Our usual pre-match press conference round-ups are still to come ahead of Friday’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline but the day’s big team news concerned a side not playing in Gameweek 32.

Manchester United blank in the upcoming Gameweek due to their involvement in the FA Cup semi-finals but they resume Premier League action in Gameweek 33 next Thursday.

And they look set to have Marcus Rashford (£7.1m) and Luke Shaw (£5.1m), two widely owned FPL assets, fit and available for that trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

MANCHESTER UNITED

The signs were good as early as Wednesday morning, with Rashford (groin), Shaw (hamstring), Marcel Sabitzer (muscle) and Tyrell Malacia (knee) all spotted in training.

The quartet was then named in the travelling party to go to Spain ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Europa League quarter-final second-leg tie against Sevilla, with Erik ten Hag sort of confirming their availability in his early-evening press conference.

“They are available because that’s why they are on the aeroplane. But I will make my decisions tomorrow as today we were training and I will see what the reaction is. Tomorrow we will make the decision.’

“[Rashford] had one session with the team, but he had some sessions before individually.” – Erik ten Hag

Raphael Varane (foot), Lisandro Martinez (fractured metatarsal) and Scott McTominay (knock) remain out.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Phil Foden returned to the Manchester City matchday squad this evening after recovering from appendix surgery, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side – who also blank in Gameweek 32 – injury-free for all of 67 minutes.

That’s because Nathan Ake was substituted midway through the second half against Bayern Munich, leaving the field clutching his hamstring.

Elsewhere, Oleksandr Zinchenko (groin) has been spotted back in training ahead of Arsenal’s Friday night clash with Southampton.

Nayef Aguerd (foot) has also been in training ahead of West Ham United’s match with Gent on Thursday and should be available.

And Dominic Calvert-Lewin‘s (hamstring) chances of facing Crystal Palace in Gameweek 32 look positive after he was involved in a friendly for Everton on Tuesday.

For people who are playing their FH this week, how many doublers are you going to play in Gw34?

Seems like it'd be hard to have a good covering of key players in gw34 without FHing or WCing that week

    E.g. 2 city, 2 man Utd, 2 Liverpool etc

I've got 2 city and 2 utd already.

FH this week then 2fts before gw34, so I'll have at least 6, potentially take a hit or two as well.

I will likely have 10, with one hit

      Steele
      TAA, Shaw
      Salah, Rashford, Grealish, Mitoma, March
      Haaland, Alvarez/Martial

If Ward is back in the team, I'll skip Steele I think

10 or 11. Will take a hit in gw33 to bring in Salah and Jota/Isak for Kane and Saka.

Gw34 transfer will be Chilwell to either Trent or a City defender.

      Leaves me 3 x Utd, 3 x Brighton, 2-3 x City and 2-3 x Liverpool

I’m at 13k OR. If you were me would you stick with Kane this week on FH because of EO or take a risk on someone you think will do better? I currently have Isak. Just not sure about Gakpo or Jota and think Newcastle will do well at spurs and don’t really want trippier vs Kane

    Johnstone
    TAA VVD Trippier
    Salah (c) Saka Martinelli Eze
    Watkins Isak Jesus

If I were on FH this week, I’d definitely favour Trent Salah and another pool attacker than a defender. I wouldn’t go Trippier at either, attacking returns are always close for him but clean sheets are scarce at the moment. I’d drop Isak and go 352 with Gakpo or change Isak to Jota.

      Im 18k and on FH,
Ive got Kane in my none FH team but like you fancy Isak to score against a lost looking Spurs side and hoping Newcastle bounce back strong after GW31
My front 3 atm is Isak Watkins Jesus.........fancy Darwin if we get any team news.

Not sure overall rank should play a part in choosing players on FH. If you think a certain player has a good fixture and will score points, you should definitely pick him, regardless of his ownership. Same goes for players you don't think will do well this week - don't select them, simple as that.

For example, i will select Trippier because i don't think that there are 3 better defenders this gameweek, but also will not pick Kane, because i believe there are 3 or 4 players with a higher potential for points then him this gameweek.

It is also way more fun to choose a few low owned players that you have a feeling can haul, then playing it by the EO. Just my 2 cents

Newcastle at home. Stat I heard was the highest forward score at St James' for opposing teams was 6 points.

Also, avoid interim managers' squad like the plague and target them.

Worth swapping out Haaland for Jesus 2ph (11th man)? Have money to bring back Haaland next week.

    Raya
    Zinchenko - Trippier - Botman - Henry
    Salah - Martinelli - Eze - (Mitoma)
    Kane - Watkins
Bench: Arrizabalaga - March - Haaland - Chilwell

You’re right. It’s probably overthinking. Just that Kane can score against anyone and will be highly owned.

I could do jota but then who to go with as third defender? Moreno? Don’t want palace defender as have Johnstone

A lot of midfield and forward options, could go with an arsenal defender and drop the treble attack. Moreno a good option

I can play 10 (no keeper) without making a transfer this week, but no Salah. I'm thinking of a -4 to swap Kane for Salah, what's the general thinking if this is worth it? WC next week so it's for one week only

    1. question: What do you this about this team for GW34 and onwards?

    De Gea, Iversen
    TAA, Trippier, Shaw, Estupinan, Castagne
    Salah, Rashford, Martinelli, March, Mitoma
    Isak, Watkins, Haaland

I will be left with 2.0mil in the bank. (maybe to bring in Jota or Jesus later)

For non-FH32ers, how many points are you willing to cede this GW? My team is predicted to get 56 with optimal about 10 further on.

I think a later FH can get me a bigger gain than ten points. What would you be willing to take? Hoping for green even without FH?

I think it's 50/50 that there could be a 20 point difference if Salah and Trent score well Vs if they blank.

I'm holding my FH to 34 as I won't be able to put out all of the key players for that double otherwise and that week could easily give a 20 point return above the average.
