The quarter-finals of our FFS Open Cup and FFS Members Cup competitions will take place in Gameweek 23.

A reminder that these are the old-school cups that we run via our own site, rather than the ones you may see in the ‘Cups’ tab on your FPL team page.

A total of £300-worth of prizes are on offer as usual in each tournament, with a full breakdown towards the bottom of this article.

FFS OPEN CUP

The full results from the sixth round can be viewed here

The full draw for the quarter-finals can be viewed here

All former winners are already out but Plasticnancy comfortably beat flavio 83-59. In a week where she dropped to 20th globally after not using the Triple Captain chip, she is the lowest-scoring victor and the score of 83 was actually bettered by four of the eight eliminated teams.

Optimus, in particular, will feel very unlucky to lose. A very decent 98 still wasn’t good enough versus the 116 of WEAK BECOME HEROS, who now faces Plasticnancy in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, The Cloud Watcher bagged 117 points, alongside fellow centurions being DLI and 5,069-ranked Colombo Geezers.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The full results from the fifth round can be viewed here

The full draw for the quarter-finals can be viewed here

Like above, no past champions are still involved and Plasticnancy wasn’t able to pull off a second victory. She lost 106-83 to Lionac, one of three managers to record a triple-digit score and the highest-ranked remaining team after Shiregeriatrics was also eliminated.

The lowest-ranked quarter-finalist, Alcmckay, is 486,561st in the world but won a close 95-93 encounter with Yanti2.

HOW DO THE CUP COMPETITIONS WORK?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own cup games.

Entrants who qualify for the second round were randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a draw, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK SCHEDULE?

Both these cup competitions will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Jesus' first day back at Arsenal's London Colney training centre was on Tuesday, with the 25-year-old now following a carefully mapped out fitness plan alongside the club's medical team with the aim of returning to action at some point next month. He is now able to do some light ball work on the training pitch, although the key focus of his recovery at the moment is on continuing to strengthen his knee.

There is a lot of scaremongering around. Don't let others convince you that Nketiah isn't worth buying and is just a short-term pick. He could start 6-8 games before you should be really worried about fully fit Jesus.

To be honest, as one who has possibly been encouraging said scaremongering, I think you need the right Arsenal assets and their CF is one of them. Yes it may mean a transfer or hit between the two sets of blanks, but it won't happen all at once so there will be time to plan once Jesus is on the bench. Disappotined they haven't outline April 9th as his return though....

GW27 seems likely, right after the international break. That's over a month from now, but only 4 GWs away...

Nketiah still might be worth bringing in for the doubles, but I wouldn't be doing major surgery to fit him in when there are still great alternative assets in Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli etc...

Going to have a benching headache this GW, current team is below (already decided to play FH GW25)
    Kepa,

    Akanji, Trippier, Botman

KDB, Martinelli, Mitoma, Bruno F, Rashford

    Kane, Haaland

Bench - Shaw, Greenwood, Bueno, GK -Ward

2 free transfers - Bruno & Beuno to Saka and Gabriel are my transfer thoughts, but after that who to bench??

Begrudgingly I am benching Mitoma from a similar midfield 5. But I would bench Akanji because I don't rate the city defence

3 Clean Sheets in last 10 games and up against Arsenal in the double - he might start both but don't expect significant returns. Botman and Trippier should be good for CS + Bonus

Frankly not sure, but the chance should be higher than other City mids as they couldn’t create much chances without him.

It seems fair to rate Saka higher on direct comparison between the two with Saka on pen and being captain option on GW25.

On the way out, selling Toney seems a better move as he will be blank and on 8 YCs. Bruno could do well on GW23-24 too.

      Another night to think.

Why are people selling Martinelli for a hit? Is it really worth it?

    Team for this week:
    Kepa
    Tripps Gabriel Shaw
    KDB Rashford Martinelli Almiron
    Nketiah Kane Haaland (c)
    Bench: Schar Andreas Ward

    Good to go?

If he gets hauled off on 58 minutes for his next 4 games you've already made the hit back on Saka or Odegaard who should be playing much longer. Arsenal play 5 games in the next 3 weeks, no blanks and are top of the league so it is the right time to get the right Arsenal assets

This! Arsenal also play in BGW28 so the sooner you can get the best assets the better. Saka should easily gain you the 4 point hit back just by playing more minutes than Martinelli.

At the end of the last article, but, coming round to this. Mitro & Martinelli -> Nketiah & Saka (-4). Gives me:

    Kepa
    Gabriel, Trippier, Botman
    Mahrez, Saka, Bruno, Rashford
    Nketiah, Haaland (c), Kane

    Ward, Mitoma, Shaw, Bueno

Look good? Leaves me with 2FT to lose 2 of Botman, Bruno and Shaw before GW25

Maybe. I heard Buneo was only benched because Ait Nouri is a "Salah expert" although with Liverpool being one of Wolves' opponents in 25 that probably adds to the case to ship him.

