The dust has barely settled on Gameweek 32 but the pre-match press conferences for Gameweek 33 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) are already underway.

As ever, we’ll be bringing you all the key quotes and injury updates that you need over the coming 24 hours or so.

Seven Premier League bosses are scheduled to face the media on Monday, with the headline news to be found below.

There should be another seven more press conferences at the very least to follow on Tuesday, including the managers of Brighton and Hove Albion, Chelsea, Brentford, West Ham United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

The worry is that the head coaches of the six teams playing on Thursday – Everton, Newcastle United, Southampton, Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United – won’t hold pressers until after the FPL deadline is passed. We might not get further news on Bruno Fernandes or Fabian Schar, then, both of them being early concerns for the upcoming Gameweek.

We’ll know what the state of play is for sure on Tuesday morning but in any event, we’ll round up what we know on the fitness front concerning those six clubs tomorrow.

KEY UPDATES FROM MONDAY

MONDAY’S PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES

LEICESTER CITY

James Maddison (illness), Harvey Barnes (hamstring) and Jamie Vardy (ankle) all look set to be available for the trip to Leeds United.

Jonny Evans (viral infection) remains out, however, along with longer-term absentees Jannik Vestergaard (calf), Ricardo Pereira (hamstring) and James Justin (Achilles).

“Harvey Barnes joined in training yesterday, so he’s put himself available for selection. He’ll train again today – if he has no after-effects, then yeah, he’s definitely available.

“Jonny is feeling better. He’s not trained with us yet, so tomorrow will come too quickly for him, but it’s good that he’s back now, feeling better. Madders came in yesterday and did a gym session. He’ll train today, so I would expect him to be available as well.

“[Jamie’s] ankle’s fine. He’ll be training this morning so another one who’s available for selection, which is really good for us.” – Dean Smith

CRYSTAL PALACE

Following the return of Vicente Guaita (calf) to the matchday squad at the weekend, Roy Hodgson hopes to have Nathaniel Clyne (knee) and Wilfried Zaha (groin) back in training “at some stage” this week – but not in time for Gameweek 33.

Nathan Ferguson (muscle) is out for the rest of the season.

Hodgson meanwhile confirmed that Sam Johnstone would start between the sticks despite Guaita’s availability.

“I don’t even know if it’s going to be likely [they’re available] for West Ham, but at least it’s going to be good to see them back in training during the course of the week. But no, there was never any question that they would be considered for tomorrow night’s game.” – Roy Hodgson on Wilfried Zaha and Nathaniel Clyne

ASTON VILLA

Matty Cash (calf), Boubacar Kamara (foot), Philippe Coutinho (thigh) and Leon Bailey (hamstring) remain out, while Emiliano Martinez will be assessed after coming off at half-time of Saturday’s draw with Brentford with a sickness bug.

“Hopefully, Emiliano Martinez is ready for tomorrow. We are going to know, really, tomorrow morning when we are going to meet to prepare the match, the last details. The other players are not players to add for tomorrow, they are now injured, they are progressing well but are not ready for tomorrow yet.” – Unai Emery

FULHAM

Marco Silva reported no new injury concerns ahead of the game against Aston Villa.

Aleksandar Mitrovic remains suspended until Gameweek 36 but Daniel James is newly available, having been ineligible to face his parent club on Saturday.

LEEDS UNITED

Tyler Adams (hamstring) and Stuart Dallas (leg) are still unavailable, while Javi Gracia typically did his best to avoid answering a team news question when probed on potential knocks to Max Wober and Liam Cooper.

“For the next game, we’ll have some players… in this moment, I’m not sure if they will be able to play.” – Javi Gracia

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Julen Lopetegui said in Monday’s presser that the injury that Mario Lemina (hamstring) picked up in the defeat to Leicester City is not serious, with a decision to be made on Tuesday morning as to whether he can face Crystal Palace.

The Wolves boss channeled his inner Javi Gracia by revealing that one other player had “a little problem”, without naming names.

Chiquinho (knee) and Sasa Kalajdzic (knee) remain on the long-term injury list.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Scott McKenna will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fractured collarbone in Saturday’s defeat to Liverpool.

Cheikhou Kouyate (hamstring) and Serge Aurier (unspecified) are nearing a return to training but not quite ready, while Steve Cooper’s assertion that the previously injured players remain out implies that Ryan Yates (shoulder), Jack Colback (concussion) and Gustavo Scarpa (calf) are still unavailable.

