We at Fantasy Football Scout are saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

We’re aware that not all of you will be affected by the events in the United Kingdom on Thursday afternoon but as a mark of respect for those who are, we will be suspending our content for the time being.

Understandably, there is a great deal of uncertainty over the immediate sporting schedule and we will also be awaiting further guidance from the Premier League on whether (or when) this weekend’s planned fixtures will take place.

Opinions welcome please - would you transfer Trippier in tonight ahead of a potential rise? Or best to just wait and potentially role transfer now?

By the time the football starts again, very likely, Newcastle defence will be vs Mitrovic so it is 50/50

Not sure if postponing just one round of football matches will be sufficient.

Do you really expect the players to be be able to keep themselves together emotionally on the pitch only a week after this news?

It's only right and sensible to postpone football for a month and then, after a month of mourning, assess the mood amongst players and fans.

Might as well cancel the season. They'll never get over this. They were all so close to her. Can't believe she was able to keep such close relationships with hundreds of football players.

Exactly her passing is sad just like any death but I don't feel any emotionally attachment to her than any other person I've never met and doubt the PL player would either.

Big respect to the team at Fantasy Football Scout for postponing all content after this unfortunate news - not an easy decision under the circumstances.

As most if us here have known for a while, the queen was known to enjoy browsing the RMT threads in the final hours preceding a fantasy football deadline.

Hits hard thinking of her logging off for the last time

Why do teams let Ronaldo take these direct free kicks? I mean he's scored a whopper against Portsmouth and for Portugal against Spain but the vast majority of them hit the wall. His stats are terrible.

Ok I’m fed up with these infantile responses. I assume your referring to the idea of respecting the death of a monarch as being an antiquated practice. Let me spell it out for you as your behaving like a child having a hissy fit because you’ve been told you’ve got to stop playing with your toys. It doesn't matter whether you support the monarchy or not, FPL is an English game and the English queen has died. Therefore there is no option but to enter a period of mourning which will result in some games not being played whether you are pissed about it or not. Now grow up.

Yes mate, well said, gonna take a while for us all the get over this one.

It makes sense that football should be postponed, it's what she'd have wanted.

I don't expect i'll be able to focus on much in the coming months after this shell-shock, let alone a triviality like ball kicking. I'd like it to be postponed for more than just this weekend, out of respect to the queen and everyone that loved her and loves football.

Keep your pecker up, lad. Spirit of the blitz n all that.

Sorry now but I'm not trying to offend anyone on here but do we agree ur disagree with games been postponed due to the queen's death? I'm Irish so wouldn't get it personally. (Fine woman by all accounts and a great queen no doubt)

Personally, I think tomorrow and the day of the funeral is fair enough. Doubt they'll do both weeks.

Speaking to my dad, sounds like everything was shut down last time and people were right fed up with it by the end.

I doubt if the Queen herself would have wanted people's activities stopped just because she had passed away.

But if only a minority think that we should pay our respects to an amazing woman and monarch then I'm glad to be in the minority for once.

I'm not sure of the reason for the postponements. I know the cause, but the reasoning evades me. Football continued when the last monarch died, so there must be a new thing going on.

The cynical side of me says it's about creating a spectacle that monetizes the event and increases the value of the monarchy, soft power and tourism etc. It's telling the country and the world that it is significant. Well, maybe it's not even cynical.

Also an opportunity to band the country together, increase nationalist sentiments, and other political benefits. Would be interested to hear people's thoughts

I get your theory but this period of mourning by all accounts is set to cost the country billions at a time when it can’t afford it. I think over the coming days there will be a reaction against it from a sizeable part of society. Personally I would have thought a day of remembrance followed by the day of funeral would be enough. As far as football is concerned two days cancelled seems a decent mark of respect. As far as FPL is concerned, awarding everyone extra free hits to cover those days might make everyone a bit happier.

Extra FTs is an absolute no-no for me. Don't mess with the game after you set the rules and set it in motion! People already with 2FTs would be screwed over.

That isn't really the point, the majority of people won't want to go , so season ticket holders will be forced to go or lose money to please the minority, so if it was put to a vote as a democracy, sporting events will be called off and the nation will mourn

The fact of the matter is one is not an issue, just made to be an issue thru propaganda and manipulation… millions die daily, and many due to the greed of governments, etc.

I’m very stable, just disappointed games won’t be played, if the monarchy is so important we should celebrate it with fan fare and enjoyment of the nation.
