There were just two Gameweek 6 press conferences held on Thursday daytime but one of them brought us news on the fitness of the highest-scoring Fantasy Premier League (FPL) midfielder of 2022/23: Rodrigo Moreno (£6.5m).

The managers of Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are the only Premier League bosses to face the media so far, with 16 more top-flight head coaches set to speak on Friday.

Erik ten Hag and Brendan Rodgers will fulfil their Gameweek 6 duties after tonight’s clash between Leicester City and Manchester United, with some quotes likely to be embargoed for a day or two.

LEEDS UNITED

Rodrigo will be out until after the international break with the shoulder injury he sustained in Tuesday’s draw with Everton at Elland Road.

“When it pops out, it’s about as good a case scenario as possible. That means that it doesn’t need surgery and hopefully, in 3-4 weeks, it can calm down. Maybe it takes a little bit longer, maybe it’s a little bit shorter, we will see. He feels good, he feels confident that he will be ready fairly soon, so we’re kind of targeting after the international break.” – Jesse Marsch

Stuart Dallas (leg) remains out, while Luke Ayling (knee), Junior Firpo (knee) and Liam Cooper (calf) are in training and Patrick Bamford could be in line for a start in Rodrigo’s stead.

“First, I think yes that he can [start]. We’ll have to make a decision. We could start with both Joffy [Gelhardt] and Patrick, it’s something we’re speaking about as well.” – Jesse Marsch on Patrick Bamford

“Everyone else is in training except for Stuart Dallas. Junior Firpo, Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford, all back. Some decisions on exactly which guys are ready to go for the weekend but they’re all in training looking healthy.

“I’d say Liam Cooper is probably the closest to being ready to start, and the others [Ayling/Firpo] I think we’ll more be considering, ‘would we have them on the bench or not?'” – Jesse Marsch

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

The Forest team news was an altogether quieter affair, with boss Steve Cooper reporting no fresh concerns from the 6-0 defeat at Manchester City last night.

“No, nothing in terms of injury. Players are reporting a little bit later so I haven’t seen them but I know there are no obvious injuries from last night. A tough week physically, was always going to be the case in terms of three games in a week and only two days between each game. But that’s fine, we’ll always deal with it as it comes.” – Steve Cooper

Orel Mangala (hamstring), Omar Richards (leg) and Moussa Niakhate (muscle) remain out.

Is there a link to the video that shows James participating in training yesterday? Keep seeing it mentioned but not seen a source yet and the chelsea forums have no idea about it either. Cheers

Note: not starting a james is fit rumor. Asking regards the source of the training video thats being mentioned. Cheers

How much do we think Aubamayang will come in at?
Also, does this make Sterling lose his appeal as no doubt he won't be playing as offensive?

    1. Valar(Keith)
      • 16 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

It improves his appeal. Gives sterling someone to assist rather than the ghosts of players past around him currently. Also, gives opposing defenders one more player to mark. Sterling is at his best coming in from the left too

I think it's better for him. Someone fill finally finish the chances he creates. And Auba should make more space for him to run as compared to Havertz.

Looking to buy cucarella. Should Chillwell scare me or is Cuca nailed?!

    1. Valar(Keith)
      • 16 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

I think cuca's appeal gets a bit dented when you can get a nailed on CB at 4.4 and a nailed on attacking rwb in James at 6. He falls in that no man's land region now of not offering total rotation comfort(chilwell) and not offering the spectacular attacking possibilities of james

I’m considering reversing my James > Cuc transfer.
He’s good, but he’s just not *that* good.
Trippier looks like the man to get at that price poiny

If you were given a free Wildcard for this week - would Salah still be in your team?

I think I would go Diaz & TAA and that would be my Pool contingent sorted.
Then (mostly) Haaland & Kane could cover captaincy going forward.

Without being perma captain material - just can’t see how he’s worth the money anymore.

Still not gunna sell him with my FT’s right now however.

