The next Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline is fast approaching, with the Gameweek 5 deadline tonight at 6pm BST.

Five-time top 1k finisher and Scout’s Deputy Editor, Tom Freeman, is back again to answer some of your pre-match posers over the next 60 minutes, whether you’re mulling over transfers, deliberating over the captaincy or anything in between.

He’ll be on hand to first reply to requests from Premium Members in the Hot Topic below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up.

If there’s time, Tom will also turn his attention to other requests in the comments section.

You can, as ever, chip in with your own opinions on the RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, you’re free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

    What to do in GW5??

    My team consists of:

    Mendy (Ward)
    Cancelo, Trent, Robertson, James (Williams)
    Salah, Martinelli, Rodrigo, Gross (Andreas)
    Kane, Jesus (Plange)

    I have 2 FT and 0,1M in the bank. I'm considering:
    A) Robertson --> Dunk and save 1 transfer
    B) Mendy --> Sanchez and save 1 transfer
    C) Burn the transfer

    Do you guys have any suggestions?

      Have a very similar team and was considering option B like yourself. I also have 2 FT but am tempted with option C, to just stick and hope Chelsea can keep a clean sheet

    Currently have Trent, James and Neco.

    Really unsure over captaincy this week.

    If I knew Haaland would start then it would be an easy decision..

    Options are

    Haaland (will he start?)
    Salah (Newcastle tough)
    Jesus (safe bet?)
    Rodrigo (too punty?)

      yea difficult one.. think haaland starts but doesnt last the full game.
      Salah is always a safe bet, even against newcastle (they shipped 3 to city, possibily no ASM)

      Haaland may be rested, Salah may be rested before the big fixtures hit or just flogged like a horse ... but Jesus will be nicely rested in the Europa Cup and should therefore start all the PL games ... a good safe port for a captain to anchor it's ship 🙂

      Genuinely would rather play Pope. He can get a lot of saves against Pool and who knows, a clean sheet isn't impossible. I genuinely think a Leicester CS is pretty much impossible.
