Of the players who were not on my radar before price changes, BrunoF the only one who now is.

I really want Evan Ferguson to nail down a starting spot, he would be incredible value at 6.0.

It’s a tough one with Joao Pedro, Welbeck, and Undav also waiting in the wings and De Zerbi being very rotation heavy.

    Work in progress beard team:

    Alisson
    Mings Shaw Saliba James
    Salah Martinelli BrunoF Mbeumo
    Jesus Mitrovic

    Sanchez Nkunku Billing Henry

There are a couple of sneaky Arsenal goatees in there, they may or may not survive. We shall see.

You'd be like Liverpool getting Bellingham and having no money for the rest of the squad. For me, there are too many tasty treats in midfield to forego by plumping for Salah.

      500k early bird FPL ownership:

      Salah 26%
      Kane 17%

It's unlikely you are the only one unless every single Kane owner doesn't have Haaland (82.5%)

Have gone for 2 x 5.0m mids to make up the five:

    1. Soucek - hope to regain some 20/21 season form

Given that Harland is in over 80% FPL should change his price to 16M There is no shame in admitting they were wrong.
Why does pricing have to be static? Same as if Balogan 4.5 (Arsenal striker) moved to another premier league team before the season starts, it would make sense to revise his price.

Of course they will not do anything like this, but they should have reserved the option. Another example. If Haarland did his cruciate ligament before the season started ruling him out for the entire season then the entire price structure would be ruined, again it would be sensible to to revise up all current prices.

If you release a game more than a Month before the season starts it runs the risk of being totally out of whack by the time we kick off

part of the problem is having a price change structure that is based on ownership rather than performance, there is not the flexibility to alter things substantially based on events

Most price rises are based on last GWs performance.

          2. Twelve years a slave
            • 15 Years
            2 years, 5 months ago

A hypothetical example would be Balogan suppose he went to say West Ham as their main striker before season began, At 4.5 he would be in almost 100% of teams, and because price rises are based on transfers in he would pretty much stay at 4.5 all season.
Fanteam have a better system, which is not based on ownership but performance.

            1. SteJ
              • 6 Years
              2 years, 5 months ago

Is it not that prices rise or fall when they perform better or worse than expected?
If everyone thinks a player will do well, everyone has the player. If the player does well, it meets expectations, so minimal rise. Conversley, if the player does poorly, people sell and the price falls. And vice versa

Regardless, the game is all about maximising the time you hold players while they are playing above expected performance (like Almiron last year), regardless of pricing structure no?

In your hypothetical example, Balogun’s price would drop like the fat kid in dodgeball as soon as he went 2 games without scoring and/or another cheap forward was scoring in 2 consecutive matches.

Transfer window also runs to end of Aug when the league has already started. So there’s no way to do it accurate really. Better to get it open and allow people to plan. And then accept that transfers are just part of the fun in bargain hunting.

Chelsea performance is bad last season. Not so weird in this one.

They dont have proper striker and dont play one of the best playmaker they have.

Not so strong in defence too.

I remember people overhype James after World Cup because of their fixtures but still James and ChilLwell dint make their owners happy.

And now people still hope they delivers because of fixtures.

      Maybe yes, maybe not yet.

          Tete is very good.
Both nailed on and I doubt there will be much difference between their overall points.

Just seen that Tete had 1G 5A, slightly less minutes and starts than Ream but seems nailed enough, still very good attacking stats for Fulham defender

No one there that will threaten his place. I need to find 0.5 in my team to get a Henry/Tete rotation.

Like Ream/Henry rotation Very much, well spotted. I have Henry but a bearded rotation with Ream is just what I’m after!

First silly question of the season:

    Szoboszlai & nkunku, or
    Eze & Jesus?

Latter option, punt after you’ve seen the first two in action for a week or two.

Thank you kindly. Seems like the safer bet (at least for gw1)

    Where’s Dale Stevens?

From what I can see, there’s no viable 4.5 midfielders…

So, now the prices have been revealed, and the teased big changes haven't appeared, how are people feeling for the current season?

Will this be a fun season? Will it be one with lots of variety given the plethora of 7m-9m good quality mids? Is it a 10 man game with captain Erling for everyone?

So do I. I had my worst ever season last year, but I had some IRL issues so got off to a terrible start.
Fingers crossed it's not the same this year

It will be a grind of statistical analysis, spreadsheets and the almighty algorithm. Or I'll just copy this Harry character everyone keeps mentioning.

Good use of the word plethora btw

I was at a funeral once. A man no one had seen before went up to the widow and asked if he could speak.
He took the microphone, cleared his throat and said "plethora".
The widow, with a tear in her eye, turned to the man and said "thank you, that means a lot"

Mbuemo might be playing up front for the moment, may be on pens for the moment, no Toney remember. Mitoma clean-shaven which is not what you’re looking for.
