Sunday’s Premier League action concludes at Anfield, where Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head.

Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota drop to the bench, as Ibrahima Konate, Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz come in.

Spurs make two alterations, as Ben Davies and Dejan Kulusevski replace Clement Lenglet and Richarlison, both of whom are substitutes.

Liverpool defense really is awful. Never thought they'd keep a clean here and probably not in the next game either.

How did your Watkins over Trippier/Botman pick go after practically telling everyone they were idiots for doing it?

      1. Zenith UK
        • 9 Years
        3 years, 25 days ago

Breakeven on Trips (which was the one I was slandering). Botman/Burn make sense to have as bench fodder. However a team who have had one clean sheet in their last 12, combined with one attacking return (for Trippier) in his last six, made no sense to have a premium defender like that.

Watkins blanked in two games and people want to talk about how he's off the boil but they let Trippier get away with his returns, it literally makes no sense. Combined with the fact that, prior to today, the last time Man U kept a clean sheet was in GW27 and Villa have scored in their last twenty it was easily the logical decision to make.

          Today.

          Trippier:
          - xG: 0.00
          - xA: 1.13

          Watkins:
          - xG: 0.00
          - xA: 0.00
          (yes really!)

If anything you were incredibly unlucky that Tripper didn't haul like crazy.

People are not as stupid as you're making them out to be. If anything you are looking a bit silly after today's statistics.

Don't understand you quoting my comment below. I still stand by it. The sheep/herd mentality is crazy. Irrespective of Trippier's potential returns today. He didn't, again... for the sixth time in a row and eleventh time in thirteen.

In those same thirteen weeks he's had an xGI of more than 0.5 only three times and above 1 once (today).

Why did you pick Watkins in your team then?

Clearly if you'd looked at the odds etc you wouldn't have started the guy with 0 xGI.

I picked Watkins because the lad has been in red hot form. Villa are playing well (and have things to play for) and face a Man U side who aren't full strength at the back and have only kept one clean sheet in their last six?