I don't want Bruno past 25. I want to get rid of Botman and bring in Schar after 26 so maybe keeping Shaw.

There's just no good way of getting Saka in for Martinelli here, right?
Only 2 cases I can think of:

    A) KDB+Martinelli > Mahrez+Saka (-4) - huge gamble
    B) Mitrovic+Martinelli > Saka+Johnson (-4) - don't think it's worth it with Mitro's decent fixtures

Better to wait a week and reevaluate surely?

Would love some thoughts on this!

    Current team:
    Ramsdale - Ward
    Trippier - Botman - Mings - Shaw - Patterson
    Martinelli - Bruno - Rashford - Foden - Mitoma
    Kane - Haaland - Toney

Not looking good for the doubles this GW and reaaaallly not looking good for GW25!

    WC team would be:

    Kepa - Forster
    Trippier - Gabriel - Tarkowski - Dunk - Lewis
    Saka - Rashford - KdB - Mitoma - Bailey
    Nketiah - Kane - Haaland
    0.5m ITB

Sets me up nicely for City and Arsenal games this GW, decent fixtures GW24 and targetting doubles in GW25.
From then on, I'd look towards setting my team up for BB in GW29, and with keeping 2 Brighton players I'm set up for their coming doubles as well.

    What do you lot think?

I am not 100% your WC is deriving enough benefit. You go from 7 blankers to 4 which you can easily manage through FT, although appreciate you do shift out the minutes risks around Foden and Patterson.

Can see there is some benefit in the Rams & Martinelli -> Gabriel and Saka aspects as well. Does it warrant a WC when a hit or two might suffice? Not sure.

Wasn't there suggestion that Bueno was dropped because of Ait Nouri being some sort of "Salah Specialist"? Which means Bueno might be back this weekend, but if he does retain his place, he probably won't double when Wolves play Liverpool in 25.

    A) Almiron to Odegaard
    B) Toney to Nketiah

Thoughts? Leaning towards A at the moment.

    Benching head ache.

    Start:
    a) DdG
    b) Kepa

    1) Mitoma
    2) Almiron

Currently leaning on this set up:-
    DdG
    White - Ake - Trippier
    KdB - Odegaard - Rashford - Almiron
    Kane - Haaland - Nketiah

    Kepa - Mitoma - Shaw - Bueno

I got one FT and currently own triple arsenal and Haaland. But can't convince myself to bring in a city defender or Mahrez.

    Reasons:

Def: Other than Akanji not sure if Ake or Lewis will start both games in 23, and by GW25 I won't be playing a city Def any way. (Either benched or Sold).

Mahrez : Same as def, his minutes in gw23 and one game being Arsenal. And I may replace him with Salah by GW25. By then Mahrez will face arsenal and forest who are doing well at the back and may not even start one of the three. Hence would like to have Bruno for next two game weeks instead and move to Salah in GW25.

    Any suggestions?

    G2G? (1ft, 1.6itb)

    Kepa
    Cucurella White Tripps
    Bruno Rashford Saka Odegaard
    Haaland (c) Kane Havertz

I'll give you another reason to avoid City Defence. Check their clean sheet records. Akanji and Ake only 4 each for the season. Neither offer particular attacking threat either.

      Shaw to Lewis this week.
      GW 24 Roll
GW 25. Bruno to Salah or Havertz to Darwin + a luxury move.

Better play Almiron (Bou) or take a -4 to put an Arsenal defender in?
    Already got Nketiah and Odegaard.
    Thanx.

Taken a punt on Tete. Tough fixtures to start, but can see him making a big impact going forward.

    Hello everyone

Just catching up on news of all these doubles and blanks after a hectic few days of ‘real life’.

Thinking of this week ahead first, I’ve got 2FTs to play with and one move will be Toney to Nketiah. What about the second?

    A) Bruno to KDB
    B) Almiron to Mahrez
    C) One of the moves above and Martinelli to Saka for -4

Just clawed my way back into the top 3k and wondering if now is the time to be bold. Tempted by C with Bruno to KDB.

Anyone else more confident KDB starts both after the Spurs appearance from the bench? KDB v Mahrez a popular topic on here I see.

    2FT 4.7ITB
    Kepa
    Trippier White Ake
    Bruno Rashford Martinelli Almiron
    Haaland Kane Toney

    Ward Andreas Shaw Bueno

    Thanks!

Yeah Bruno >> KDB seems to make sense. Also Martinelli >> Saka with the double double coming up may be worth just doing now

Hi all. Would you roll the FT here? 1FT, 0.3itb.

Would like to get to Kane or Odegaard but can’t get to them? Also how was Bruno F last night? Cheers 🙂
