2...

Which is the narrative of choice this weekend?

The GW2 narrative is surely just a coincidence! Don’t think you can read anything into that.

That makes a bit more sense because it’s the opening game of the season, more time to prepare, more fired up etc. But the more you get into the season the less relevant it is. Imagine if it turned out he’d never scored in GW12 or something - no one would bat an eyelid.

    Repost

My front 6 GW1,and posted this a couple of days ago.

    Salah Sterling Mount Saka
    Jesus Bamford

This gave me a chance to figure out who is going Haaland or Kane without bashing my head having to do Kane to Haaland.

Many are still sitting with Kane and no Haaland.

I don't think Jesus the highest owned player will be the highest owned in a couple of GW's from now but I had to go with him GW1.

    My front six now

    Salah Kulu Marti
    Haaland Darwin Mitro

It comes down to owning Kane or Haaland. Owning both leads to sacrifice.

I should have gone with my gut from GW1 but rather got popcorn to see how everything played out.

Please post your GW2 midfield and forward line

you took a nice punt on Chelsea scoring 3/4 and they didn't turn up - unlucky! mine is:

      Son Diaz Martinelli Bailey
      Haaland Bamford Alvarez

      1. FOO FIGHTER
        • 7 Years
        4 years, 18 days ago

I had to take that punt because Neto and Bailey were bound not to save my GW so my plan was to go Sterling and Mount to have a chance with my strategy of waiting to see which way Kane and Haaland goes.

Lesson is always go with your gut and if I did, my rank would have been beautiful.

It would have been interesting if Kane had a mother haul GW1 whether the switch to Haaland would have happened.

You either own Kane or Haaland and is why many some have not made the switch yet.

Hmm, depends how you view 'sacrifice'. I have a front 3 of Haaland, Kane and Darwin with Salah, Martinelli and Diaz in midfield plus 4 x 5m defenders. Looking at the performances and average positioning with the likes of Sessignon, Royal (or whoever nails a place when Doherty and Peresic start) Zinchenko, Walker, Tripper, Cucurella etc. there is real value there plus all are interchangeable.

I do like him but Frank has said he's not ready & given that he had quite serious injury/health problems last year, I'm wary of jumping in too early. Also very happy with Aaronson as my 5.5 mid for now

Got so many problems this gwk, the stress is unbelievable.

    Play Bailey or Bailey
    (C) Salah or Salah
