Looking to get Haaland back in for Alvarez. Would you sell Salah or KDB for Foden?

Out of them KDB, Salah could have a field day.

Yes, but with Foden back in (if he starts of course) at least you’ll have c*ver. Plus a ticket in the Liverpool game.

    A quick comments for Mods.

I think it’s best to delete all posts related to criticism of Qatari human rights etc.

It’s not football related, and it will turn this place into a political forum.

Disagree. Its valid and relevant to football. Let people have their say. Politics isn't some discrete thing that you can just separate from the rest of your life. If it degenerates into people insulting other, then you can moderate, but I think the vast majority of us are capable of having a mature discussion

Would you entertain a World Cup in the United States?

Would love to hear your response based on US human rights violations globally.

I'm not saying that you have to boycott it, or that the US is unproblematic, and certainly not claiming to be ethically superior to anyone else. If anything, I'm defending your right to make this kind of reply. Its a complex situation to navigate, and I'm interested to hear everyone's views on it rather than just shutting down debate as you suggested

Can’t think of many places on the planet that can take the moral high ground and host a World Cup.

Unless of course you have very selective morality, and only certain lives matter.

I'll admit, I have an ancestor from 100,000 years ago that hit his friend Ugug over the head with a rock. So I have no right criticising any murderers out there today. They're free to go on murdering with impunity.

My dear friend, you needn’t go that far back in history.

The United States and its allies have dropped at least 326,000 bombs and missiles on countries in the greater Middle East/ North Africa region since 2001.

That’s 42 bombs a day for the past 20 years. Any guesses as to how many innocent men, women and children have been killed?

              Yes, war is awful.

But what does it have to with the organisation of this football tournament?

You seem to have a very tribalistic mentality. This isn't about your national identity, or east v west.

It's just a criticism of the way this football tournament has been organised.

Are you happy with the way it's gone?

And this is hear is the reasoning for my comment to mods. This will descend very quickly into a whole boring lesson on history, imperialism, war etc etc etc.

Stick to football and save the selective moral high ground for a different forum.

Mozumbus, I hope you don't think this is some half-baked prejudice against less privileged countries. You're from Pakistan, right? I love Pakistan, have a bunch of friends there & have visited a few times. But even though there are certain political issues there I find problematic, I don't feel like I'm supporting homophobia, for example, just by visiting friends there. But its a different story with the Wolrd Cup - for me, visiting stadiums that thousands of workers died for, or acting as though this is an acceptable decision to host the WC under these circumstances is simply not the same thing.

"Yes, you can roll a free transfer in GW16 or GW17 and have two free transfers going into GW18. If you make two or more transfers in GW17 then you will lose your saved transfer."

Sorry if l am being a noob, but how do you roll a transfer in GW17 if we all have unlimited transfers?

    Thanks.

Its not you, the rule is kind of bizarre. Basically, you can roll an FT into GW18 but only if you don't take full advantage of the free unlimited transfers for GW17

I'm in the same position (could roll) but no, sounds like 1FT only in GW18 if using more than 2 of the unlimited transfers for GW17 (inevitable for most of us probably)

Morning all, one last time this weekend!

    Any advice here?

    1ft’s and 3.0 ITB
    The team:

    Kepa, Ward
Trippier, Cancelo, Williams, VVD , Guehi
    KdB, almiron, Rashford, martinelli, Trossard
    Mitro, solanke, Haaland

Thinking about doing Solanke to Jesus? Or safe the FT for 2ft's for boxing day?

He's always late isn't he? I'll give him an extra five minutes this time and if he doesn't show then I'm going to the owl sanctuary by myself.

I was put off with Pep’s post match interview and can see Haaland easily being benched and only coming on if needed - think I will be waiting again on early team news before committing to taking a -4 to get him back

    Pope
    Trippier Cancelo Saliba
    Foden Saka Zaha Martinelli
    Haaland (C) Wilson Kane

    Ward Andreas Guehi Neco

Got 1FT - what to do for 1 week before the WC?

Unfortunately 0.1 away from Wilson to Darwin.

That's unlucky, team looks great apart from no Pool cover. Could maybe have a 1 week punt on Firminho starting and doing ok.

I think the FPL website should have drawn more attention earlier in the season to the change of rules regarding transfers over the World Cup.

Lots of people who don’t hang around on these forums all day long didn’t know that the wildcard had to be used ahead of the World Cup (I thought it would still be available until gw19 - the halfway point of the season - until that latest news article on the website. (used mine ages ago anyway)).

I’m sure there are plenty who didn’t even know that we have unlimited transfers during the World Cup.

I am running a FPL money league and just want it to be fairly competed. I am sure plenty would have changed their tactics had they known that the wildcard essentially needs to be used this week. I have messaged my league to inform them but it’s a bit late.

It’s a completely different scenario to previous seasons, there should have been a big notification about it on your team selection page early in the season.

You need to contact them complaining the integrity of your money league has been compromised by their tardiness!

Advantage engaged managers. If you are in a money and don't know this you are merely donating.

I believe the rules/dates for the first Wild Card and the unlimited transfers for the World Cup were announced at the beginning of the season and could be looked up in the Help>Rules section of the website. What wasn't announced until this week were how price changes would be affected during the World Cup and how FTs would or would not rollover - something I asked about at the beginning of the season and received no answer.

Another thing learned this week is the fact that although we have unlimited transfers - they still count towards the transfers you make in total over the season - unlike pre-season or if using a WC.

Why would you go to the help>rules section unless prompted? I haven't checked that section for years unless someone has identified a specific rule change

I think it was there, but many people don't want to be helped, so just clicked the x.

If not, then check the rules. Every season I check the rules to see if something has changed. Honestly, if people don't check, how will they ever know? You can't be certain you're going to find the information through osmosis, so if you miss it, you'll always be crying for them to have done more.
