Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope widget on our homepage keeps track of which Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players are racking up the yellow cards and how close they are to a one-match ban.

We’ll be checking in with the latest disciplinary situation on a regular basis as the season goes on, continuing with this article.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

The table above is taken from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

The one we’re concerned about right now is the five-caution mark, an unwanted target that Premier League players will have to avoid for their team’s first 19 league matches of the season.

Following the wave of postponements over the last week or so, that is no longer Gameweek 19.

Team19th fixture falls in…
ArsenalGameweek 21
Aston VillaGameweek 20
BournemouthGameweek 20
BrentfordGameweek 20
BrightonGameweek 21
ChelseaGameweek 21
Crystal PalaceGameweek 21
EvertonGameweek 20
FulhamGameweek 20
LeedsGameweek 21
LeicesterGameweek 20
LiverpoolGameweek 21
Man CityGameweek 21
Man UtdGameweek 21
NewcastleGameweek 20
Nottm ForestGameweek 20
SouthamptonGameweek 20
SpursGameweek 20
West HamGameweek 20
WolvesGameweek 20

The above will change if there are any rearrangements of the postponed fixtures before that but there are few available windows.

A reminder: punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

ON FOUR/THREE YELLOW CARDS

Scott McTominay (£4.9m) and Joao Palhinha (£5.0m) are now one booking away from a ban following cautions in Gameweek 6 but not one of the three players on four yellow cards is owned by any more than 0.3% of FPL managers.

There are two big names just one caution further back, however, in the form of Reece James (£6.0m) and Gabriel Jesus (£8.1m). There’s no need for any immediate concern of yet, of course, but they’ll have to avoid two bookings in their respective sides’ next 13 league fixtures to swerve a one-match ban.

Keep your eyes peeled on our Suspension Tightrope widget over the coming weeks and months, as we’ll be updating that after every Gameweek to keep you informed on the latest disciplinary developments.

I would trust MUN asset if Ronaldo leave. He didn't add anything to the team except begging them to pass to him or show his anger when got ignored.

I watched the game and didn't particularly notice it but on MOTD, Ronaldo was pressing and caused errors which created two chances in the game. He was also beaming when Antony scored his goal.

There looks to be a change in his demeanour.

Got two free transfers and no idea what to do. I am thinking Cucurella to Fofana to bank some funds. Currently 0 ITB. Any help appreciated

    Sanchez (Ward)
    TAA. James. Tripper. Cancelo. (Cucurella)
    Martinelli. Rashford. Salah. (Andreas. Reed)
    Jesus. Toney. Haaland.

So you're celebrating starting a Brighton WB who played 5mins over one of the league's most in-form strikers? Guess that's fair enough, you really got off lightly there

Give it a rest. There's enough hostility on these pages as it is.

Arsenal could easily have had 2.

It's hardly on Nate that they didn't and United managed to win.

I thought it would be 2-2 or 2-3. It wasn't. It's not like we control it at all.

And here you are coaxing him, presumably as a Man U fan?

I'm glad we won but if Arteta hadn't gone giddy with his subs on 70 minutes he could have been an Arsenal win quite easily IMO

I don’t get it, they got 1 point each? And one played 90 mins up front and the other was a defender subbed on in the dying moments for a team which had already shipped two? I’m all for punts and risks but not a fan of calling out someone who advised you to make a much stronger decision

I am very happy with my team now. Double Arsenal defence is good for GW7 and 8. Gabriel and Saliba are the only players I will be looking to shift before they face Spurs, City and LFC.

Probably will switch to double CHE defence after GW8 pending if Tuchel has stabilized Chelsea. Not planning on doing anything to my attack.

I think LFC are going to thrash Chelsea. Does not mean Tuchel will finally swallow his pride that 5 ATB is not working for his team.

Rashford very good value if he keeps up form/starting place

Provisionally yes, but I'm still waiting until the Inty Break for confirmation.

That Leeds fixture in GW8 is mighty tempting

Hi everyone what a gameweek, VAR is a shambles, so I have 1ft and 0.2itb really thank it's time to sell Salah, do I do it this week before wolves, or do I wait for next week then have two transfers, united looking good

    Sanchez,
    Saliba, James, Trent, trippier
    Salah, Aaronson, martinelli,
    Kane, haaland, mitrovic

    Bench, ward, dunk, Andreas, dasilva

    Sanchez (ward)
    TAA Cancelo James (neco patterson)
    KdB Diaz Rashford Martinelli (andreas)
    Haaland Jesus Mitro
    0.1m bank

Team looks pretty good to me. Probably just wait and see how things evolve. Diaz slot might get a bit of use with Mount/Saka/Bowen/Kulu occupying the price point.

Anyone given thought to the Perisic / Sessegnon double up? I happen to be downgrading a defender spot this week anyway (changing formation to get Mitrovic) - was originally thinking Perisic would be the one to go but mainly down to his rotation risk - maybe this solves that issue (bench would be Andreas, Sess/Peri, Neco)? Or would you prefer someone like Andersen?

      safest to get a starter.

There's pretty reliable Spurs leaks for now but would you start them both or be predicting Conte each week for limited minutes?

It's also generally for attacking returns so the minutes matter.

Wouldn't ever start both. Just employing my infallible rotation-detection device? 😉

Feel the UCL line ups could effect the weekend,

Hoping for a Haaland and Diaz rest mid week, if Diaz starts UCL, i think he may be benched against Wolves. Probably all depends on how fit Jota is.

Yes. Díaz is now a rotation risk. Easy switch to Rashford & use the cash elsewhere.

Think i want to wait until the Leeds match for Rashford, he looks a great option for his price though.

Yeah I'm selling Diaz if he gets a start against Napoli.

Having a bit of a shocker this season, transfers not going to plan. Would you roll a transfer or perhaps:

    A. Gundo > Trossard
    B. Gundo > Sinisterra

    Sanchez

    TAA - James - Walker - Trippier

    Salah - Diaz - Gundo - Martinelli

    Haaland - Jesus

    Iversen - Andreas - Neco - Archer

    My rank: 183k transfers 7.
My wifes rank: 36k transfers 0. ghost team. its a pretty good team though (38049)

    So much for active management.

The toughest part in fpl is not making a transfer. Burning one when you have 2 FTs is the worst feeling. That being said i guess that's why they have the max 2 ft limit. Unless we have injuries to take care off jumping off from one player to another just because they scored etc leads to lower points. Most transfers ivr made this season have been disastrous. I totally understand why your wife would do better with a ghost team. Of course as injuries, rotation, fixture changes come in she ll do horribly.. but these first few weeks have all been about patience with the players you own

Got a draft wildcard squad ready to go. Not making a move until Friday, by which time I won't be able to afford it. So I'll end up using it in GW8 anyway!

Wednesday night you'll know if most are okay.

On a wildcard you could change any injuries anyhow.

        Trent, Cancelo, Walker, Chilwell, James
        Diaz, Zaha, Rashford, MacAllister, Andreas
        Haaland, Tonry, Mitro

1.9 itb to move on Darwin when he shows himself
        Still big at the back!
