Sonaldo and Pras are here to discuss the key points of Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), before looking ahead at the main questions heading into Gameweek 4.

Like many established names in the FPL community, Sonaldo had a poor weekend although Pras was boosted by having both Ivan Perisic (£5.5m) and Aaron Ramsdale (£5.0m).

They look at the tight turnaround caused by the imminent midweek Gameweek 5 and how much rest time each team gets, before analysing the last round of games one by one.

To end, both reveal their ‘bus’ teams for Gameweek 4, discussing plans for transfers and captaincy.

GTG or would you do Neto > Aaronson?

    Martinez
    TAA Cancelo James Trippier
    Diaz Salah(c) Martinelli Neto
    Haaland Jesus

    Ward Andreas NWilliams Greenwood

I would rather have Aaronson but even more, I would rather roll the transfer and open up more potential options for the next round. Neto probably needs to go, but his price drop for the GW is already done, so may as well roll.

Yeah I guess so, nick another 0.1 but I guess always handy to have a playing keeper on the bench just in case of emergencies.

It will come down to the players you pick for your starting 11.

Maximise points for each starting position. In your case going maybe 1 Premium could work out if your budhet is too low for 2.

Tbf if I just ride with the Leicester goalies til Christmas it levels the playing field in terms of value in the outfield. Surely they have to start returning more than 1 point per week.

I don't see any signs of improvement - quite the opposite if/when Fofana goes. It must be painful seeing 6 points leak off that position each week. If I had a Leicester keeper starting, I think I'd take a hit to upgrade him to one of the decent 4.5 options.

Thoughts on Haaland captain vs CRY ? Maybe not as clear cut

    -City better form than liv
    - at home,
    - hasn't blanked yet,
    - unlucky not to have returned more , Salah has had some luck
-Cry play more expansive than Bou, likely to sit in low block

    1. LAMELA_AND_CONSUELA
      • 8 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

Of course Haaland can score against anyone and City looks much better than Liverpoo, but I think that there is no better fixture than Bou at home. If you are not going to give Salah armband agains Bou there is a genuine question whether is still any reason to have him in your squad.

      1. Make FPL Casual Again
        • 7 Years

There is a question re keeping Salah especially with Darwin back in a couple of games, changed role etc. but no other premiums stepping up ...maybe KDB, so it's definitely retain vs Bou...then reasses

But captain wise, have to consider other factors apart from just the fixture...

depends on the style you play. Salah 50+% cap, Haaland 10%.
I choose the safer pick at the start of the season, so Salah.

Boring B Silva, coming off a big haul, .2m cheaper than his starting price. I know the community hates him, cause when he finally couldnt be ignored last season, and everyone decided to bring him in, that's when his points dried up. But as a punt, something to consider.

Similar conundrum. Gonna be stubborn with Rodrigo as I don't like to think people got him for 0.4 cheaper than me if I buy him. Hoping he's this seasons Benrahma, but he'll probably end up like prime 2015/16 Mahrez.

Haha, think that's part off the reason I don't want him either, I honestly thank he's over achieving I could be wrong, the rashford punt cud be ideal, he looked so on it against Liverpool maken them runs that he use to do

Haven't really watched any of the matches that haven't been on tv in the UK (and I missed the Leeds v Chelsea match) so I have no idea how he's looking really. Rashford really should have scored against Brighton too. Then he would be in everyone's reckoning.

He's my preferred pick this week. United's upcoming games will hopefully suit him on the counter. Southampton and Leicester will have a go.

If you look more closely at their profiles, they're nearly all players who'll be sold on at a profit if they go down, or increase in value if they stay up. It's actually good business they're doing.

Would you pick Zaha as part of a 4 man midfield with Salah Martinelli & Gross or Toney as part of a 3 man attack with Haaland & Jesus ?

If I was wildcarding it would be something like that, although maybe with the gundog over Gross

    2. Arteta

      3 years, 6 months ago

Toney makes more sense to me because of easier fixtures and he's 90 minutes man. If I look at their next 6, I can see him outscoring Zaha.

      1. Arteta
        • 10 Years

There are also reliable starting 4.5-5.0 midfielders, whereas forwards aren't.

    3. LAMELA_AND_CONSUELA
      • 8 Years

Toney. You can replace Zaha with others players within his price range or even lower - Aaronson for example. In case of Toney there are only two viable options Mitrović or Welbeck. You can not find other replecament, which mya provide any kind of predictable production.

    4. Kingy109
      • 4 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

I don't understand the argument that Toney is better because there are few options at his price point. What if he gets injured banned or loses form? Surely it's better to be able to switch to someone else with 1FT which would be easier with Zaha?

Currently have Foden and 0FT as brought Martinelli in.

I’m worried Foden isn’t going to start Vs palace.

I also want 3 Liverpool this week; do I do Foden to Diaz for a -4? The way I am looking at it is that if Foden doesn’t play it’s a -2 or -3 at worst but Diaz could go wild…

KDB or Haaland - good shout - hard to tell at the moment.

I'm holding on to my WC at the moment & will look to assess for GW8/GW9 as suggested,
normally going around GW3/GW4 but with World Cup year holding off.

Form/team selections -I need the transfer window closed to start to work out/catch-up on PFL points as unusual season todate.

Another question if both on form would be Kane or Son?

Cash for me, purely based on the form of the opposition

For this week only, which is better?

    A. Kane (nfo) + DaSilva (EVE)
B Toney (EVE) + Diaz (BOU)

Would be bringing in the B players if go for that option.

With Ake injured. Is Stones expected to play? Or other options instead of Ake? Have Gomez (Liverpool) already.

    Final decision on WC.

    A. TAA (Mitro on bench)

    or

    B. Perisic (Greenwood on bench)

Other bench spots Harrison & Andreas.

Your bench is too strong. You'll face this type of decisions every week

Yeah did think this but happy with rest of the team as caught quite a few players before price rises

Why would this choice change who you have on the bench?

Just whether TAA is worth the premium, I’m happy to rotate the bench for good fixtures.

Mount is a big conundrum. Have 1M in bank so can switch to Gundo, Diaz or Kulu.

Any thoughts from owners / non-owners?

I really fancy Kulu for the next few weeks. Was considering swapping Diaz out for him

Yeah he has looked good but not sure if will rotate with Richarlison soon.

I got rid after GW1. Could easily hurt you any week though.

So after a very middle of the road start with a few glaring issues I’ve gone with early wild card. Out of curiosity I looked at a team with Diaz over Salah to free up those funds, I’ve watched every Liverpool game this season and to my mind Diaz looks like a more central threat.

Then I hopped over to the members area to compare them and my god, Salah destroys him in basically every metric I would care about.

In form or out of form, Salah is still the man.

      I did the same LOL

Are you on Haaland or KDB - that's my last conundrum

I actually have both, the next 2 home games are unreal

    2. Eze Really?

I am going Salahless with KDB instead and Diaz atm. It will make FPL life interesting at least.
