With Double Gameweek 22 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) almost upon us, five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman is here to help with your pre-deadline dilemmas for the next hour.

Whether it’s questions on triple captaining Marcus Rashford (£7.2m), Leeds United players, how to navigate Blank Gameweek 25 or anything in between, Scout’s Deputy Editor will tackle whatever’s thrown at him.

Tom will be on hand to first reply to requests from Premium Members in the Hot Topic below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up.

If there’s time, Tom will also turn his attention to other requests in the comments section.

You can, as ever, chip in with your own opinions on the RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, you’re free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

Don’t forget that, if it’s an algorithmic answer you’re after rather than an opinion-based one, we also have a â€˜Rate My Team’ tool available in the Premium Members Area.

No way. You will want him back next gw. I'm not sure I'd do it for free. What are you expecting from Bruno realistically? Couple of assists max?

Hello Tom! I was one of the "lucky" ones to have Bruno, Mahrez, Nketiah, Toney from the restart (together with Haaland, Kdb and Rashford). So there is not much I can do this gw in terms of my attack despite my 2ft. In defence though Im on Trippier, Botman and Shaw plus Doherty/Patterson who are out (Ward my keeper). As most people are targeting now players that I already have I am thinking to use 1ft to an Arsenal defender instead in order to set up my team for next double (where I can bring ode or saka). As most people have Ben White I am thinking to bring in Zinchenco in order to regain a bit of my differential edge. What is your thoughts on that? Alternatively I can bring Kepa for Iversen but I am not very hot on keeper transfers. Thank you and sorry for the long post!

Is Triple Captain Bruno too much of a differential risk? I have Rashford too, but took a hit to get in Bruno this week.

The hit you took has no impact on Bruno's or Rashford's points this week

Check Rashford's returns at home this season. He has two great home fixtures in the DGW

yeah just feeling like the hit makes me going all out on him as a differential TC makes more sense lol.

TC Rashford feels insanely template, getting bored!

Ignoring the hit, who do you think will score more points out of Rashford and Bruno? That is the only question that should determine who you TC.

Remember TC Salah last season? Template for a reason. Sky-high score. If you had put it on anybody else and they scored fewer points, you had fewer points at the end of the season

Unless you're playing in Cups or H2H or mini-leagues with special rules, weekly rank movement doesn't matter. Only your points at the end of the season

EO can be fun to monitor and stay engaged in the game, but it doesn't have any impact on your overall rank at the end of the season. That will only be dependent on how many points your starting players scored throughout the season, minus hits

If you get to the top 1k by having popular assets or by going with differentials, it doesn't matter. Only the actual points count

    lose second FT and:

The unavailable guy will still have to go next GW, and the next GW's target will still likely be an Arsenal defender

So I'll take B to lose the unavailable player while also taking the chance to bench Mitro in a tough game and play an Arsenal defender against a back-to-basics backs-to-the-wall Everton side under Dyche. Lots of upside with one transfer, higher than just rolling the FT for the sake of it, as there's not much new data we're waiting for in GW23: fixtures are already confirmed

      1. Bishopool
        • 14 Years
        3 years, 1 month ago

thats true, there is no good having unavailable player. maybe the main concern is the present situation and this gw only - to choose between Gabriel, Nketiah and Mitoma (or conservatively stay with Mitro). Rolling FT gives me time to see what Arsenal and ManC players are rested, also minutes, injuries, sickness etc. But yeah, good discussion, thank u for your answer.

Also im not so sure wether to prefer Odegaard or Nketiah or Arsenal def (having alreadu Martinelli). At the moment I think Ode is most reliable.

          Here's how I approach it:

Ignore prices when picking your starting XI. Prices don't determine points, as they've been set by people who don't see the future

Son is 11.6. Vardy is 9.1. Ward at 4.0 had a run of games where he outscored every other keeper, yet people kept benching him

If you have a healthy 15-man squad, ignore prices and pick the players you'd have on a Free Hit. A full squad is a weekly Free Hit

Yes, you'll sometimes bench Kane's surprise 12-point haul vs City, Arsenal, Newcastle or Man U, but how many times has that happened against a strong defence this season? That's what makes it a surprise

Mitoma's form has included tough and easy defences, with one blank in 7 starts, facing one of the worst defences in the league. A haul here will not be a surprise. Assume all your assets are the same price and pick based on expected points

          1. Ze_Austin
            • 7 Years
            3 years, 1 month ago

This is different from, say, playing Bueno or Andreas over Kane because they have easier fixtures or you have a feeling

It's possible double returns vs possible single returns, with everybody having good stats. Nobody in your attack is a bench player, so you can rotate based on fixtures

Hey guys! Had a couple of strong gameweeks last time out courtesy of Mahrez and Haaland... what would you recommend doing for this one?

Ideally would want 3 playing United but have Dalot who is very much doubtful.

    Kepa

    Rashford Foden De Bruyne Kulu
    Haaland Wilson Mitro

Have 2 fts. Definitely doing Foden to Fernandes. Not sure what to do with the other transfers. Please choose one of the following:

    A) Wilson to Nketiah, GW23 Kulu to Saka and Dunk to Ake/Lewis (-4)
    B) Wilson to Gnonto and Foden to Odegaard (-4), GW23 Kulu to Saka and Shaw to Lewis (-4), GW 24 Dunk to James

Feels like there is more room to chase upside with plan B, which I currently have to do at a 900k rank. With plan A, there is no room to move to James in GW24 and I want him (if fit) to navigate the blanks. Please help 🙂
