No Liverpool players in my team. 1 FT, 0.4 in the bank. Had a good with 79 points and Trippier. Still want Liverpool now as they are back in form, hopefully.

    A. Sterling to Diaz.
    B. Cancelo + Sterling --> Trent + Gundogan (-4)
    C. Cancelo + Neco/Ward --> Trent + 3.9m (-4)
    D. Save FT, and do B/C after GW5.

      Full team.
      Sanchez, Ward
      Cancelo, James, Saliba, Trippier, Neco
KDB, Sterling, Martinelli, Groß, Haaland, Jesus, Toney.

Good team to save and carry transfer- Newcastle harder fixture for Liverpool

I would save, NEW isnt an ideal fixture for Pool anyways, while Sterling has SOU and Cancelo has NFO, doesnt make sense fixture wise.

True, but I am not sure whether I want Sterling and Cancelo for another gameweek. Cancelo is playing inverted full back. Sterling was just lucky.

Cancelo may give a clean sheet against Forest. But Sterling playing away at Southampton? I don't know. Confused at the moment. Better to decide later probably.

Really? No idea about the stats, but they looked solid vs United today. Only time Southampton looked poor was against Spurs in the opening gameweek.

Thanks mate. I am overthinking. That's what it is. Roll the transfer and see next week.

No Liverpool is scary. You can't imagine how difficult it was to watch them score 9 goals.

Thoughts on a -8 mini WC here?

Kulu + Xhaka + Robbo + Ward to Diaz + Rodrigo + Cucurella + Raya?

    To give:

    Raya
    TAA James Cucurella Cancelo
    Salah Diaz Martinelli Rodrigo
    Haaland Jesus
    Iversen Andreas Neco Stansfield

Seems reasonable. We'd have very similar teams if you make those moves. I have Gundogan + Walker over your Cancelo + Rodrigo plus Sanchez in goal.

Salah - did he get close to scoring/assisting today?

Just thinking Salah numbers aren't big like end of last year and wondering if this is where he's going to be long term.

Considering Diaz and the money long term (possibly to invest in Darwin) as better option.

Missed an absolute sitter but didn't look good in the rest of the game.
He's trying too hard and he's clearly not the only good footballer in this team. Almost every defender will take him out of the game which results in more space for Diaz, Nunez, Elliot, Firmino...

      1. Futureform
        • 5 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

        This is really helpful.

I feel like this is where he's been for so long.

I have Salah plus fodder playing but long term could move to Diaz plus Darwin, which I think is the way to go as Darwin gets a billion chances a game!

That Bournemouth shipped 8 shows it was exactly the fixture to target.
Yes, Salah's numbers are down but even average Salah is better than most. I have Salah & Diaz, he's the best 8.0.

Darwin seems a huge rotation risk, especially when Bobby just got goals and three assists.

          1. Futureform
            • 5 Years
            3 years, 7 months ago

The negative with Salah is just the price. He has to hit number for 13m.

Darwin v Firminho. I see what you mean. Maybe I'll hold on that part. 5 subs probably means Darwin always plays a part. He seems to attract big chances.

I'd go Rodrigo until first WC.

      A) It's easier to get him since he's cheaper and a midfielder.
      B) Mitro's fixtures are still a bit rough so you can wait to get him

But yes, Mitrovic has to come in at some point soon.

I could sell Kane, though not sure thats a good move either. For a moment forgot that Pep roulette exists. I'll stick with KDB then. Did Mount to Groß already, wanted to give Mount a chance against Leicester but I got slapped in the face by him and Tuchel.

    Bench one:

    A) James (sou)
    B) Perisic (whu)
    C) Rodrigo (EVE)
    D) Neto (bou)
    E) Martinelli (AVL)

I feel like Neto is the obvious choice but my gut is telling me to play him with that tasty fixture. Can't see myself benching one of the others over him though.

But he has an attack of Jota, Bobby, Diaz, Salah and Darwin and is going to be potent playing 4 of these at the same time.

So open your 3rd LFC attacking spot 🙂

2FT and need to get rid of Ward, will keep Iversen at 3.9. Will probably be nr 1 soon. Nothing in the bank so need to downgrade Robertson, Cancelo or Kulusevski.

