Sonaldo and Pras are here to discuss the key points of Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), before looking ahead at the main questions heading into Gameweek 4.

Like many established names in the FPL community, Sonaldo had a poor weekend although Pras was boosted by having both Ivan Perisic (£5.5m) and Aaron Ramsdale (£5.0m).

They look at the tight turnaround caused by the imminent midweek Gameweek 5 and how much rest time each team gets, before analysing the last round of games one by one.

To end, both reveal their ‘bus’ teams for Gameweek 4, discussing plans for transfers and captaincy.

Why is CB Saliba bigger threath than a bit more attacking Zinchenko? By gameplay Zinchenko should have more opportunity to bring points, no? Just the price and standards for Saliba?

So did I. But I generally don't care much about keepers early in the season.
By the time I WC I'll know which keeper to bring.
I just hoped Sterling would have done something.

Everything I do is bad this season, so I can't give advice. I did not see Chelsea folding at Leeds. I almost got Bowen to start the season. I have Robbo, trapped with him but he is not my only trap.

FDJ to Liverpool: masterstroke or desperation? Seems a bit of both. Not sure how they can pull off with his wages being so high if they didn’t wanna pay mane

    1. Andy_Social
      • 13 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

He could the fix Liverpool need, imo. It would mean no Bellingham next year. But given Liverpool have never been linked to FdJ throughout the summer circus, it makes you wonder why Klopp never expressed interest and whether he's done his homework in seeing how he fits into that midfield. I mean, I'm sure he does, but how long will he need?

      1. Puntillimon
        • 10 Years

I agree. He’s a proven and massive upgrade over our midfield right now. Good on the ball, able to protect the defence, drive forwards in midfield and playmake as well. Just not sure if we can meet the wages

Zinchenko ... More nailed due to flexibility of positions he can play.

When the fullbacks are fit White will have to fight for a CB spot, so Saliba is one bad game from losing his place or if injured for a week will struggle to get his spot back.

Mount probably couldn't have a better fixture to bounce back than Leicester. If he hauls, you're gonna get back your lost 0.1 or maybe even 0.2 when people see his next 3 fixtures (sou, WHU, ful). He just has to deliver this time.

Possible sell Mount (7.8m) get in someone like Rodrigo (6.4m) giving another 1.4m to invest in your team - can always look again at Mount as his dropped (0.2m) since start of season

    Sanchez
    Trent, Cancelo, Perisic
    Salah, KDB, Martinelli, Harrison
    Jesus, Toney, Martial
    (Ward; Andreas, Neco, Patterson)

old school 3-4-3 WC. Now posted on the right thread...oops.

6.25% of managers in the top 10k have a combo of TAA, Cancelo, Salah and KDB
Add in Martinelli, 5.16%. Toney, 1.34%. Perisic, down to 0.07%. (7 managers)

So, those seven picks, the core of the XI, is already well off-template when grouped together, as standard as they may be as standalone picks. Add in a 3% owned Harrison (who I'm willing to be patient with) and a 1% punt on Martial (Mitrovic the exit strategy), and I'm thinking it's a wildcard safe enough to not absolutelty tank and different enough to hopefully make a solid dent in the ranks.

Sorry if WC posts are fast and furious this week, but can I get a blessing or a stern talking to?

    1. RAFA THE GAFFA

Solid enough team. Only small worry would be no premium striker price point for if/when Haarland/Kane explode

      1. @FuzzyWarbles

It would hurt to feel it absoultely necessary to get one of them in, but it is a relatively hassle-free 2 FT move to get one in. Considering I'm on a WC, I gotta be patient enough to pocket an extra transfer and if things look bad after the next couple of rounds, I can prepare for that potential move.

This is sound logic - if you can hold a transfer next week. It’s harder to do than you think, lol.

I'm on a WC, on a simar side, barring 3 differences
      James Rodrigo Stanisfield for your
      Patterson Harrison Martial

Probably a better side. Another premium DEF like James is likely better value than a third mid-priced FWD. If I was going 4-4-2, we would probably be on the same side.