Chris Wood (thigh), Dean Henderson (thigh), Willy Boly (hamstring), Giulian Biancone (ACL) and Omar Richards (leg) are long-term absentees.

What are people’s thoughts on best two strikers to partner Haaland? Using FH in 34 and own Kane and Toney.

    A) Toney
    B) Jota

    D) Watkins
    E) Kane

You wouldn't play 352? So many options in midfield I find it hard to choose only 5 (may go without Rashford). But if 2, Jota & Isak

      1. The Mentaculus

I also thought for 34, but would probably answer the same two anyway

Very hard to ignore Isak/Wilson (surely whoever doesn't start v Everton, only about 64hrs between end of that game and start of Southampton), I have 10 doublers and either one of those will likely be my 11th player. Jota should be a good shout just maybe keep an eye on how Diaz is progressing

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
        • 5 Years

Sorry I misread the question, thought you were asking for best strikers in GW34 alone. Still think Watkins is a great choice, Isak obviously flavour of the week, just be wary of possibility of him being rested v Everton and in one of his DGW fixtures

I personally don't love using Steele for one of the Brighton spots. Means you probably won't play him for their double weeks in 36 (DDG home vs wolves) and 37 (DDG own double)

I've gone Andreas/Stelle to March/Johnstone, but that means I need to sell Trippier (Botman) or Isak (Solanke). Struggling with that last call.

I thought the same so decided to downgrade DDG to Iverson. Yeah Leicester only have 1 game on the BB but it's a decent one. Then just play Steele to the end. Bank £1.2m over DDG

Martinez injured for the season I think.

Maguire playing well recently. He often pops up with a headed goal.

Dalot could be rotated with AWB in a double gameweek.

                Just a punt, I'm chasing.

Steele is causing me way more of a headache than a £3.9 player should. The fact that Sánchez started in the cup is worrying.

Current team (1 FT, 2.6 ITB):
    Steele // Kepa
Trippier Estupiñán Botman // White Henry
Salah Saka Ødegaard March // Bailey*
    Haaland Toney Watkins

What set of transfers over the next two GWs? I'll definitely sell Ødegaard for Rashford as well.
    A. Bailey, Watkins → Grealish, Isak (–4)
    B. Estupiñán, Watkins → Shaw, Isak (–4)
    C. Steele, Bailey → Ederson, Andreas (–4)
    D. Steele, Bailey, Watkins → Ederson, Mitoma, Isak (–8)

Good option but i dont like rotation which is inevitable for all Liverpool attackers bar Salah.

Isak in red hot form and Newcastle are in the mood to secure top 3

Ollie stays for me. He and Isak rotate nicely from gw34 till end of season

so you are benching ollie for 3 of the next 5?
Surely there is better use for 7m+?

Unfortunately spurs are a mess. Kane to Isak will also give me funds to get Salah in midfield

I know Arsenal have a hard fixture, but you know they'll be pushing as hard as possible during that game, so I don't think I should bench Martinelli...

        His points in the last games: 6 10 16 2 8 7 5 13 5 9

But yeah.. Mitoma should be playing. I'll have to think about it.

Crumbling, but still scored 15 goals in the last 5 games. That's the important thing when it comes to midfielders and strikers.

Would play Mitoma over Isak. Isak is in great form but will find it tough away vs physical Everton imo

At 88k, first time in the territory, have WC & FH intact. Looking for a late push.

    Arrizabalaga | Iversen
    TAA Trippier Mings
    Salah Mitoma Mac Allister March
    Haaland Kane Watkins
    ¦ Olise Pinnock Shaw

With no clear cut GW to FH in, maybe a FH 34 could work, followed by a 36 WC.

    Any thoughts?

I'd switch it and wildcard earlier and FH38.

It can work targeting teams who are less likely to rotate but it means a shot to survival or 4th spot often.

Top 2 could go the wire too.

Your team is in good shape. Maybe use the WC and FH to maximise your double gameweek players?

      I'm using FH in GW34

      It's possibly a toss of a coin.

Isak has a double but Wilson will play too and Watkins has the spot nailed.

Isak is on form and Newcastle will be fighting to keep a champs league spot, so I'd go Izak.

For GW34, which combo do you think will have more points?

    1) Martial (AVL, bha) & Akanji (ful, WHU)

    2) Jota (TOT, FUL) & Trippier (SOU) -4

I'd go 2, but I always prefer to double up as much as possible too.

    Who would you bench?

    A) Saka
    B)Martinelli
    C)Solanke

Currently have Solanke benched, but the Saints are trash at the back...

      Personally Solanke.
