The second and final Premier League match of the day is a big one, as Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby.

Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 16:30 BST.

Thomas Tuchel makes two changes for Chelsea, with Marc Cucurella and Ruben Loftus-Cheek coming in for Ben Chilwell and Cesar Azpilicueta, both of whom are substitutes.

That suggests Reece James will feature as a right-sided centre-back alongside Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Mateo Kovacic, meanwhile, misses out because of a knee injury, while Marcos Alonso is absent as he finalises his transfer to Barcelona.

As for Spurs, they are unchanged from Gameweek 1, with Matt Doherty and Ivan Perisic on the bench with new signing Richarlison.

However, they are without the injured Clement Lenglet and Oliver Skipp.

GAMEWEEK 2 LINE-UPS

Chelsea XI: Mendy, James, Silva, Koulibaly, Loftus-Cheek, Kante, Jorginho, Cucurella, Havertz, Mount, Sterling

Subs: Kepa, Pulisic, Chalobah, Broja, Hudson-Odoi, Chilwell, Ziyech, Gallagher, Azpilicueta

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris, Romero, Dier, Davies, Royal, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon, Kulusevski, Son, Kane

Subs: Forster, Doherty, Sanchez, Richarlison, Gil, Perisic, Tanganga, Moura, Bissouma

Although I want to get Cucurella in, I will hold off another week onto my double Arsenal. Chelsea just are not that good at the moment, especially their attack. Spurs defence a bit of 50/50 but I love their attack.

    Right, 2 FTs. I gotta fix this, or am I overracting? 57p GW1, 42 GW2 w/ *3 to play;

    Mendy
    *Trent, *Robbo, Cancelo, Chilwell, Perisic
    Son, *Diaz, Grealish, Martinelli
    Haaland (c)

    Ward, Andreas, Greenwood Taylor

    Team I'm thinking;
    ^Ederson, Ward
    Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Cancelo, ^James, ^Cucurella
    ^Kulusevski, Martinelli, ^Benrahma, ^Dasilva, Andreas
    Haaland, ^Darwin, ^Jesus

Just seen the overhead shot of Spurs first goal. It's not offside. Mendy can see the ball (I have Mendy in my team for what it's worth & I'm also a neutral)

    1. Zalk
      • 15 Years
      4 years, 8 days ago

He can see the ball because he takes a step to the left, because Richarlison is in his line of sight...and offside.

      1. @persecuted_by_mods
        4 years, 8 days ago

        Mendy can't see through people?

      2. Zenith UK

        4 years, 8 days ago

He doesn't step to the side, he's leaning, he can see the ball. Koulibaly is in the same pathway more or less.

ball goes over Koulibaly back leg - if he's nowhere near and just Rich standing there then fair enough

        1. Zalk
          • 15 Years
          4 years, 8 days ago

From Mendy's perspective it's Richarlison that covers his sight. Doesn't matter if Koulibaly is there.

I'll be honest I'm less bothered about the 'offside'. On the whole agree Mendy had an okay line of sight for most of that - it's just awkward because the ball whizzes by right next to him & it's hard for Mendy not to take a Richarlison into account due to that - hence interfering.

The fould before was more my issue. Players both knew it. Stadkum knew it. Everyone watching it know it. There's a close up of the Spurs players foot on the ball, but that's after they've already undercut Havertz leg first.

      1. Zalk
        • 15 Years
        4 years, 8 days ago

Agree on that. There were so many issues with this game from the ref's perspective, but the three glaring one's for me was. The Havertz tackle, the Cucurella hairpull and the offside, all related to Spurs goals.

But if Romero's foul on Cucurella is nothing then I guess you can do whatever you want. So by that standard, it's not a foul.

Bentancur tackle was not a foul. The hair pull was a foul, refs missed it, VAR can't give a foul