    1FT Ward to Sanchez

    2FT (get the money)
    A) Robbo to Neco (also money for Archer to Mitro)
    B) Robbo to Perisic
    C) Cancelo to Walker
    D) Kulusevski to Gundogan
    E) Kulusevski to Rodrigo

    Ward Iversen
    Robbo TAA Cancelo James Saliba
    Salah Kulusevski Martinelli Lavia Andreas
    Haaland Jesus Archer

But walker hasn't, he used to bomb forward and was much more likely to get attacking returns than he is now. I think that's Scratch's point. If you want him for cleansheets fine, but he doesn't represent much attacking threat.

    Ramsdale
    Cancelo - TAA - James
    Salah - Rodrigo - Gross - Martinelli
    Mitrovic - Haaland - Jesus

    Ward - Walker - Andreas - Williams

I also want to sell Cancelo. But, as fellow members reminded me, its probably not the best idea before Forest. High chance of clean sheet 6 points. I will not buy Perisic yet, especially now with games coming thick and fast.

Gross, Mitrovic are both good purchases. Mitrovic has some difficult fixtures, but he will certainly walk into my team once their fixtures ease up a little bit. Gross has better fixtures over the next few weeks.

So many new players at Forest. I understand that most of their key players, who helped them in the promotion, left the team after their loans ended. But, I am afraid that it may be difficult for the new players to "gel" together.

Anyone considering the possibility of owning both Haaland & Alvarez next 4, pre Int Break WC? Stupidity or could prove a fruitful strategy to guarantee the starting City forward every fixture? I can get to this for free using my 2FT's this week. I believe whoever starts for City will likely get the vast majority of the game...if not the entire 90'? I don't see 10 min cameos happening, at least 20 mins for either player should they be subbed on if City are somehow not in a comfortable position in the latter stages?...and against the opposition's tired legs I'd take 20 mins of a fresh Haaland or Alvarez tbh?!! Bench is good enough if one does not feature at all anyway? Thoughts?

    Sanchez
    TAA / Cancelo / Saliba
    Salah / Diaz / Martinelli / Rodrigo
    Jesus / Haaland / Alvarez

    Ward, Andreas, Trippier, Neco

    1. Scratch
      • 16 Years

Don't like it. Alvarez is an unknown in a price range you can actually get someone reliable.
Not sure what to do with Haaland, especially when CL begins. Maybe just keep and accept he won't be starting the whole time.

      1. Krafty Werks
        • 11 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

I actually like Alvarez and believe he will deputise well with something to prove whilst he gets his chance? I'm just trying to enable myself to guarantee the starting City forward every fixture over the next four and think this could be an overlooked strategy that hardly any will think to employ...or indeed even be able to get at all? (funds / configuration?). Mmm?

    2. banskt
      • 12 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

Isn't it better to have nailed players like Toney, Mitrovic, Isak, etc than Alvarez? I understand what you are trying to say, but I will probably take 90 mins of Mitrovic over 20 mins of Alvarez. Mitro is on pens, talisman in their team, probably similar number of chances in 90 mins. No rotation headache.

      1. Krafty Werks
        • 11 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

Isak or Toney would mean no Rodrigo, a max 5.4 or 5.6 mid (Gross just out of reach there). Mitrovic I actually don't want to bring in vs Brighton (looking amazing defensively), Chelsea, Spurs...just don't fancy him, may a get a goal or even two but certainly don't see any hauls here? I guess I'm just trying to think outside the box a bit and look at alternative strategies to enable the City starting forward every fixture next four? Could be mad but could just as easily be genius? I'll think on it but not too long as have exact money to do this for free before another extremely likely Rodrigo rise soon!!

        1. banskt
          • 12 Years
          3 years, 7 months ago

Ah yes. Money could be a problem. I am on Toney as my third forward and Gross as my first bench if Haaland doesn't play. Happy to be in that configuration.

But yes, the way you explain, seems to be a good strategy. You will get 90 minutes from two players -- Haaland and Alvarez -- that is for sure. Also with City demolishing teams, you can also expect both to be getting FPL points. But, as I said above, is it really worth to spend 2 squad spots to ensure 90 minutes of football? The answer, I think, has to be from the managerial style. For example, I am playing without Liverpool players -- nobody on this forum will suggest to do so, but I am happy. What I am trying to say is that -- you have to take your own decision at the end of the day!
