There’s one more Gameweek 17 match to go before Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers get their sole rest day ahead of back-to-back Gameweeks.

Leeds United v Manchester City is the fixture in question, with kick-off at Elland Road set for 20:00 GMT.

It’s almost entirely about the visitors from an FPL perspective, with only one member of Leeds’ starting XI, bench fodder’s Sam Greenwood, owned by more than 2% of Fantasy managers.

Five City assets boast double-digit ownerships, by contrast, but two of them, Joao Cancelo and Phil Foden, aren’t part of Pep Guardiola’s line-up tonight.

In fact, only two of the eight City players who reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Portugal or England make the team this evening.

It’s John Stones and Jack Grealish who get the nod, with Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva, Foden, Cancelo and the newly portly Kalvin Phillips on the bench.

Ruben Dias is injured.

Above: FPL assets sorted by ‘effective ownership’ in the top 10k (via LiveFPL)

Guardiola has largely gone with the same team that defeated Liverpool in the EFL Cup last Thursday, making three changes: Stefan Ortega, Aymeric Laporte and Cole Palmer are replaced by Ederson, Stones and Grealish.

Jesse Marsch has got a number of his injured and ill players back this evening, including Illan Meslier and Rodrigo.

Patrick Bamford misses out and Crysencio Summerville, who like Rodrigo has scored three goals in as many league matches, is only on the bench.

GAMEWEEK 17 LINE-UPS

Leeds United XI: Meslier, Kristensen, Struijk, Koch, Cooper, Forshaw, Roca, Greenwood, Gnonto, Rodrigo, Aaronson.

Subs: Robles, Ayling, Firpo, Llorente, Gyabi, Klich, Summerville, Harrison, Gelhardt.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Lewis, Akanji, Stones, Ake, Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Grealish, Haaland, Mahrez.

Subs: Ortega, Walker, Phillips, Cancelo, Laporte, Bernardo, Gomez, Foden, Palmer.

Is Rashford back to his best ? Ten Hag thinks he can score 20 this season.

Sure if he thinks it it must be certain! What's your actual question, it's a statement really.

Seeing as he scored 14 this week, 20 should be achievable for the season, even for him.

Really pleased that every one of my front seven scored a goal this GW - can't remember that happening before.

H-Block the only one to score a brace, but ironically with the assists, Rashford and Salah would have been better caption options. Hey-ho.

He didn’t use his u limited transfers hence still has Jesus.

I wouldn’t do those moves. Just use 2 FT & even then would give Foden one more go seeing as he didn’t start today and city have a quick turnaround

Ream has a double coming up which makes the reasoning sound(er), I am considering bringing him in for Walker who is a player I have owned twice this season and both times ended in misery.

      1. GreennRed
        • 14 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

He's decent with a slim chance of attacking threat. Low chance of a CS but maybe v Leicester in DGW18 without Maddison. I had Digne and Cash in mind for James for some mad reason but got Robertson.

      2. DARE TO BISCAN
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

He really doesn't sound too bad a short term pick. I'd play in the double. Not sure if I'd play over Gabriel in GW18 though.

May just go for Botman. Newcastle look solid, with good fixtures (except GW19 though).

Nobody's really jumping out at me. Have 6.2 budget, don't really want to spend all of it. Have Trippier, Gabriel, Shaw. So, no massive panic.

As a City fan, it’s great to see Rico Lewis continue to kick on and give another epic performance.

He’s 18… and the last few performances have been so mature and professional.

As a FPL player and Cancelo owner, this does slightly concern me. Especially as Ake is performing so well at LB too.

For what it’s worth, Cancelo comes back on next game for me. But Rico definitely one to watch, especially now Walker is ageing.

Gomez started well but hasn’t got much of a look in recently which has surprised me. But this just goes to show how good the other cover options have been.

Everton starting line up will be interesting.

But the future is even brighter at City.

Ornstein said that Arsenal are keen to sign Mudryk and Felix on loan. Any of them would be a great addition to the team, but I hope they have a plan for CM/CDM backup as well. This may be the most important transfer window in a decade and they simply can't get it wrong.

    1. GreennRed

Atletico suited him when he felt like playing. Whinged a lot when he was dropped because his form was poor.
He scored once in a 3-2 win over Ghana and had 2 assists in a 6-1 win over Switzerland. If he was great then how would you rare Ronaldo or Bruno in Qatar?

Wilson first and leave James for a week to see if more doubles confirmed and play White who I think you have.

It depends on who you have on bench, for me it's andreas coming for wilson and white for james... So i'm leaning towards getting rid of james who is more likely to be out for 4 weeks while wilson may get back next few days.

    A. Almiron
    B. Mount
    C. Saka
    D. Odegaard

Mount imo, I'm trying to figure out a way to get him in for the doubles.

Might do a -4 next gameweek and do Andreas to Mount and James to Shaw.

Agree Mount for double and possibly then move to Trossard if Brighton double confirmed for 21

    Hi lads,

Anyone good at math or predicting, do you think Odegaard rises tonight?

He needs 4850 more transfers according to fpl statistics and was already transferred by 80k+ since the start of the GW

    Thanks