2 Free transfers and 0.5m itb, any move seems to be sideways, but I'm considering

    Diaz+Greenwood => Gross+Toney

    Stick or twist?

    Sanchez
    TAA ● Cancelo ● James ● Gabriel
    Martinelli ● Diaz ● Rodrigo ● Salah
    Jesus ● Kane

    Ward/Neco/Andreas/Greenwood

    1. @FuzzyWarbles

its a good looking side without using a transfer, but it stinks to toss one away. Not sure on Gross. I'm more confident in Leeds attack and would double Rodrigo up either with Aaronson, or, knock Toney down to Mitro and turn Diaz into Harrison.

I must admit that Aaronson +Toney or Harrison+Mitro look better combo's. I'm just a little uncomfortable fielding 2 Leeds players after getting my fingers burnt by selecting 3 at the start of last season. Brighton have conceded only once this season, so I might have to wait for attacking returns from any Leeds players.

Rather than waste a transfer I would swap over someone whose price is dropping for some whose price is rising

I don't currently see any negative price movements in my team. Only Ødegaard might rise, but Martinelli (i own 3 Arsenal) to him is sideways at best.

Not so much rising but trending downwards ... TAA, Diaz, Greenwood & Gabriel are all red arrows on FPLStats and being sold.

Greenwood to Stansfield rather than a burn ?

Anyone considering Jesus captain over Salah? Fulham will inevitably attack ARS more than Bournemouth did last week, which could leave more open space for Jesus. Could be similar game to the one in GW2 vs Leicester

Jesus could/should haul well, but Salah seems an even better bet with LIV's matchup. I just cant hold the armband back from the FPL goat, who has smashed BOU every time he's played them.

Yep Jesus for me. Salah's record while playing alongside Coutinho/Shaqiri against a totally different Bournemouth side means next to nothing to me. They'll be in pure damage-limitation mode again and I don't doubt a Liverpool win but don't see it being huge either. Arsenal game should be a little more open and frankly, Jesus just looks like scoring more than Salah atm.

Jesus scored 19 pts last home game. Salah has been terrible and all his returns have been lucky.

If Salah's been terrible and still returned 22 points from 3 games, can you imagine what he'd return if he picks up his form again? Bournemouth at home is surely the perfect game to start playing better

          Salah for me

    Which option guys and gals?

    A) Harrison and Saliba (.6 ITB)

    B) Aaronson and Perisic (.2 ITB)

    C) Harrison and Zinchenko (0 ITB)

no way to cram Harrison and Perisic in? there's a 3.9m GK out there now, a 3.9m DEF...

Thanks - I’m 0.3 short on that, could drop Trip down to Saliba perhaps to make it work, don’t see any other sensible options for my team.

        FWIW my current WC team:

        Sanchez (Ward)
        TAA, Cancelo, Trip (Saliba, Williams)
        Salah, Martinelli, Rodrigo, Harrison (Andreas)
        Harland, Jesus, Toney

Thats actually what I would do. Trippier by no means a bad pick, was in my side from GW1, but I do rate Perisic higher than him enough to ditch Trip, have Perisic as my DEF3 and Saliba DEF4.

Thinking of turning haaland into kdb on WC, city have more home games than away in the immediate run & kdb should get more minutes than haaland? & kdb has a sensational record at home

With the next two games being at home, when I'd expect Haaland to start, I'd see how those go before giving this consideration ahead of GW6. So I concur with your forward thinking and not going too quickly.

KDB can match Haaland for points.

    3. @FuzzyWarbles
      • 15 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

Putting KDB in my WC is probably the biggest shift I am making, and for the purpose of getting off the "one of Haaland or Kane" template. I really am worried about Haaland minutes as we get into the thick of the season. His hauls may make up for some non-starts, but at that price, I want a more known steady presence that KDB is.

Someone was saying KDB will not do as well with Haaland there, Haaland eating into the points, but KDB hit 200 points a few times when Aguero was nailed and firing...and Haaland has much to do to reach Aguero status in my eyes.

Long story short, I support KDB over Haaland. Go for it.