    1. Valar(Keith)
      • 16 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

I'd still go Salah. I wouldn't know where to spend the money I'd make selling him . I woildnt want Kane since I'd want Haaland Jesus and mitro/Toney/isak. Would still want a cheap bench.. and would want to take advantage of cheap attackers/gks and defenders too. Owning Salah and not captaining him may be low points per million value wise but I'm still happy with it.

      1. thegaffer82
        • 14 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

I haven’t played around with a draft so I’m not sure where I’d spend the cash either (Sterling in MF as a third cheaper premium maybe), but I would drop the Toney/Isak… spot and just stick Kane in there. He’s a 90min + pens + reliable ‘sub captain’ pick.

    2. Qaiss
      • 10 Years

I would rather have KDB because from GW8, I wouldn’t want Salah anymore. People seem scared to get rid out of FOMO and “it’s Salah” but with those fixtures and Nunez coming into the team, I don’t think he’ll be worth £13m.

This season is so frustrating. 10 million players so my score of 82 is close to a gray arrow. I think FPL have got the pricing badly wrong. You should not be able to build a team with so many players from the top clubs. I'm sure they would change it if they could and next season this won't be possible.

    1. Qaiss
      • 10 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

They got Jesus, TAA and Haaland’s prices wrong. Apart from that, it’s fine.

It’s not their fault that Arsenal, City, Liverpool all started with good fixtures. Seems like you need to chill a bit and remember it’s only 5 weeks in, the template will soon be broken.

Yeah. I think the game as a whole has being going this way for ages now. Perhaps you are just noticing it now.
When I first started playing - just being engaged, having a strategy & keeping up with FPL news almost guaranteed you at top 10k finish.
Now this is the bare minimum just to *survive*

Yes that was my point really. Still love playing but it's become increasingly more difficult. I guess that should be expected with so many players.

Haaland for 11.5 is absolutely criminal pricing. Feel like pretty much everyone's price is 0.5 cheaper than it should be. My first draft was pretty much entirely top 4 players + bench fodder, which shouldn't be possible with only 100m.

Are Perisic owners benching him, selling him or expecting him to start?

I’m starting him. But he’s actually ‘on the chopping block’ in my team for sure.
I’m keen to get more info on what his minutes will look like once teams start playing every 3 or 4 days

Happy enough with his returns so far, he'd always be on the shortlist. Likely to WC in a few weeks so wouldn't be too long till I could get him back. Will probably see if any news comes out before Saturday and toss up between him and March to start for me.

Why did Cech come to Arsenal? Did Chelsea fans hate him for that? Aubameyang carried our worst team in over 2 decades and got forced out the club, no need to hate him

When Campbell moved from Spurs to Arsenal as well. Spurs fans still wished him well

Yeah, if you mean "wished him well" in the same way Barca fans did to Figo.

Dunno why Arsenal and Chelsea fans pretend they have a rivalry when players are more than happy to play for both clubs - Willian, Giroud, Cech even moved directly.

    Bench one and why?

    A) Collins (SOU)
    B) Neco (BOU)

      Bench A.
Bournemouth not scored since the first game and Neco offers at least a bit of attacking threat.

Rodrigo to Zaha or Diaz? Have just enough money for Diaz

Is Fofana at 4.4m a decent player to have on your bench?

I'm shifting Robbo & Greenwood out but moving that money up top to bring in Isak, need a max 5m defender to sit on my bench just-incase.

Chelsea's defence is currently a trash bag, wait for a few weeks until Tuchel makes the defence better.

No need to spend more than 4.1 on bench defs imo, unless you have a strong and cheap rotation plan.

Just got for a 4.0 if on bench. Patterson for example - but great enabler at that price.

Perfectly reasonable option but for that role you could go cheaper.

I’d avoid Isak unless Wilson gets a long term injury.

I’d wait a week or two on Fofana.
I’m sure he’ll get into the side, but he may be a couple of games away from starting.

I would say currently a Brighton defender is a better option.

Only if you're actually benching someone like Perisic when not predicted to start. Generally I do like the strategy of a strong 4.5m defender 1st sub, but Andreas & Neco make such good min price options this year that I don't think another strong sub is really neccesary

What do you reckon to Salah and Rodrigo to KDB and Diaz for a hit?
    Too risky?
