Scoutcast – FPL Gameweek 5: Salah, fixture congestion and transfer plans

Seb and Andy are Lepper-less as they co-host the Scoutcast without Joe ahead of Tuesday’s Gameweek 5 deadline.

It’s a swift turnaround between Gameweeks as we prepare ourselves for the first midweek round of Premier League matches of the season.

And fixture congestion is a big focus of tonight’s stream as the pair discuss not just the recovery periods between Gameweek 4-6 matches but also the packed schedule for the teams involved in European club competition all the way up to the World Cup.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) is another hot topic as Seb and Andy discuss the Egyptian’s Gameweek 4 blank.

A questions-and-answers session with the watching Fantasy community, the Gameweek 5 captaincy debate and forthcoming transfer plans are also on the agenda. Live Hall of Fame number 33 Seb, ranked inside the top 40k in 2022/23 already, even has the luxury of burning a transfer…

    Need help, feeling lost right now.

    Sanchez
    TAA Cancelo Walker Perisic Trippier
    Salah Diaz Martinelli
    Jesus Haaland

    Ward Neto Andreas Taylor
    2FT, 0.4 ITB

    I know that Neto needs to go out, but what will be the other transfer or just sub him out for some 5.7 or below MID.
    Other options would be selling Cancelo or Walker for some cheaper DEF and upgrading Neto to some 6.0+ MID.
    Thoughts?

    Looks very likely that Sanchez going up in price tonight to 4.7 - is it worth moving to him from Ramsdale if avoids burning transfer - plan would be to get Salisa or Gabriel in

      Yeah I feel like long term it feels like the right thing to do. I was gonna do it but I feel that Ramsdale has the advantage in this fixture. I'm also playing Andreas so it feels a bit wrong although it's going to be difficult for him to get points anyway.

      every year there is a midtable team that looks rock solid defensively and is a massive source of value.
      this year that looks like brighton - 1 goal conceded in 4 games

      dont worry about the fixtures imo, just bring him in

      it will annoy you horrifically that such a dullard set and forget is outscoring your clever manoeuvring of the fixtures

                Maybe for a minus 4 but not minus 8. Robbo to Diaz is side move, Ramsdale to Sanchez is a keeper move so kinda unnecessary and Bailey vs Patterson they both suck lol. You're basically just doing it for thr price change not sure it's worth it. You might wanna fit in Gross at some point or other players, save your transfers

                  Yeah, fair. I could also do Robertson + Bailey for Perisic and Gross, but that leaves me a benching headache between Walker/Gross/Rodrigo/Martinelli each week, and I don't even think Perisic starts this GW.

        why madness? Salah has been poor since Afcon. His returns this season have been lucky. I honestly didnt want him from start but started the season safely. And Haaland Kane & Jesus excellent captain choices any week.
