Is that 2 missed pens in a row for Mitrovic? Could it be Andreas to take the next?

Bit of a lottery with him. Card magnet, misses pens and scores goal.

I benched him for brace v Liverpool and played him for his pen miss so feel I’ve levelled things out

He will score (or not) next one. I started him over Almiron. Thought it was clever move when ball was in the net. Provably most unfortunate failed pen I've ever seen.

It really is worth pointing out that Trippier has blanked in only 3 of 20 rounds of games.

If it wasn’t for Haaland he would surely have been discussed as captain by now like alonso/ Trent used to be.

    Insane stats.

What’s he doing more than other defenders? Chances created? All set pieces?

      133 points in 19 appearances
At that rate in 38 games he'd be on 266 points
That is ridiculous for a 5.0m starting defender
In 21/22 top scoring player was Salah 265
      20/21 Bruno 244
      19/20 KDB 251
      18/19 Salah 259
      17/18 Salah 303

    Good: Selling Mitro for Toney
Bad (so far): Buying Ake instead of Schar

Didn’t look too far ahead with Toney but, conversely, got scared off Schar’s potential future blank/ enticed by future Ake fixtures

That’s the way it goes. Got to go with your instincts, even if they seem to change at times!

Crept into the top 4K as things stand. Never finished inside the top 10k (but got close and not finished outside 100k since being on here). Inching up the table slowly!

Yes wish I had sold Mitro to Toney another-4 as would be 5 points better off. Ake probably best City defender yesterday so good choice going forward

I have multiple +10k finishes. I use this stat to establish mine credibility when offering advice. But I also had an embarrassing 3962 finish one year so I do understand your shame. Keep at it and a coveted +10k finish is in reach!

Congrats. Well done, but season is still long. I have missed both top 10k and top 10k with 1 pt. Now around 2.5 million and fighting to get inside top 100k. This hasn't been my season, but besides bad Iuck I also blame my own mistakes because of a phenomenon called "having a life".

Ha, I know that feeling. I was in the millions until around GW7/8. Whether I’m having a good run or bad (which is more frequent), I like to clear my head of FPL for most of the week. I loved doing no fantasy football during the World Cup - was beneficial for my mental health! Good ranks obviously not that important in the grand scheme of things but thought I’d just enjoy it while I can

I had exactly same plan, but then I broke my knee (patella fracture) and my brothers asked me to play FIFA fantasy vs them. So being basically "forced" to watch every match anyway on sick leave, I naturally participated in that game. Wasn't bad idea for mental health.

We don't know gw25 fixtures yet imo. Sometimes planning too much ahead has hurt my team. Would have been better having players hauling than having poor assets who get 2 pts on bgw.

Started the "right" one on paper each time and the other has outscored them on the bench.

    Start Ederson (2) v Kepa (3)

Lot of football to be played this GW still. I'd wait if you can afford to.

I would be tempted with B at Leicester but Arsenal have double coming up so not sure which way you want to go.

I'd keep mitrovic a further week because spurs defence is up next

Good points on the double and Spurs defence, maybe saving is the better option

Probably already been asked but is there any news on if Toney will get banned. Seems hard to ignore atm.

Read on here that it's happening in March if at all.

I would not let that deter you- at worst-4 to sort if/when happens and you should have good amount of points. It wi take longer than we think for decisions on any ban

1 more game for Arsenal so Saliba would get ban if received yellow in next game v United

I'm cautiously optimistic about Arsenal's chances of making CL next year................but I'm also slightly annoyed that Doherty didn't get an attacking return.

Also I'm expecting a Haaland(TC) hattie against that tragic Spurs D

I don't see why you would think Doherty would get an attacking return against the 2nd best defence in the league this season

In retrospect, you’re absolutely right, of course…….but Zinchenko’s wing was looking like the easiest point of entry for Spurs…..

Reaallly want to bring Mitoma in, but would have to be for a -4 once I bring Toney in.. would you lose Almiron for a -4 or wait a week and re-evaluate?

    Kepa
    Trippier - Akanji - Botman
    KDB - Almiron - Martinelli - Rash
    Toney - Kane - Haaland

    Ward - Dalot - Andreas - White

Absoultely no way would I take a hit to bring in Mitoma for Almiron.

-Almiron hit form, i didn’t buy him, waited for a few weeks to confirm he was legit and missed all the double digit hauls. Now I got him he’s barely ticking along.
-trossard hit form, i didn’t buy him, waited for fixtures to improve. Then he went off the boil right as I got him
-foden hit form, i waited to see if legit, missed all the haul, then bought him right as he left the team.
-odegaard has hit form, i haven’t bought him, waiting for fixtures to clear, ive missed like 45 pts in 4 weeks
-silly March hit form, i haven’t bought him, 3 double digit hauls in four weeks.

Meanwhile salah and kdb have barely been in form all season yet ive hold on to them religiously

At the end of the season I’ll wonder why I did so poorly and blame variance

I think historically fpl has favored the measured manager who doesn’t kneejerk. This season it feels like knee jerks are being rewarded regularly

I think there has been some decent analysis as to why this season has been a series of sprints…….may be more than correlation but I’m actually not sure

hopefully the second fixtures are slightly kinder, I hate the TC chip as I never feel like I want to use it, then I usually have to use it later in the season where rotation and unpredictability come in more, unless its Pep

sorry I meant rotation and unpredictability is usually more of a factor at the end of a season, unless its Pep as he is unpredictable all season!

    Cucu replacement?
    Just Botman or Burn?
Have Trippier Shaw and White so actually need someone for rotation or just with good GW21 fixture.

Why for a player with only a good GW21 fixture? Look long term with defender picks
