After a week in which Brighton and Hove Albion’s two-goal number seven dominated the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) discussion, we’re hearing from our very own S. March.

The 2014/15 FPL champion and regular Scout contributor, Simon March, joins regular host Andy North for the exclusive weekly video for Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout.

Fortunately for viewers, the content will be better than the lousy intro to this article.

The pair will be chatting on our YouTube channel about their own teams and how they’re approaching Blank Gameweek 28 of FPL and beyond.

They will be live from 20:00 GMT, with the stream watchable via the embedded video below.

And if you’ve missed the start or indeed the whole of the live broadcast, you can of course still watch the stream back from the start in its entirety.

Only Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout will be able to watch the video below, so make sure you sign up today to get access to not just this stream but also exclusive YouTube content from the likes of Simon, Mark Sutherns and more throughout the 2022/23 campaign.

Will Haaland drop in value again tonight?

Lean more towards no than yes, but it's possible.

I'd guess no. (-)95.7% on FPL Statistics, and there are wildcards involved there so I do not think so.

I've seen many players recently >100% and still no price drop.

Looks decent to me. I’d prob favour DDG -> Steele, Castagne -> Ars defender given you’ve got Shaw but might not be much in it

Only going DDG over Steele because of the uncertainty as to how long Steele will be number 1. My luck would have it that I’d go Steele and then he’d be dropped next week.

Solid team. Similar to mine. Brighton have so many dgws coming up that I am conisdering getting more of them into the team but it would be at the cost of Botman/Shaw/Maddy to get a mid or estupinan

      1. boroie
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 21 days ago

Who have you went with for your second keeper?

Yeah Brighton have plenty of DGWs to come but also a horrible run of fixtures after the next DGW. Think I’ll keep 1 in (one of Mitoma/Mac/March) and then just use a transfer to get in a second.

The keeper situation is frustrating as having a Brighton keeper as second keeper would be perfect but I can’t see the spot being Steele’s for the rest of the season. He’s already made 2/3 mistakes.

I have pope and kepa - pretty happy with him going into dgw 29 and potential bb.

Ramsdale is a good shout if you dont need the third arsenal elsewhere

Looking at the Haaland for Watkins debate I’ve crunched some numbers if of any interest.

From their actual Gameweek scores from this season, I randomly picked one of Haalands and compared it to 3 random Watkins scores. Basically trying to model the outcomes over the next two Gameweeks.

I ran this 10,000 times and these were the results:

74% of the time Watkins outscores Haaland
22% of the time Haaland outscores Watkins
    4% Same score

When out-scoring Haaland; Watkins averages a 9 point gain (Max 29 points)

On the flip-side Haaland averages a 6 point gain (Max 20 points)

So if we say 74% of the time we get a 9 point gain from the transfer, and 22% of the time we lose 6 points gives, this gives us an expected value of a 5 point gain.

Worth the two transfers (assuming Haaland coming back in our teams for GWK 30) and potential loss in team value? (I’m actually getting rid of him for Kane as don’t already own him!)

Not an exact science as obviously with using previous gameweek scores I’m not accounting for fixture difficulty etc. but hope it gives some food for thought on your decisions!

      Very interesting, thank you.

Haaland points per start (above figures included off the bench) 7.9
          Watkins 4.5

So Watkins 13.5 vs Haaland 7.9 then 5.6 gain

Best plan here? 2FT and 4.6m ITB. Leaning towards C.

    A) GW28 March to Maddison
    GW29 Pinnock & Martinelli/Saka to Chilwell & March/Mac (Free)

    B) GW28 March & Haaland to Maddison & Watkins
    GW29 Pinnock & Martinelli/Saka to Chilwell & March/Mac (-4) or just one for free
    Haaland back in GW30

    C) GW28 March, Haaland & Pinnock to Maddison, Watkins & Chilwell (-4)
    GW29 Martinelli/Saka to March/Mac
    Haaland back in GW30

    Kepa
    Trippier, Pinnock, Gabriel, Schar
    Saka, Martinelli
    Kane, Toney

Raya, Estupinan, Mitoma, March, Rashford, Haaland
